“Just Lovely!!”
Reviewed 20 December 2011

Cannot fault this hotel at all, immaculate, elegant, the staff and service were fantastic.
Location is great, just a few minutes from the main square and a short enjoyable walk along the cobbled streets to the Charles Bridge. The rooms are amazing, very large beds, queen size I think, (we had a de-luxe room), flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar etc. The bathroom was also immaculate with everything you need, hairdryer (and they are good ones, no need to bring your hairdryer girls!), robes, slippers, fresh towels every day. All in all this is a fabulous place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms on floor 6 have a lovely view over the coloured rooftops and church spires.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in this hotel at the weekend. We found it to be exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very friendly. The best thing about the hotel was the location, which is only a few minutes walk from the main square.

During our stay, we did have the unpleasant experience of overlapping with some inconsiderate guests, who insisted on disrupting our sleep thanks to the excessive noise they made. The next morning I did get a formal apology from the hotel, along with a bottle of cava in the room. As my wife is pregnant, I declined this, and the hotel made a number of other offers of compensation (including a voucher for 2 nights stay in the future) as an apology.

The only comment I would make on the hotel is I do not feel it is a 5 star hotel, by my personal rating. That said, I did not pay a 5 star price for the stay either. Personally, I believe 5 star hotels are something exceptional, amazingly luxurious and a level of service that is second to none. Grand Hotel Bohemia was a very good 4 star hotel standard. I would happily recommend the hotel to people on a break in Prague, looking for a nice place within reach of everything

Room Tip: Try and avoid the lower floors, beside the stairs/lifts as can be noisey if you have the misfortune...

My wife and I just returned from a very enjoyable trip to Prague. We stayed at the Grand Hotel Bohemia for 5 nights. This was part of a package that included airfare to U.S., so we did not know much about the hotel until we arrived. Prior to arrival, we had several very helpful emails with the hotel for convenient directions, recommended guided tours, etc. On arrival, there was a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice in our room, because I had mentioned to the staff that this trip was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This really impressed us. Each morning, we got very helpful advice from the front desk staff on each day's itinerary (this was our first trip to Prague, so we needed lots of advice). Their help included arranging tours, arranging drivers if needed, and anything else they could do to help us enjoy each day. The cleaning staff was very thorough without being intrusive, the location is perfect for seeing Old Town and New Town, and the public transportation is very modern to reach any location in the metropolitan area. I will definitely want to go again, and stay at the Grand Hotel Bohemia.

I've been in this hotel last weekend and loved it. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Old Town Square, away from the mob but very well located and this time is great to stroll in the beautiful Christmas markets. 15 minutes walk from Charles bridge and around 35 minutes from Prague Castle. The rooms are very comfortable, although I believe they are a little bit small to 5 stars. Best of all it was always very clean. I booked room only, but in the day I decided to try out the breakfast, I paid €20 for person, very, very expensive for what you get. For that price, I recommend Bakeshop Praha (Kozi 1), a great pastry shop with a wide variety.

The Grand Hotel Bohemia packs a lot of punch and panache for the money. It is in a fabulous location within an easy, safe walk to Old Town Square and many other attractions. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. While my room was an interior room with no view, it was blissfuly quiet and felt like an oasis in the middle of all the energy of this amazing city. The breakfast was very good and offered something for everyone. Overall, I would give the hotel a vey good to excellent rating and would submit that it offers a phenomenal value in a phenomenal City!

Room Tip: Interior rooms offer no view, but are very quiet.

The hotel represented very good value and we would certainly recommend it. The staff were all very friendly, pleasant and efficient and all seemed keen to provide a good quality of service.
We had a bedroom on the 6th floor overlooking the main entrance and could just the spires of the cathedral up at the castle - we think there were some bedrooms that overlooked the rear of the hotel and not sure if these would have much of a view. Our bedroom was a decent size, well equipped with good quality furnishings and a very comfortable large double bed. the en-suite was a reasonable size, well furnished however the water pressure from the shower was not very good and the temperature did vary considerably - this is our only fault with the hotel.
Breakfast each morning was to a very good standard with a wide variety of choice, both hot and cold dishes from a well presented buffet area. On each of the four evenings we were there the restaurant seemed very quiet and therefore we never ate in. On our arrival we shared the cheese platter which we had served in the bar and this was well presented with good quality cheeses and breads.
We would definitely stay at the Grand Hotel Bohemia again and based on our experience would highly recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Suggest you request a room on the upper floors and outward facing.
