“Excellent choice in Prague”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2011

The choice of the hotel for our six nights in Prague immediately after Christmas Holidays was preceded by a long search on Tripadvisor, that resulted, as usual, very useful, because we discovered Hotel Unitas, perfect from any point of view. Unitas Hotel arranged our pick-up at the airport, at a price (25 euro, tip included) quite standard in Prague, but unlikely in any other European capital city. The welcome at the hotel was cheerful and professional; we were requested the credit card for a “pre-authorization”, a practice quite usual in several countries. We had reserved a suite, so the room was particularly large, with a little entrance hall, a cooking corner, an enormous king size bed and a bathroom so comfortable that deserves the Italian term: “sala da bagno”. The décor could be defined “minimalist”, with soft colours and everything looks new, clean and perfectly working. The breakfast was more than adequate, with some detail over the average (you can have a crèpe made to order with jam or chocolate). The service was excellent: the cleaning lady discreet and practically invisible (I think they keep an eye on you, because they make also the turn down at night without any accidental meeting); the waitress in the breakfast room was truly nice (by chance also Italian-speaking) and the same applies to the girls at the reception, which provide also a dependable concierge service (taxy, shows reservations). The location, as you can see in any map, is near to the major attractions, so we needed a tram only to visit Vysehrad. Everything for less than 100 euro per night, due also to the time of the year and the discount for prolonged stay. If you would want find a flaw at all costs, you can notice that they probably can’t offer “a room with a view”, but in Prague you enjoy so many great views all day, that you can survive without a view from your hotel room.

what a wonderful hotel!!
We chose this place from the reviews here on trip advisor, and the reviews were spot on!
Location was excellent, a 5 min walk to old town square. walking distance to all attractions. And a great beer hall a few mintues walk from the hotel, the u medvicdku. this beer hall is a must go. Oldest beer hall in prague and the food was great!

the hotel was very clean and quite. The rooms were large, which is rare in europe. we had robes to wear and they even turned down our beds at night.

they had free internet service which was nice since we had a hard time finding service through out europe.

the free breakfast was awesome! they had a cute little dinning room with an excellent spread of breakfast. they had eggs, breads, yogurt, granola, freash fruit, juices, and they even had food made to order. It was so nice to eat breakfast at the hotel and start the day off right.

the staff was very helpful, offered us directions and even a map. the hotel felt very safe. we even used the laundry service which helped since we had more traveling to do.

we really loved this hotel!!

This hotel deserves every one of it's 4 *. An old historic building modernised to high standards and decorated in simple, restful tones. Large bathrooms, firm, comfortable beds (& for a change, good quality pillows). Staff very polte and helpful, free internet and a varied buffet breakfast offered from 7 - 11 am! So near the centre (most attractions within walking distance) yet so quiet. The added bonus of being completely non-smoking. We couldn't fault this hotel in what must be one of the loveliest cities in Europe.
Please note sensible boots/shoes with non-slip soles a must in Winter.

booked this after searching on trip advisor. amazing hotel, clean, modern, huge rooms. staff very helpful, great choice at breakfast. only 4 years old so everything still looks new, furniture modern, decor bright. you will not be disappointed. takes about 5 mins to walk to old town square, easy once you know which roads to take, very handy for everything.

We stayed here for 4 nights and it lived up to all we'd read on Trip Advisor. It's in a quiet street opposite the police station yet is literally 5-10 mins from the central attractions. The hotel is very clean and well decorated; rooms are large, high-ceilinged and airy. A large well equipped bathroom and separate dressing area were also much appreciated. Free wifi is standard. The breakfast buffet was one of ther best we've enjoyed (inc 5 star hotels around the world) and enough to make lunch an optional extra! I'd emailed prior to the visit and had prompt replies in excellent English. In this way, we booked the taxi transfer from the airport for the going rate - saved a lot of uncertainty grabbing a cab. All in all a very good value stay and we'd have no hesitation in recommending the Unitas to even our most critical friends

Amazing hotel: incredibly comfortable, spotlessly clean, huge high ceilinged rooms with huge beds, lovely breakfast, free DVDs and internet and all in a great location for less than £100 per night. And the Konvikt bar on the same street is one of the best we found in the city!
