“We´ll be back!!!”
Reviewed 8 September 2011

“The Josef is not only very good.As a matter of fact, is spectacular!!! Very well located, modern, clean, and with a very professional and kind reception staff (Christina,Oxana, Eva &Felipe) who don't measure efforts to keep you as comfortable as possible, from making all the possible reservations requested (theatre, transportations,...)to even providing a "package breakfast "for a very early check-out.
I belive that the best way to thank them is to write this review.”

We just got back from a two night trip in Prague (staying at the Hotel Josef). We were in the Orange House (there are two buildings -- orange and pink) room 213. The room had a view over the courtyard where breakfast was being served. The room was reasonably sized and my girlfriend loved the Aveda products in the bathroom. The hotel itself was situated close to the main sights in the city, but far enough away to be quiet in the evening. The staff were some of the friendliest we've met on our travels. Thanks again to Hotel Josef for helping make our trip to Prague an enjoyable one.

We stayed 3 nights recently at the Hotel Josef and were very pleased. We were greeted with welcome cocktails (I think because I booked directly on line with the hotel) and everyone was very helpful and nice. Our original room was in the pink building but was facing the street with potential for noise so we asked for a quieter room and were given one in the orange building. It was near the courtyard and breakfast buffet room. The room was nice (except the carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced) and had everything we expected: Spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, Aveida toiletries, a safe large enough for our laptop, and a very comfortable bed; always a plus! The staff at this hotel could not be nicer! Everyone, including Christina (at the reception desk) and Micheal (bellman who was new to the job but very helpful and outgoing), the bartenders and the restaurant staff were all very attentive and helpful! We will definitely stay at this property when visiting Prague again!

Located in secluded part of the town, but with great access to most of the landmarks. This is a nice hotel - the designer part is more for the show in the title, than the actual details, with extremely helpful stuff.
Would definitely recommend it as base camp for visiting Prague.
Added bonus (for those, that will see Prague in the night) is the late breakfast...

Room Tip: Get the top floor rooms.

On a 5 day family stay we were treated like royalty. From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful and attentive, our rooms were spacious and spotless and we just loved the modern feel and the beds were so comfortable. The highlight to our stay had to be the breakfast, we have stayed in many hotels around the world and the breakfast at HOtel Josef is by far our best yet, the staff cater for every taste and culture with daily specials that were to die for! And once again the staff at breakfast were always there to help with a warm welcome and lots of smiles - we will always make sure to stay at Hotel Josef when we visit Prague again. Thank you for making our break memorable.

Arrived in Prague by train from Germany for our 3rd visit. Big tip here, if you want a taxi at the train station, go to the Information Desk and get them to book for you. Avoid the Yellow Perils at the station unless you have deep pockets. I was quoted CzK900 (£33) for a 2km journey but walked away from the offer. One of the drivers caught up with me and offered CzK480 including tip. We finally settled for CzK400 (£14). On checking in at the Josef the staff found it amusing that I had managed to get there for CzK400 as some travellers get hit for CzK1200 (£44). I was told that getting a taxi from the Info Desk would be about CzK200 (£7). Lesson learned.

Back to the Josef, we found it the boutique hotel we had hoped for. Very clean, very modern and very white. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was big enough for our needs and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with buffet and fresh cooked options. My wife found cheesecake available which is a first for breakfast. We were lucky to get a 3 nights for 2 deal which made the cost very affordable. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the main square and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes in the area.
The gym and sauna are small and very quiet during our visit. If you want to use the sauna you have to give an hours notice so it can be heated up (that's a first for me).
The hotel offers their own in-house cars if you don't want to use taxis and the price, although a bit more expensive well worth it (haggle the price at reception to get it nearer to a taxi fare). It made a nice end to our holiday being whisked to the airport in a very well equipped executive car driven by a chauffeur.

Prague is one of our favourite places and still affordably cheap but getting more expensive each time we visit.

I was happily shocked to see how close to the Old Town Square, and yet away from the tourist crowd this hotel was. I accompanied my husband who was in Prague for business. It was awesome being able to walk alone simply everywhere, down the Old Town Square, across the Charles Bridge, up the hill to the Vitus Cathedral and all the way back again. The decoration of the hotel was modern, but not sacrificing comfort. Not traditional Czech at all, but having enjoyed the city throughout the day, I welcomed modern comfort at night. Breakfast was excellent and I enjoyed eating in the silent garden very much.
