“Comfortable, friendly, well-located hotel”
Reviewed 11 September 2009

Outstanding hotel. We booked 4 rooms for a family reunion, and it was perfect for all 3 generations (ages 17 thru 89). Excellent location: quiet little plaza easy walk to popular sites. Very helpful service (Lucie is a standout). Beautiful, extensive breakfast included. Rooms are bright, comfortable, and well-equipped (including free internet). Fitness room at nearby sister hotel Josef was a small but adequate penthouse for rooftop workouts.

We stayed at the Maxinilian Hotel for just 1 night, and although everything was OK, we expected more from a hotel that has the SLH mark. The rooms need renovation, the lounge allows people to smoke inside the room, the food is OK - and we think that there are better hotels in Prague in this level of prices.

Lets keep it simple....

The Maximilian Hotel is one of the finest hotels Ive stayed in. Its immaculate, the staff are fantastic, the breakfast is filling and fresh and the location is superb.

I CANT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL ENOUGH TO ANY TRIP ADVISOR MEMBER GOING TO PRAGUE.

In more deail the hotel is superbly situated in the quite area of Josefov but is within 2 minutes of the Old Town Square. There are good bars within the same time and several excellent restaurants again within minutes walk.

The hotel is clean, crisply styled and a joy to stay in. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. the bathrooms are in keeping with the hotel. marble and power showers. Flat screen TV's and air con. We had electric blinds and a roof top view of Prague. Some had balconies but we did not.

The honesty bar is very good for free Tea and Coffee 24hrs. the prices of spirits and beer is the only let down, as with all hotels they are pricey. But hey if you cant sleep at 4am its not bad for having a night cap and putting it on the room!!

The breakfast was excellent. the times are superb so that you dont have to be up with the lark to get some. They run it till 12.30hrs on Sunday! Everything you require is in there. My only slight point was that occasionally the hot food had gone cold. But the staff would cook some fresh and hot stuff when asked. That is a point, that the staff could not do any more to help.

The hotel is a 5* for me. A right little gem that I found from Trip advisor and I am happy to carry on recommending to TA people.

You wont be disappointed!

A lovely hotel in a great location just behind the Old Town Square. Despite the central location, I didn't hear any noise from the streets outside, even on a Saturday night in the middle of August. The staff all spoke very good English and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection of cereals, fruit, breads and omlettes.

We stayed at the Maximilian for three days. Superb hotel and excellent location for touring Prague. The staff was top notch and helped us with everything from printing airline passes to recommendations for restaurants. The Maximilian is located close to the old town square and was very convenient to some superb restaurants. The cot they put in our rooms for the children were very spacious and comfortable -- a real twin bed size. We had two rooms for six people, and they gave us a great deal for a three day stay.

The breakfast was just outstanding -- one of the best we've ever seen!. Artisanal cheeses, grilled vegetables, fresh fruit, eggs -- you name it, they had it -- all freshly done. Variety for every taste and a great start to days of vigorous touring!

We recently stayed at this hotel, and it was by far the best for the value of all the hotels we stayed at, including some five stars. The location is on a quiet street, but very close to all the main tourist sites. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and their recommendations for restaurants were top notch. Our room was very clean and comfortable and quite large for European hotels. They had a library that actually had English newspapers that were free, as well as free coffee in the morning. The Breakfast was very plentiful and excellent as well, and was included in the price of the room. We were traveling with two adults and three college age kids and everyone liked the breakfasts. There was also an honor bar which was fully stocked and even had an ice machine available. Our entire family said it was one of the best hotels we had stayed at.
