We enjoyed a recent 4 night stay at Hotel Josef. The room was modern, quiet, very clean, and spacious by European hotel standards. There is a small refrigerator in the room, and we appreciated that there were 2 chairs so both of us could work at the desk. Wifi worked well. The hotel is well situated close to the heart of Prague and we could easily walk to the old town area, Jewish quarter, shopping streets, etc. The breakfast buffet, included in our room price, was extensive and well-prepared. Everything from fresh breads, croissants, cereals, yogurt, fruits, eggs, bacon/sausage, cooked vegetables and tomatoes, many excellent cheeses, ham and salami, 2 juicers and assorted vegetables to make your own juices and two blenders with assorted fruits and liquids to make your own smoothies. As if that isn't enough you can order one item from the menu each day, such as an omelet, eggs Benedict, pancakes, or toasted croissant with mascarpone cheese. Unusual for this area, the hotel has a below ground parking garage, but it is not for the timid: it is the smallest, steepest garage I have ever seen! The hotel's business center is well equipped with Apple computers, and we heard from colleagues that there is a gym, but that the opening time in the morning is too late for most business travelers. We never went to the gym but probably should have after eating all those breakfasts! The hotel staff are friendly and super helpful and, after a few nights, we felt like family. When we sat in the lobby watching the World Cup games, the lobby bar provided us with glasses for our own wine, and peanut snacks, with no charge. The only thing during our stay that was not positively outstanding was one day when the housekeeper saved our wet towels even though we had requested a linen change. She folded and rehung them and they were still wet when we went to use them. The manager was very apologetic and had fresh towels sent up. Also, bring your own hair conditioner. The stuff provided by the hotel is so thick, it takes 10 minutes to get it out of the bottle! The room rate of approx 150 euros per night (parking extra) seemed to us a good value. We would definitely stay here again if we come to Prague.
