The hotel is on a quiet street but very conveniently located. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and we enjoyed some very nice chats with them. The hotel is spotless and the breakfast was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to this magical city!

Returned today from staying at The Unitas for 5 nights, the hotel is located on a road which has the police station on it but don't let that put you off, it seemed a very quiet safe street to be on. Our room (222) a classic double overlooking the inner courtyard was a brilliant size and exceptionally clean, bathroom was superb, a coffee/tea corner was situated on the corner of our corridor and kept well stocked. Fridge/minibar in the room. Breakfasts were unbelievably good with a continually replenished breakfast buffet, every taste catered for! The decor of the breakfast room and indeed the whole hotel was modern and tasteful. The staff at the Unitas appear to have great pride in their work and are so helpful, I would certainly recommend this hotel and have no qualms about returning. Thank you Unitas for making what was already a fantastic visit to Prague an even better one.

Nice old fashioned hotel in great location. Service is good, rooms are cleaned quickly in the mornings. Large though sparsely furnished rooms. Room key needs to be left with desk when you go out. Very good and varied breakfast. Some things that could be improved: TV is small and far from bed, though there's not much to watch in English anyway. Each floor has coffee service but it consists of a kettle and instant coffee only, and no decaf. If you face the street you may find it noisy at times.

Five minutes' walk from Wenceslas Square, yet tucked up a quiet side street, is this small boutique-style hotel with 37 rooms. It's an old, historic building that's been tastefully modernised and the room was huge and comfortable, with high ceilings and big windows. The breakfast room and breakfast were excellent and the staff were super-friendly, very attentive and helpful. It was also quite cheap for a business trip - 130 Euros for a double room with an ensuite. But it would also be perfect for city-break travellers, too. Found thanks to previous reviewers on TripAdvisor!

Arrived to a welcome drink of prosseco upon check-in. The rooms are huge with very high ceilings. There was plenty on offer for breakfast at the buffet. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of the tourist attractions. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Having read the reviews of this hotel and being interested in its cold war history, we decided to splash out and go for it. We were not disappointed.

The staff must receive special training as each one was friendly, helpful and polite, giving the genuine impression that nothing is too much trouble, just ask.

The building is immaculate and beautifully presented. Our bedroom was spacious, with two single beds together making a huge double, and a separate area with clothes storage. The bathroom was gorgeous, with great toiletries and spotlessly clean. Bathrobes and disposable slippers are provided. There was no bath - which we didn't mind but I know some people enjoy a soak on holiday.

We barely heard anything throughout our visit. The doors all close quietly and there must be very good sound-proofing. No footsteps, loo flushing, furniture scraping and all the other human noises from fellow traveller's rooms that can mar a hotel stay!

The breakfast selection was outstanding and regularly replenished - no standing around looking for a clean bowl or wondering where the milk is. There was bacon, delicious creamy scrambled egg, mushrooms, pancakes, along with the usual continental cold meats, a selection of bread and cakes, mozarella with tomatoes and basil, cereals, fresh fruit salad including strawberries sometimes, fresh melon and pineapple, yoghurts etc etc. I could have happily eaten there all day.

One thing I really liked - you are treated like an adult. There are no signs telling you to do this and not do that. No silly suggestion that the hotel prefers you to use your towels more than once because of its concern about the envonment. Everything is discrete and understated.

There are two computers that guests can use, although the connections are slow. There are lots of books and DVDs available to borrow and there is a free tea and coffee making area.

The location is excellent, easy to get to and from but down a quiet side street. The secret police connections are not highlighted but staff were happy to provide information and show us the cells below when we asked. The former secret police HQ is round the corner.

The only minor niggle from husband was that he didn't like his pillow - but he is awkward.

Probably the best hotel I have visited.

We stayed at the Unitas Hotel in Prague for a long weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday - a city we had always intended to visit, but had never quite got round to. Booked the Unitas on the strength of other TA reviews, and because it looked interesting. We were delighted with the hotel, its location and staff. As other reviewers have said, the rooms are huge and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. We hadn't mentioned that it was a special occasion, but the reception staff had obviously noted my husband's date of birth on his passport, and on the morning of his birthday we were greeted at breakfast with happy birthday wishes from the waiting staff and glasses of prosecco. This sort of touch is indicative of a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests. The only negative comment that I would make is that the bathroom in our room (207) had an over-bath shower, and the bath had extremely high sides. This wasn't a real problem for us, but would have been very difficult for anyone elderly, or with mobility problems. The bath was also very slippery, which didn't help the inelegant process of getting out! (Although I suspect that if we had asked reception they would have given us a rubber mat.)

The Unitas is perfectly placed for exploring Prague, which is a stunning city. We walked everywhere, although public transport seemed to be plentiful and convenient. There are also a number of perfectly acceptable restaurants within easy reach, and the staff were very helpful with directions, etc. The hotel also booked airport transfers for us, which made life very simple. This could have been done independently online, but for the minimal difference in price it was simply more convenient to get the hotel to make the arrangements.

Like many others, if we go back to Prague (which we very much hope to do!), we wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Unitas Hotel.
