“Lovely Hotel”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Our first five star hotel this, so not able to say how it compares with others of that ilk. However, here are the facts. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite and in retrospect we would have paid the extra for the space and comfort that this option offers. Service was unobtrusive but unfailingly friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean with bathrobes and slippers provided in the spacious bathroom which had bath, walk in shower and his and hers wash bowls. The buffet breakfast served in the adjoining Sarah Bernhardt Restaurant was just excellent - something there for all tastes.
For evening meals we dined once in the Sarah Bernhardt Restaurant. This is the Czech version of fine dining a la Masterchef where a marquee centrepiece is supported by various concoctions reduced to the consistency of babyfood. Not entirely our cup of tea, but you've got to try it once! The presentation of the dishes served was just fabulous. We had fish - me the trout - she the sea bass - both cooked to absolute perfection. It would be churlish to comment further on the supporting cast. Maybe you will love it. Dessert, however, was to die for!!!
For the remainder of our short stay we dined in the - also adjoining - Cafe de Paris where the food is much simpler and very enjoyable being freshly prepared and cooked with lovely fresh ingredients.
A word of warning for the my body is a temple brigade - there are ashtrays on the tables in the Cafe de Paris and, although the aircon is very good, the waft of sweet lady nicotine is clearly present from time to time. Lovely!!

Hotel paris is a wonderful hotel in a great location in central Prague. Easy walk to the Old Town Square and a good shopping centre around the corner if you also happen to like some retail therapy. Stunning building too. Breakfast is fantastic and served in the beautiful Sarah Barnhard restaurant. Wish I could eat there every day!

My husband and I were here for 5 days on vacation. The location, bed, linens, bathroom were all excellent. We were upgraded to a junior suite without asking. Nice touch. Service was good but not great. Food was also good. Location was 2 blocks from old town square.

Hotel Paris is an excellent hotel in a superb location in the city of Prague. The staff were most pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was the most varied with a real omelette bar. The rooms are comfortable and charming .

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in May. We had a twin room on the 5th floor that was definitely big enough for the two of us sharing, and had a separate toilet with the bath and shower in another bathroom, which was perfect for two girls sharing - it meant we could use separate basins and mirrors. The only minor criticism was that the hair dyer was in the bathroom so we had to take it in turns to use that; you couldn't move it! It would be better placed in the bedroom!

The air conditioner was really good - I really don't like it when hotel rooms are too hot and so really appreciated an efficient air conditioning unit!

The decor of the hotel is beautiful and the food at the bar and at breakfast were great. Service was rather slow in the evening - but then that seemed to be the case more or less everywhere we ate in Prague!

It's in a fantastic location - really easy walking distance to all the sights, restaurants and bars.

Probably the only real downside is that there is no-where to sit outside… but that's probably the only drawback to a city centre hotel.

My husband and I spent three nights here in April when we flew to Prague to see Robbie Williams. Staff could not have been more helpful. We had lovely room with separate seating area and two bathrooms. The hotel is in a great location close to the centre of the old town but very quiet in the evenings . Buffet breakfast was amazing. If we return to Prague would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Hotel Paris for three nights in May, and it was a terrific experience. The hotel dates from 1904 and is in exquisite condition. Our room on the fourth floor was very comfortable and well appointed with nice views of the city and ample room to stretch out and relax.

The hotel is just behind the Municipal House and near the Powder Tower, and is within easy walking distance to the major Old Town attractions.

Breakfast (included with the room cost) was excellent, including a wide selection of breads, pastries, chef made omelets and champagne. The hours, particularly over the weekend are convenient for an early morning start or a lazy sleep in.

The Paris Cafe is an affordable and well run option for lunch, drinks or late night dessert. The Paris Cake (from a 1904 recipe) is excellent.

What sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. Everyone -- the doormen, chefs, waiters and front desk -- was polite, efficient and friendly. Our concierge happily took care of booking a Jazz Boat dinner cruise for us (also recommended) and handled several other requests we had.

Our stay at the Hotel Paris was unforgettable. We will stay there again if we ever have the opportunity to return to Prague.

Room Tip: Room 402 is a large standard room near the top of the hotel. Spacious, quiet and comfortable.
