“The Prague Four Seasons is magic.”
Reviewed 8 October 2011

Great location, beautiful propert inside and out and incredible staff. Every moment from arrival to departure was magic. The front desk manager and staff know and love their jobs and their hospitality and warmth made all of the difference.

Our room was extra-ordinary, two levels, with a patio and view of the Charles Bride, castle, and Prague from every room. Just touring the spa area made us not want to ever leave.

If you aren't staying here on your next trip, at least visit the property for a tour and you'll see the difference.

We stayed in a large suite- room 601. There are 2 bathrooms, an entry hall, a very large living room and large bedroom. The view is the thing- fantastic views of the river, the Charles bridge and the palace and church across the river. The shower has a glass enclosure and good spray. There is a separate bathtub. There are nice lavender soaps. The televisions do not work well with the remotes and there are few channels. The bed is firm and the pillows are comfy. There is free coffee -pods that make espresso. The room is cold. It is decorated in business travel, not luxurious. Don't expect the Ritz Paris or even the Georges V. More like the Hyatt. Also, I had three annoyances- we were paying the US equivalent of $1750 per night. Yet, we still had a minibar where we had to pay about $9 for a small bottle of coca cola. For $1750 it should be free. Also, the business center only has 2 computers. Most guests were from the US and hogging the computers. Finally, the hotel quotes in Euros but charges in Czech crowns. The Italian restaurant, called Allegro, is absolutely outstanding. My wife had ravioli filled with figs, tomato fondue, borlotti beans, peppermint and crispy guanciale. I had a wonderful John Dory in a light broth over crispy veggies. The cheese course was outstanding. And the breads were fantastic. The price was reasonable considering the quality. Also, there is a good wine selection. The hotel has a wonderful location, walking distance to all the sights. Service was friendly and competent. Everyone is fluent in English

Room Tip: Take a room with a view- it is the best thing about the hotel

The Four Seasons in Prague is a nice hotel with a very good location, but it just doesn't stack up to other great hotels around the world! The construction of the hotel requires a map to get to some of the rooms in the hotel because you take an elevator then walk-change levels... We stayed in a two level suite which was nice but it would have been nicer to have it all on one level so that you could spread out more into the living room area and not felt like you were in a separate room. The bed was very comfortable and the quality of sheets and towels was very luxurious. The view from the balcony was a nice rooftop and partial river view but the railing was so high that you had to stand to see. We did not eat in the restaurant because of other plans, but we understand it is a top rated and expensive venue that is a memorable experience. The location of the hotel is great with a short walk to the famous bridges and Old Town. There are lovely shops and restaurants close by and within easy walking distance. This is a lovely hotel and will not disappoint you if your budget can afford it.

Room Tip: If walking is a concern, ask for a room that is off the main elevators and close to the elevator. Y...

What can you say about the Four Seasons other than it is the Four Seasons, and Prague is no exception.

The location of this hotel is central to everything you would want to see.  The view of the Vltalva River is wonderful.  The staff is impeccable, and they literally cannot do enough to make sure you are enjoying your visit, leaving you with the feeling that you are truly a welcome guest and not the person in room 301.

As exceptional as all the staff is, the concierge Petr was truly irreplaceable.  From the second we made our reservations, he was already assisting us with our stay via email.   He was not only very knowledgeable, and not only tailored his recommendations to individual preferences, but he was gracious and amiable while doing so.

The breakfast offered daily is superb and I would highly recommend it.

I do wish Four Seasons would improve their internet service, which is both slow and charged for separately, and provide water for guests in their room free of charge.  In this day and age, both of these points are an unexpected negative for a hotel that strives for perfection.

i know this is a four seasons so a certain level of attentiveness and luxury can be expected, but this hotel just does everything right. we were on my husband's corporate rate so i'm sure we got the lowest room category (and had no view), but it was very spacious with a huge bathroom, soft carpet, soft towels and comfortable bed. the concierge, particularly stanislauv, was a huge help with restaurant recommendations and other suggestions for things to do. the gym and the business center were also well equipped.
the only negative is the whole ground floor smells like cigar smoke, which came from the restaurant. hopefully one of these days prague will ban smoking indoors but i'm surprised the four seasons allows this. thankfully, all of the rooms are non-smoking.
one other suggestion -- if you need a taxi, have the hotel call one for you and then have the doorman negotiate the fare -- this seems to be the only way to avoid overpaying.
all in all, a fantastic choice in prague.

Room Tip: even the cheapest room was great

Prague has three really good hotels - the Four Seasons, the Augustine (RF Hotels) and the Mandarin Oriental. All three are in historic buildings which have been converted (with difficulty) into excellent hotels. Of the three, the Four Seasons is the best located for business and arguably the most convenient for sightseeing (the other two are on the Mala Strana side of the river). It is also the longest established of the three hotels and as a result some of the rooms are getting a bit tired. It's a toss up which of the three are the best choice. I usually go for the Four Seasons as the reception staff and concierges are outstanding and I also like the restaurant, although service can be a little slow at breakfast time. If one plans to spend a lot of time in the spa, then the Mandarin Oriental would be a better choice. My only real reservation about the Four Seasons is that some of the rooms (mostly the cheaper ones) look out on a busy road with noisy trams which keep going for much of the night. It is well worth paying up for a full or partial river view room as these are much quieter.

Dear Charlie 1001,

Thank you very much for your positive comments about our hotel and most importantly about our staff. It is also rewarding to hear that you consider the Four Seasons Hotel Prague as the best hotel in Prague and we thank you for being a loyal guest.
Your candid feedback is welcome as it allows us to improve the service which we deliver to our guests. I am in fact pleased to inform you that we are about to finish a multi-millions euro renovation of our rooms and suites, and I hope therefore that you will get an opportunity to visit us again soon to experience our newly renovated rooms. As far as breakfast is concerned, I apologize if service is not always to your expectation but please rest assured that this will be rectified soon with the future introduction of a beautiful buffet breakfast, in addition to the existing "a la carte" breakfast menu.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Four Seasons soon.

Best regards,

Olivier Thomas

Recently I stayed at The Four Seasons Prague; I knew of course the absolute prime location overlooking the fairytale Prague Castle and steps away from the Charles Bridge but what's also important to know is that its like coming back home. I had been on an around the world business trip; traveling to many cities and time zones for very short periods of time; The Four Seasons Prague was my last stop on my way home but I felt I was already home by the warm welcome and personalized service of the staff. From the most wonderful efficient yet friendly driver Jan at the Airport; to the Concierge Stan and Petr; the staff truly make you feel as though you are at home.

I highly suggest choosing the "Renaissance" room category which brings together modern efficiency with local products such as lovely Czech fabrics throughout and of course a magnificent crystal chandelier light fixture. The is nothing more luxurious and comforting to know that after a long journey you are going to slip into a signature Four Seasons Bed or soak in a most luxurious bath with wonderful L'Occitane products. Yes its quite expected but its also comforting to know. And its also the little touches which are classic to most Four Seasons but particular at the Four Seasons Prague: I had come home after dinner and after a long day to find a tiny little jewelbox sitting next to my laptop on the Desk; at first I thought it was the classic turndown chocolates and then I opened the box to find my loose change collected inside. How Thoughtful!! And that is exactly the feeling you get throughout; from check in to check out to breakfast in their lovely Allegro Restaurant; they have thought of everything there!!

Room Tip: Of course everyone who stays here wants a view of the River but it really doesn't matter so much...
