The location of this hotel can't be beat - it's only a couple minute walk from the main square and maybe 10 from the Charles Bridge, but what really sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail. The staff were absolutely amazing - no request was too difficult and they were courteous and friendly at any time of the day or night. I was in Prague for a weekend with a friend and the twin room was perfect with a lot of little touches that really made the stay easy and lovely. There's an honesty bar in the lounge with drinks available 24 hours a day, various hot drinks set up in the lobby and the breakfasts were the best I've ever had in a hotel. There's an amazing buffet plus you can order from a selection on a menu. I really can't say enough about this hotel and I've already recommended it to a few people.

We have just returned from an excellent four day visit to Prague. What a wonderful city for sightseeing, with marvelous cobbled streets, beautiful buildings, and many hidden squares.
We stayed at the Maximillian Hotel which was the perfect place to be based, only a short walk from the Old Town Square, in one direction, and the Palladium Shopping Centre and Dept Store in the other direction.
The rooms are modern with a sense of understated luxury. The umbrella hanging in your wardrobe, the well stocked mini bar, the netspresso machine with a selection of coffees were only part of the enjoyment. The breakfasts were just fantastic. A superb buffet , but with daily specials and eggs to order from the menu.
The staff were excellent - worthy of special note was Peter, 'receptionist extrodinaire'. Nothing was a problem to him, he handled everything with a confident and helpful smile. The breakfast room supervisor looked after my wife and daughter's coeliac needs without a hitch. Josef managed to find a lost card in a room we had stayed in earlier in our stay. Truly excellent service.
We all (5 of us) voted on the way home that it could only be the Maximillian for our next stay in Prague. A memorable stay. Thank You.

Room Tip: Red house rooms are at the back which is quieter. Superior deluxe rooms give extra space, but the de...

My wife and I stayed here in October 2011 and really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The location, in my opinion, is perfect. Close to the Old Town Square and on a quiet street with many different dinner options close by. As many other have written, the breakfast was really good. Best we had on our trip. Almost forgot, you can have a goldfish brought to your room. Very cool

As a solo woman traveler, I will say that this hotel treated me with much respect. The reception team were awesome and very helpful. The breakfast was incredible...probably one of the best in Prague, with outstanding service. The room was extremely comfortable, with oh so comfy pillows and covers. I slept like a baby, and felt totally safe and secure. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to old town, with several great restaurants in the area. You cannot go wrong with this hotel. Thank you Hotel Maximilian!

Really like the hotel atmosphere, the staff are friendly. Room is nice, being welcomed by fruits and mineral water in the room. Bathroom seems to be clean and water pressure is good.

Just too bad no wifi in the room. Otherwise, everything is good. Room not too warm either, since often in Czech, they tend to put the heating quite high.

We stayed at this hotel over the New Year break and found it to be a comfortable base after walking around Prague all day.

Positives:

-Location. Just a few minutes walk from the Old Town Square, peaceful street, small corner shop and restaurants on the same street.
-Breakfast. Great choice of hot and cold food. They also have a separate menu where you can choose hot food to order e.g. eggs benedict. Swedish Muesli was delicious.
-Service. Very friendly, professional and competant. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was dealt with promptly.
-Room Amenities. Large room, DVD player in the room was handy (you can borrow DVD's from reception), nice deep bath and plenty of storage space.
-Complimentary drinks and snacks in reception was a nice touch
-Robes and slippers provided in all rooms

Negatives

-Lack of bar although there is a honesty bar located in one of the communal rooms.
-Carpet stains in the 3rd floor corridor in the Red House made the property feel a bit shabby even though it isn't.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Maximilian and wouldn't hesitate to return on our next visit to Prague.

Dear Valued Guest,

thank you for such a detailed comment. We appreciate you taking time to mention the location, room amenities and breakfast.

Here is Hotel Maximilian we believe that little touches make a big difference. It is truly nice to have a complimentary cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, with some home-made pastry, after you return from a walk around the city.

As for the corridor floor, let me say all of the carpets in the corridors are about to be changed by the end of the month.

It makes us happy to know you have enjoyed your stay. We are looking forward to seeing you again!

I found the most perfect hotel for when vacationing in Prague. The Maxilmilian Hotel was just what I was looking for. It was a fairly modern designed hotel, extremely clean and very reasonably priced (stay 3 days and get the 4th night free). The location was perfect as we were within walking distance of all the major sites, yet just outside the tourist crowds. It was a 5 minute walk to the center of the old quarter, 5 minutes from the Jewish quarter and 15 minutes from Charles bridge. The people there were extremely helpful, friendly and spoke excellent english. For the price we also got free breakfast (nice buffet) and free wi-fi (very nice bonus). Unless you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this has everything you need. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay.
