We went to this hotel on the 6-8 Feb 09, it is located very central to the main attractions of the old town hence location is just fantastic.
The streets looked run-down, do not let them deceive you, once you find this hotel, it is absolutely stunning. The entrance is well illuminated, the staff were cordial and pleasant at all time during our stay.
Our room was comfortable and perfect for its cost. We had some issues with the internet and it was quickly resolved. The internet is free which is a plus plus. OHHH also they can provide you with a i-pod docking sound system, just wonderful.... it is interesting how little things like that just make your stay so much better.

We had breakfast, we both agree that it was just wonderful, great selection of food and they make Eggs Benedict!!! We really felt that the staff were just amazing... and made us feel sooo comfortable.

We definitely going back to this hotel when we go back to Prague.
Highly recommended!

If your going to Prague look no further than the Hotel Josef. The hotel is very modern, The rooms very very clean and airy. ALL of the staff very amazing helpful polite and nothing to much trouble. The location was perfect 5 min walk to the old town!! They recommended very good restaurants and advice on what to do should you require ithe breakfast was very good and they went out of there way to give you whatever you wanted, and cooked to how you wanted it. Presentation of the food was outstanding! . If you dont know where to stay.... give this a try! Would go back again!

We spent five days at the hotel when we went to sightsee and visit the Christmas Markets. Nothing was a trouble to the staff, the rooms were immaculate and breakfasts out of this world. As it is central it is the ideal spot for exploring.
It was my husbands second visit to the hotel and he was impressed that he was welcomed back in a letter left for us.

We stayed in Prague in November 2006 - Prague is a wonderful city, very easy to get about. Lovely buildings and very friendly people. Josef was recommended by friendsand althought it is a very nice hotel in a good position the actual rooms are quite small. We stayed in once of the rooms on the top floor with a small balcony. The showerroom & wc are entirely made of glass and there is not much privacy, would not recommend these particular rooms unless you know your companion very well The breakfast is lovely with lots of choice. Service was excellent. We arranged for the hotel car to meet us and take us back to the airport which was very efficient, the driver was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent english and it was worth paying a little extra for this service.

  • Liked — ultra modern architecture, location, services, breakfasts
  • Disliked — small bedroom, lack of privacy in shower room and loo

Although the design of the hotel felt initially a bit stark we warmed to it very quickly. The staff are very helpful and kind, the furnishings of the standard room are of a high quality (bed, bathroom, wardrobe etc), the breakfast is great, the gym and sauna are just as you need it and location is very convenient. And all that for about EUR120 inclusive.

My friend & I have just returned from a 3 night stay in the Josef.
I cannot fault the hotel. The decor was very appealing, contemporary & exceeded expectation. Our room was larger than average, clean & the beds & pillows so comfortable. The bathroom was fab, floor to ceiling limestone with an oversized shower head & complimentary Aveda toiletries. We also had tea & coffee making facilities & the use of an umbrella. Even though we were near the lifts the room was very quiet.
The breakfasts were excellent, ranging from a wide choice of cereals, fresh fruits including raspberries & blueberries, hot breakfast, cold meats, cheeses & smoked salmon. A chef was on hand to cook you an omelette of your choice.
The staff were helpful, especially the concierge, and the bar staff very friendly.
We found the hotel ideally positioned, close to the new shopping mall Palladio, & within 5 minutes walk to the old town. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this hotel & will return.
I can also recommend the Lary Fary restaurant, a two minute walk from the hotel. Very good varied menu & reasonably priced.
All in all, on this my fourth trip to the city, I have yet to be let down by anything the city has to offer.

This was our second visit to the hotel and because we were quite impressed with the first experience we decided to book one of the superior rooms for our honeymoon in this case it was room 704.

After checking in and enjoying a nice evening we went to bed, at about 10.30 pm On the first night of our honeymoon whilst we were both in bed the door opened and we were met by two guests and a member of staff.

I was furious, however the reception staff were very apologetic and explained that someone checking in had the same name as me. This confused me as my second name is rare, However the manager at receptinon apologised and offered us Sparkling Wine for the next three nights of our stay. We received the first bottle but on the second night we had to ask twice for the Sparkling wine which was quite frustrating. On the last night the wine didn't arrive and by this time I was bored of asking.

Come on guys get your act together and communicate, the hotel itself is great however the rooms could do with a spruce up i.e new carpet curtains etc, but in this case the reception staff had their eye off the ball and to that end it will be my last visit to this destination

We would like to apologize for the mistake we made. The receptionist felt terrible about what happened and would like to once again apologize. We hope you enjoyed the other aspects of your honeymoon.
