“Very good place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013

Nice quiet Hotel with good service and polite stuff
We were surprised how it was quiet in Hotel at the beginning of September 2013
Always empty little restaurant in the morning
Lovely variety of food - enough to have good breakfast

Room was completely tidy, cleaned every day.
Hotel has very good location.

Room Tip: if you need silence in the night ask the side of the hotel with another building view. Not on the ro...

Ok hotel
Room was noisy at night when fridge and air con on so had to switch off
The fitness centre was extra charge to use and I couldn't actually get in as 1 person had booked it??? This wasn't made clear so if you want access to a gym don't go here.

The Opera Hotel is located in a good position, close to the Old Town, in front of a metro station and an ATM (300 meters away).
It offers shuttle service to the airport at a good fare.
Even though check-in time is at 01.00 p.m., when we arrived in the morning we were immediately given a room with double bed and a shower – as required – and the room is large, although the last floor has a gambrel roof which subtracts room.
We were also offered a free drink in their bar.
There is free wifi, a tv, a fridge and a free safe-deposit box.
Breakfast includes also sweets – honestly tasteless – but better than nothing.
This is the end of the “pros”.
As “cons” let me go back to breakfast, served in a small area so you have to wait patiently for your turn to help yourself, almost everything is exposed and not protected at all and there are no pliers, so you need to take food with your hand, regardless of basic hygienic standard and of the risk of burning with the toaster.
In fact, hygiene does not seem to be a priority in this hotel: when we first entered the room we found a huge spider with its huge web – then we found other examples in the hallway – a stained towel and, what is worse, a hair under a pillow, which honestly disgusted me.
Room is very dusty, they should definitely clean up better, we always woke up in the morning with stuffed-up nose and irritated throat – stay away if you are allergic.
If you stay on the last floor be informed that there is no terrace and not even a window to look out (it’s on the gambrel roof).
The bed is quite short, if you are taller than 1,8 meters you will sleep with part of your legs out of it.
WC bowl is made of plastic but at least the bathroom is new. Once we were given a roll of toilet paper already started by someone else.
Apart from the check-in we have never had the opportunity to talk to the reception staff as there was only one person and there were always people waiting to check-in or something. For the little we experienced, staff is not welcoming at all – which actually is quite common in Prague.
All considered, I think the standard of this hotel does not match at all with its category (4 stars superior) and its level of cleanliness is definitely inadequate even for a low budget hotel – in fact I have stayed in lower-level hotels much better than this - so I cannot recommend to stay here.

Room Tip: If you stay on the last floor be informed that there is no terrace and not even a window to look out...

The hotel is well situated very near the many tourist attractions of the old city of Prague and easily accessible on foot without need for public transport. Small room but well equipped with a mini-bar, two easy chairs, very clean and comfortable shower and bathroom. Free wifi in rooms. A good breakfast which sets guests up for the whole day served in a small but well furnished breakfast room. Breakfast is included in the price of the room. Very efficient and friendly reception staff who were ready to answer all questions and to offer assistance regarding tourist destinations in Prague. A pity that entry to the fitness facility entails extra payment. Very good quality for money.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room overlooking a city street and heard no noise whatsoever.

After checking out of the Hilton - I landed here - client wanted me to be near highway for daily trip outside the city. In the lobby, I was greeted by a very friendly front desk staff (both shifts) that were extremely helpful and pleasant. The slight smell of stale smoke was concerning - but when I got to my non-smoking room, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was large - with very high ceilings. The fit and finish was very old school - two parlor chairs and writing desk and small flat panel TV. The bed was very firm - but for me that is a plus. The room did offer both wired and wireless internet service free of charge. The service was not super fast - but more than functional. Breakfast was also included in the room rate (80E - mid summer). Breakfast rolls were fresh, as was the fruit. Decent coffee to start the day. Full laundry service - good value for a mid-city hotel for sure - quick and efficient. Although a very different travel experience - the hotel offers a friendly, helpful staff, simple but clean rooms, and great value for money - 10 minutes away from old town square. Only comment is I wish there was a hook for the shower handle - as other have offered - the handle only shower is not the easiest thing to use. All in great place for the money.... Recommend, especially if traveling on a budget and a good meal is more important than an expensive room in a major brand hotel.

It is very near to the metro station, and it's literally in front on tram stop. We stayed on the top level, our room is very clean neat and quiet. We loved the room.. basically can walk to every attraction from the hotel but if you tired to walk, the metro also are very convenient. Florenc metro station is just 2 stop away from prahni main train station.
We are very enjoyed our stay here. I will definetly stay here if I return to Prague.

Room Tip: Don't be deceive by their hotel appearance. It's really nice when we get into the hotel. Ask...

Stayed there for a day in Jul. The location is so good - across the street from Florenc tube station (yellow line and red line), 5 minutes walk to the Palladian shopping centre, the clock tower and the centre full of bars and restaurants and shops.

The hotel has a very classic look but it was actually renovated in recent years so things are new and clean.

I have to mentioned that the staff are so friendly and helpful. Not in an in your face fake smile kind of way, but in a quiet and considerate way and they go out of their way to meet your need, even after you've already checked out.

I will stay there again next time!
