“It's still great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

My last visit was 7 years ago. I was not disappointed this time. The room was wonderful and the breakfast buffet was fabulous. How do they get so fresh and tasty fruits? The location couldn't have been better. Quiet but near everything. We walked (and got lost) everywhere. A great visit. I will return again!

I would highly recommend the Maximilian Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and the hotel itself was lovely. They provide a very generous breakfast service, and the location is great for all the main sights. The option to have a goldfish in the room is also brilliant, it might sound gimmicky but I thought it was great!

Room Tip: The church view is worth it I think.

Walk out to many many main sites and restaurants and bars. Very friendly and helpful staff which is not something we experienced everywhere in Prague. The best breakfast with daily specials and cooked to order hot breakfast which was also incl in room price Extremely clean and well appointed rooms. More expensive than other hotels and apartments we had stayed in but we were not disappointed.

Room Tip: It was really all excellent but I don't want to gush! The beds were the best for sleeping that w...

We chose this hotel because of good reviews on Trip Advisor - and we were not disappointed. From the moment of booking we were impressed with the friendly and efficient communication, which made us feel positive about our future stay. The driver who met us from the airport was chatty and helpful and made our arrival on a cold dark evening a pleasant one. Our room was modern and well-equipped and we loved the offer of a goldfish if we were missing our pet. A lovely touch! Everyone spoke very good English and, like all the other reviewers, we thought the breakfast was superb with a huge selection of tasty items and in a bright and airy dining room. The hotel was in a great position for visiting the Altstadt, the Jewish Quarter, the Charles Bridge and the Little Quarter. All in all, we feel we were very well looked after and we would not hesitate to recommend the Maximilian or to return ourselves another time.

Room Tip: Our room looked onto the courtyard and the roof of the dining room and was very quiet and peaceful.

Boutique privately owned hotel. Fully meets prior reviews. Young European staff is friendly and very helpful with infectious enthusiasm. Local entrepreneurial model is a BIG winner. Wonderful breakfast buffet with daily special offerings. Comfortable modern rooms with all the amenities. Library, business center and lounge with honor bar. Great location. The staff genuinely makes you feel special and serves as excellent concierges.

We found the Maximilian on trip advisor, and were thrilled with our stay there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. For example, I purchased a SIM card in the airport, but all of the info was in Czech and I was having problems with my phone. The front desk staff was very happy to translate and trouble shoot for me. A few days later when I needed to add more time on my SIM card, the bell hop personally took me down the street to help me out and translate!
Breakfast was a full breakfast and was delicious. In addition to the large buffet of hot and cold items, a menu was also available to order from at no additional charge. Coffee, tea and cake in the lounge in the afternoons was a nice touch.
The hotel location was excellent, being a very short walk from the Old Town Square but in a quiet spot. Our room was a nice size, very clean and quiet.

Room Tip: I would recommend asking for a room in the front, black, building. It is more convenient and there i...

We stayed 8 days here, and didn't realize how great a location it was till we were there a couple of days. Easy walking to almost everything you'd want to see. Staff was friendly, attentive, helpful, responsive. We had a larger, 2-room suite, definitely worth it for a longer stay, and we took advantage of their stay-4-pay-for-3 deal on the web. Room was clean, spacious. Morning breakfasts were ample and tasty, with equallyhelpful wait staff there. Everyone spoke fluent English. Only minor negative was that, whereas their website advertises prices in euros, you must pay in Czech currency, so our prepaid currency card, loaded in euros, wasn't acceptable; but that said, the manager did go out of his way to make other options possible for us. couldn't have asked for more. The coffee machine in the room was a puzzle for us Americans despite their attempts to train us.

Room Tip: be aware the rooms facing the street are at times beset by noisy people, late at night, in the squar...
