“Beautiful hotel, perfect location, 5* all the way!”
Reviewed 19 January 2010

Wow what a hotel, Took my husband to Hotel Paris for his 40th Birthday. We wanted a top hotel ( wegot it!) good value and a good location. .... and a propper breakfast not just a croissant or bread roll (i do love croissants though!) We were lucky enough to have room 410, 4th floor at the corner (front) of the hotel and saw perfect sunsets over the old square rooftops and turrets. What a beautiful city, Ideal city for a quick weekend away, you feel really safe not like your about to get mugged! ! Its a compact city we walked everywhere (wear flats!) such a lovely place lots to see and do. Lovely bars and restraunts, we went November and sat outside at night in the old town eating under patio heaters and never felt cold. Do a river boat trip just before sunsets we went at 4pm, you see the city come alive with lights it s very romantic! They even candle light some of the little canals near st. charles bridge watermill at night. This is a city that has got the whole package. Lots of great restraunts and bars, visit the Castle and petrin hill and the shopping area near wencesslass square.
Ps the hotel spa is nice we only used the jaccuzi and sauna and steamroom (not brave enough for the ice cold plunge pool!!!) but that was all included, just pay for any treatments.
Wow you have to go, Dont just book it Thomas Cook it! --- That s where i work and will be recomending this hotel to all who want a romantic city break! Enjoy

The Paris is located at the top of the old town district. Ask for a room at the front or better still there are a few rooms overlooking the small square. The view from our room was spectacular.
Great breakfast and very friendly service.

This hotel is an experience in itself. Given back to the family who owned it, it is decked out in modern art nouveau furniture that you wouldn't expect to see in a hotel. Even the lift has a door that opens outwards!

Our room looked incredibly charming and, though the TV was small and the bathroom made into two separate rooms, it was modern and comfortable.

I can also recommend the room service and the included breakfasts, and the staff are friendly and happy to help (a rarity in Prague!). There is also a free internet terminal in the lobby.

We thought Prague’s Old Town was the most romantically atmospheric place we had ever been. Architecturally beautiful, all cobblestone streets and gothic spires, it was like stepping into a fairytale. We fell in love with the place: so much so, that we decided to get married there. And we chose the art nouveau splendour of the Hotel Paris to hold our reception in.

It was a dreamlike experience, effortless and enjoyable throughout. The Sarah Bernhardt restaurant is exquisite, the food outstanding and the staff, faultless.

We chose to stay at the hotel for a week, and about 10 of our wedding guests also stayed for a shorter time. Everyone was charmed by the historic style of the hotel and the décor of both the common areas and the rooms.

On our wedding night and the night following, we stayed in the 6th floor Royal Tower Suite. Words almost fail me: this was a once in a lifetime experience. The bed faces a porthole window with stunning views. You could play football in the bathroom – or take a whirlpool bath. But the pièce de résistance lay at the top of the spiral staircase with the tower room, and its panoramic views over the entire city.

Night drinks on that 360-degree terrace with our friends, looking out over Prague’s fairytale skyline, was a truly magical experience and a memory we will treasure for life.

Our family of 5 - 80 year old Grandma included - traveled to Prague to visit our son who was studying for the semester. The Hotel Paris stands out for its beauty and the courtesy of its staff. It is an old building but all the amenities have been updated so even though you see wonderful art nouveau fixtures, the bathroom and TV are thoroughly modern.

The reception staff was incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations and with a credit card crisis. They phoned my credit card company at no charge and got me through a potentially vacation spoiling event.

Breakfast was good and plentiful and the cafe has tasty lunchtime specials.

Although we normally stay in another hotel in Prague, we knew the Hotel Pariz was ideally located on Namesti Republiky. We were not aware the rates for the Pariz were so attractive - untill we read about it in a mailing of our frequent flyer programme. We decided to give it a try for a short citybreak during our Christmas Holidays.

We were informed about the possibily of an airport transfer at the front desk before arrival - which would cost us CZK 840,-, a price slightly on the expensive side - since official taxirates from Ruzyne to hotels in the city are CZK 499,-. As elsewhere mentioned it is very well possible to take bus 100 to Zlicin where you change into the metro B to Nam. Republiky, no changes which will set you back 26,- CZK per person - total travelling time approx. 30/40 mins.

When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by very attentive staff at the door taking over our luggage. Check-in was friendly and swift. We had made reservations for a standard room - which turned out to be larger than expected on the basis of the reviews we read here. We had a good bed, plenty of storage facilities and a relatively large spottles bathroom. No coffee/teamaking facilities but a mini-bar with a rather limited choice. Roomservice available though.

Breakfast was included in our rate, which was of a good quality and choice. It was served in the Restaurant Sarah Bernhard untill 10 am - relatively early we thought. Staff were very friendly and did their very best in a completely full dining room.

Should you have the chance - take the opportunity to have dinner in the Sarah Bernhard too - which we did on boxing day. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the historical athmosphere makes it a unique experience. Food is of high quality. The hotel bar (Cafe de Paris) was cosy and full all nights with a very friendly staff too.

If you are in Prague as a tourist we would certainly recommend this hotel. We will come back again, in fact - we already made a new reservation upon return home.
