“the perfect choice in prague”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2011

i know this is a four seasons so a certain level of attentiveness and luxury can be expected, but this hotel just does everything right. we were on my husband's corporate rate so i'm sure we got the lowest room category (and had no view), but it was very spacious with a huge bathroom, soft carpet, soft towels and comfortable bed. the concierge, particularly stanislauv, was a huge help with restaurant recommendations and other suggestions for things to do. the gym and the business center were also well equipped.
the only negative is the whole ground floor smells like cigar smoke, which came from the restaurant. hopefully one of these days prague will ban smoking indoors but i'm surprised the four seasons allows this. thankfully, all of the rooms are non-smoking.
one other suggestion -- if you need a taxi, have the hotel call one for you and then have the doorman negotiate the fare -- this seems to be the only way to avoid overpaying.
all in all, a fantastic choice in prague.

Room Tip: even the cheapest room was great

Prague has three really good hotels - the Four Seasons, the Augustine (RF Hotels) and the Mandarin Oriental. All three are in historic buildings which have been converted (with difficulty) into excellent hotels. Of the three, the Four Seasons is the best located for business and arguably the most convenient for sightseeing (the other two are on the Mala Strana side of the river). It is also the longest established of the three hotels and as a result some of the rooms are getting a bit tired. It's a toss up which of the three are the best choice. I usually go for the Four Seasons as the reception staff and concierges are outstanding and I also like the restaurant, although service can be a little slow at breakfast time. If one plans to spend a lot of time in the spa, then the Mandarin Oriental would be a better choice. My only real reservation about the Four Seasons is that some of the rooms (mostly the cheaper ones) look out on a busy road with noisy trams which keep going for much of the night. It is well worth paying up for a full or partial river view room as these are much quieter.

Dear Charlie 1001,

Thank you very much for your positive comments about our hotel and most importantly about our staff. It is also rewarding to hear that you consider the Four Seasons Hotel Prague as the best hotel in Prague and we thank you for being a loyal guest.
Your candid feedback is welcome as it allows us to improve the service which we deliver to our guests. I am in fact pleased to inform you that we are about to finish a multi-millions euro renovation of our rooms and suites, and I hope therefore that you will get an opportunity to visit us again soon to experience our newly renovated rooms. As far as breakfast is concerned, I apologize if service is not always to your expectation but please rest assured that this will be rectified soon with the future introduction of a beautiful buffet breakfast, in addition to the existing "a la carte" breakfast menu.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Four Seasons soon.

Best regards,

Olivier Thomas

Recently I stayed at The Four Seasons Prague; I knew of course the absolute prime location overlooking the fairytale Prague Castle and steps away from the Charles Bridge but what's also important to know is that its like coming back home. I had been on an around the world business trip; traveling to many cities and time zones for very short periods of time; The Four Seasons Prague was my last stop on my way home but I felt I was already home by the warm welcome and personalized service of the staff. From the most wonderful efficient yet friendly driver Jan at the Airport; to the Concierge Stan and Petr; the staff truly make you feel as though you are at home.

I highly suggest choosing the "Renaissance" room category which brings together modern efficiency with local products such as lovely Czech fabrics throughout and of course a magnificent crystal chandelier light fixture. The is nothing more luxurious and comforting to know that after a long journey you are going to slip into a signature Four Seasons Bed or soak in a most luxurious bath with wonderful L'Occitane products. Yes its quite expected but its also comforting to know. And its also the little touches which are classic to most Four Seasons but particular at the Four Seasons Prague: I had come home after dinner and after a long day to find a tiny little jewelbox sitting next to my laptop on the Desk; at first I thought it was the classic turndown chocolates and then I opened the box to find my loose change collected inside. How Thoughtful!! And that is exactly the feeling you get throughout; from check in to check out to breakfast in their lovely Allegro Restaurant; they have thought of everything there!!

Room Tip: Of course everyone who stays here wants a view of the River but it really doesn't matter so much...

The hotel is a classic four seasons hotel. The room we stayed in was just refurbished and was really nice. Not all rooms might have been refurbished though.
The only negative thing was the extremely slow check in process. The staff took about 20 mins to check us in. One of the best restaurants of town is also found at the hotel.

We stayed here for a few days before joining a bike trip. The hotel is well located with virtually all sightseeing destinations within easy walking distance. The hotel is a typical Four Seasons - lovely, but without much local charm. Our room was large by European standards and comfortable. We ate dinner one night in the hotel's dining room, Allegro, and were underwhelmed. We enjoyed a meal at La Finestra, another Italian restaurant in the area, just as much for a much better price. Bottom line - I would look around before defaulting to the Four Seasons on a return trip.

We stayed 2 nights in Four Seasons Prague in a beautiful duplex suite with view on the castle (room 334). From the moment we arrived, we were delighted : efficient check in, warm welcome, cute welcome gift : a very positive first impression which continued throughout our stay.

The room was beautiful. The view on the Vlatva river and the Prague castle impressive. The room was equiped with everything we wish and needed. Ipod docking station is always appreciated, so is the very fast internet connection and the luxury bathroom. Carpet on the floor is thick and stylish. No complains. Just perfect.

Also restaurant Allegro is worth a visit. We breakfasted on the terrace outside with view on the castle. Quite unique ! Food is high quality, service is impeccable. Prices are high but worth the money.

We also tried the Spa and they have a separate section for Manicure and Pedicure. We both agreed that this was the best we ever had in a cosy, relaxing environment. Strongly recommended !

Just one hick up : when we did a photoshoot in the lobby in front of the wonderful lobby flowers, a hotel clerk came to us to tell us that this was not admitted !!! That guests were coming out of the elevator and did not like that. We really do not understand that Four Seasons is tollerating such an employee behavior. Too bad the guy was not wearing a name tag. But again, all other staff was adorable and the service was very good.
