Maximilian Hotel
Ranked #29 of 647 Hotels in Prague
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 18 June 2014

A small hotel located within easy walking distance of the Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter. The fifth floor non smoking room was quiet, clean, nicely decorated and included a king size bed. The hotel staff from the assistant manager to the front desk were welcoming and most helpful in arranging concert tickets, restaurant reservations and driver services.

Breakfast was included a diversified buffet, a "cook to order" option and a wide range of coffees.

This hotel provides great value and we would highly recommend

Room: excellent. Staff: couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast: spoilt for choice. Bed: a great night's sleep. Location: perfect for the square.

I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel. Our room was kept clean throughout, the staff were incredibly friendly, and everything you could want was within walking distance. We wanted to use a gym during our stay, and we were able to use an amply-equipped gym at the Hotel Josef (sister hotel round the corner).

We had a very good stay at the Hotel Maximilian.
Its location in the Staré Město area was excellent--within easy walking distance to many sights and restaurants.
Also excellent was the service and the breakfast!
The staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable.
The room was clean and spacious.
We definitely recommend this hotel.

In Prague in April 2014 and stayed at the Maximilian Hote. Location is excellent, about five minute walk from the old town square which means you are away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of Prague old town. Facilities were great and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My wife and I had initial trouble finding the hotel, as we needed to get our bearings amongst the back lanes of Prague. We finally found the hotel after a 20 mins walk, in the light rain.

Depending on who sits at the reception, you can generally expect a good and friendly service from the reception staff. I don't believe the hotel has a bellboy, as we had to carry our own luggage up to the room by ourselves.

The room was fantastic. The bed was comfy enough and the pillows were good to sleep on. Coffee and tea making facilities were available. And to top it all up, they provided us with a pet gold fish to keep us company in the room throughout our stay. It was a pleasure having a pet fish in the room, especially after a long day's walk.

The best part of the hotel though was the breakfast room! Their service staff would brighten our morning with smiles and greetings each time we walked into the room, without fail. The breakfast room was brightly lit and the breakfast buffet spread was just too tempting for us not to try every single dish on offer!

Location-wise, you can actually walk to most tourist attractions without much trouble. Getting a stroll is the best way to enjoy this charming city. And there are bars and restaurants within 5-10 mins walking radius of this hotel. Just spend some time to get to know its surroundings, and you will be rewarded for sure!
