I loved this hotel, it was an authentic Czech style with antique furniture and gorgeous bed hangings
large sitting room and bathroom with bath and shower. Then there is the service the Manager Mr Roman Wylde spoke perfect English and was more than helpful. The service the food all up to standard! I loved the "Spa" part of the hotel, they offer massage ( I had a chocolate massage- yes you read that correctly chocolate.. just wonderful!) Lymphatic drainage was just so energising and a foot massage that was second to none. What I loved most was that it wasn't a huge multi storey hotel it was a very sweet "boutique hotel" so characteristic of the culture of that beautiful city -Prague. If you haven't been to Prague I highly recommend it. It was and still is the cultural centre of Europe.

Room Tip: I liked the rooms on the 3rd floor best.

I really wanted to give a higher overall rating, the hotel is nice, great location for reaching by train from central station or airport, friendly and accommodating staff with most of the trappings one would expect, although not quite a 5 Star property in my estimation. WE had a Junior Suite, very spacious and clean, could use a little updating in furnishings and appointments, but that is just being a little picky as everything was clean and in order. What really brings the rating down is the noise and vibration level from passing tram and presumably the underground rail as it was very noticeable, especially once the weekend was over and presumably more frequency with the workweek. This is really nothing they can help or do anything about but it certainly detracts. Otherwise dollar for dollar a pretty decent bargain for the money and location. Wife had Spa treatment which she said were very enjoyable, nothing exceptional but good value for the money, much like the hotel.

A great hotel with good value for money in a very central location for both the city and the castle.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Great breakfast.

Easy connections to the airport.

Would definitely stay here again on next trip.

Room Tip: Suites are worth the extra

Stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite and we couldn't have been more happy. The staff, accommodation, food and location were excellent. When we return to Prague, and we will, we will have no reservations about staying here again.

We stayed a week in a self-catering apartment across the lane from the main building. Everything was excellent. The concierge recommended some activities, and those we did, were first rate. We ate in the restaurant twice, superb food. The service throughout (maid for an extra pillow, desk for Euro change, porter to move bags, driver to the train station) was accommodating and friendly. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Astronomical clock with easy access to the rest of the historic centre, while being at the foot of the legendary Prague Castle. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Hoffmeister exceeded our expectations from the outset. The concierge (we think his name was Hanzo?) was beyond friendly and helpful and helped us to plan our activities in the city. The decor of the hotel is maybe a bit dated but we liked the traditional feel. We used the spa which was lovely and the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. After our first night in the junior suite (which was already lovely) we were kindly upgraded to the double-floor honeymoon suite with a large jacuzzi in the livingroom.

We loved Prague and staying at this hotel made our experience even more memorable. All of the staff at the hotel were lovely and helpful. We also used the hotel driver to get to the airport on our departure (which was 650 crowns, for info).

My wife and I made our first trip to Prague and stayed for 8 nights in June at the Hoffmeister Hotel & Spa. We arranged through the hotel to be picked up at the airport by a private car. The person driving was waiting for us on time and was genuinely very nice. Upon checking in like others here have mentioned we were escorted to the outdoor garden and give a nice locally produced wine. It was very good. Shortly after a very helpful person came ot give the low down of Prague and handed up maps and directions to the immediate areas ATM, coffee, and convenience store. He not once tried to sell us anything but did let us know the hotel would be happy to phone on our behalf any transportation, restaurant or tour reservation we may wish to make. Meanwhile our bags were taken to our room and expertly laid out for us.

Individual Ratings:

Hotel & Restaurant Staff: 5 plus stars. The best of the best in my opinion.

Hotel Room Accommodations (Junior Suite 206): 4 stars. The room was very nice but somewhat small. The biggest complaint for us was the odd layout of the bathroom and particularly the phone booth sized shower with doors on two sides that come together in the corner which causes a flood of water to end up on the floor outside the shower. In addition, the shower has a temperature knob that comes out about 8 inches and the slightest amount of movement makes you knock into it which it both can fall off and will almost always scald you with unbelievably hot water if it moves a millimeter. Ask for extra towels so you can put some down on the floor!!

Hotel Location, Looks and Comfort: 4 and half stars. The hotel is a little off the beaten path by one block. Which was our intentional preference. It is located litterally across the street from the path that goes up to Prague Castle,, and close by to many embassies and the Czech Parliament. The hotel is relatively small yet laid out very nicely inside and seems much larger than the outside would suggest. It is nothing great to look at from the street level but inside is appointed nicely. The lobby is small yet has just the right welcoming feel. There is a conference room on a lower level that I did not see. Wireless Internet worked fine for us. One nice thing was that we could not hear people in adjoining rooms or those outside in the garden patio even though our windows were just above it.

Restaurant: 5 plus stars. The restaurant I am guessing can seat about 150-200 with about an additional 50 outside in the garden patio. Without a doubt the food served at the restaurant for lunch and dinner was the best we had in all of Prague if not almost anywhere. Whoever is the chef deserves to be commended and recognized as one of the best we have ever come across in the world. The food is fresh, filling, and presented beautifully. Incredibly we did not have one bad item. We found ourselves coming back to the hotel to eat because every other restaurant we ate at was a such a disappointment in comparison. It is that good. The morning breakfast, which is included with the room fee, is not the best I have ever had but it was better than 90% of other hotel's fare.

Bar: 5 plus stars. The people who run the drinks know what they are doing and couldn't be more friendly. You know a place is good when one of the bartenders brought his dad in for lunch on his off day and yet came over to ask how we were and if we needed anything he would go get right then.

Spa: We only took advantage of the spa and steam cavern once. It certainly a neat looking facility but we are not the type to do those kinds of things.

We highly recommend the Hoffmeister Hotel & Spa.
