“fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2010

The hotel was fantastic...and I'm really fussy.

The rooms were all beautifully appointed and furnished and spotlessly clean.
The bathroom had both a bath and separate shower., and the hairdryer was a proper professional one, not the budget type you generally find. in hotels.
The staff were very professional and extremely helpful .
The location is fantastic too!
10 out of 10 from us!

The hotel promisses much more than it delivers.....
The bedrooms are very small, and the sun light was in the room already around 4:30 am as they simply don't have blackouts for the curtains, and the curtain fabric it self isn't enough.
The bed are awful! Like only 40 - 50 cm from the floor with very old and disformed mattress. We arrived from a day walking and as the beds didn't have a protective quilt we couldn't even sit at the beds....
The "business center" is a room with only 2 computers that are always busy by other uneducated guests that don't care if you're standing there waiting for almost half an hour. The staff doesn't care at all, they don't have any rules for using the business center.
The desk staff was extremelly unhelpful and unkind, even a little posh.
Breakfast was good and location is excellent.
Definetely it has no reason to be a member of "small luxury hotels" and promisses much more than delivers.

This was one of the best surprises we received while in beautiful Prague. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet! The amenities are excellent, with a complimentary fruit plate waiting for us on arrival. The beds are extremely comfortable. The location is prime, within a few blocks from the city center with wonderful window shopping on the way. There are several restaurants close by. The French restaurant next door to the hotel has awesome food. The most impressive part of this hotel; however, is their breakfast buffet. It by far is one of the best I've encountered, catering to both European and American tastes.

The Maximilian Hotel is a wonderful hotel in a quiet street close to Old Town Square. Our superior double room was lovely, quiet, spacious (with high ceilings, a king-sized bed, and a couch), and immaculate. We loved having the espresso machine in the room. The excellent breakfast buffet included lots of choices, including yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, pastry, cheeses, meats, fish, and egg dishes, and we enjoyed the menu items and cappucinos during our stay as well. Incredibly, the dining room manager went out and bought gluten-free rolls to accommodate my husband's gluten intolerance, so he was able to eat a roll with breakfast every day. In addition to free-WIFI, the hotel provides free access to two laptops and printers. We found all the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. Although the hotel does not have a restaurant, there are several good restaurants nearby, including Chez Marcel next door. I highly recommend the Hotel Maximilian to anyone seeking a modern, comfortable, quiet four-star hotel near Old Town.

Excellent location and warm welcome. Room 206 is the best option. Breakfast buffet is superb and wifi works in all rooms. Clean and silent. Nicest neighbourhood.

Stayed there May 6th to the 9th. Check in a breeze, staff very friendlily and helpful, the room clean, sufficiently large. The bathroom with tub was perfect. The best feature was the full featured breakfast which has a buffet table with a variety of cereals, eggs, a variety of meats, yogurts, breads and rolls and other treats. In addition, the chef will cook up an omelet or other breakfast choices to order. The waitstaff brings coffee or tea to your table. Just can't say enough about breakfast. Location is great too; only a few minute walk from the main square. However, be sure to take a map because its easy to get disoriented with all the crooked streets.
