We stayed at Unitas for 2 nights in June. This hotel is a beauty! FABULOUS hotel on a quiet street, just around the corner and a short lovely stroll to all the historic tourist spots and, of course, great shopping. It is set in a grand historic building with soaring high ceilings, completely renovated and modern. Walk into a cobble stone courtyard and sit outside or inside in one of 2 lovely lounge areas. The bedrooms are HUGE with comfy beds, beautiful bedding, slippers and bathrobes waiting, armchairs by the windows, air conditioning/heating, wardrobe, mini bar, flat screen TV, dvd player and lovely big windows overlooking the central cobble stone courtyard. Self-serve tea and coffee facilities are located on each floor in a lovely little alcove with armchairs. The bathroom is HUGE with a big spa bath. The breakfast is FANTASTIC, everything you could possibly want and more unexpected delicious local delicacies, including champagne and made to order omelettes, served in two spacious, modern, gorgeous rooms by ever so friendly and helpful staff. Five minute walk to a tram up to the castle (buy your tram tickets at Unitas reception). Take a 15 minute stroll past beautiful bohemia crystal, local glass, jewellery, puppet and arts and crafts shops into the square for the clock tower or Charles Bridges. Keep walking, mesmerised up to the castle. Stop and have a bite to eat at one of the lovely cafes and restaurants going up the hill to the castle in the Mala Strana area on Nerudova Street or along to river looking out at the Charles Bridge near the Kafka museum. Highly recommend Restaurant U Laury on Nerudova 10, Prague 1 open 10.00 - 23.00 with a lovely little central courtyard. Try the local duck, cabbage and potato dumplings, delicious! Check out the most amazingly chic designer shopping street directly behind the clock tower. It’s like being in Paris. It is a beautiful tree lined street with wide footpaths and lots of lovely little cafes and restaurants on the side streets with tables and chairs outside to sit and take in the beauty of the endless magic of historic buildings around you. These cafes and restaurants are also a quiet escape from the bustling restaurants in the central square and leading up to Charles Bridge. The Unitas is only about 20-30 minutes by taxi to the airport – have the hotel book these for you as it is much cheaper (almost half the price) than stopping one in the street. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Oh and if you are driving, the hotel has parking.
