“Very good 3 star not 4.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2012

I just got back from Prague and stayed at this hotel. The rooms were nice and were similar to what one one find at a Mariott Courtyard. There is no bar or restraunt other than the breakfast room. I only paid 50 USD per night. So that being said I cant complain. Just do not come here thinking you are getting Hilton or Marriott. Think Hampton Inn. Like I said it is a higher end 3 star hotel but it lacks the amemities of a 4 star hotel. Hotel should add a bar and spruce up the lobby. Then maybe they will meet the mark. If I would have been here in July, and did not have a/c and was paying over 100 USD per night, I would have felt very ripped off. So that being said would I recommend the hotel? Yes, if you can get the room for under 60 USD per night at a time when a/c is not needed. You get what you pay for, remember that.

Ok - so you have to take the tram one station to this hotel from the main station but from there it is literally a 5 min walk to the hotel. We have been coming here for 8 years now and for the price we pay - it is lovely! Breakfast has improved trmendously which is great as well. Maybe the beds could now use an upgrade too :)

It was our first time in Prague, but not last. The room was splendid - clean and very large. It is really like a queen's residence - with large and functional bathroom. The dishes at beakfast varied. Everything was very fresh. The wi-fi also was good. The hotel is situated in a calm place, but in less than 5 minuites you can reach the center of the city by tram. Special thanks to the staff - always friendly and are ready o give an advice(thank's to the recommendation of "Kopyto").
We enjoyed our stay there and will not hesitate next time to stay again there.
But still there was one disadvantage - there was very loud door and sometimes we heard it closing, but I am not sure it was a hotel fault - may be a case of careless neighbours.

The Ariston Hotel in Prague was spotless throughout and the staff was outstanding. It is an easy tram ride (3 stops - less than 5 minutes) to the main square with only a short walk to the city center. Only drawback was the lack of air conditioning which can be a problem in August. That said it was a great value and we will stay here if we ever visit Prague again.

Room Tip: Recommend getting a room that does not face the street.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2012

Stayed here for 5 nights as a base for exploring the country by train as well as Prague itself. The hotel is situated a 15 minute walk from the city centre, a reasonable walk by day but the area is slightly tacky. I'd recommend getting the tram to the stop just down the road and walking the short distance to the hotel if returning at night.

The member of staff on duty was informative, telling us about the transport links around the hotel.

Unfortunately our room was stiflingly hot, the windows having been left closed and the fact that there is no A/C whatsoever. Even a desktop fan would have been reasonable, something I've even had in a couple of low-budget places in the past, but nope - nothing. The problem then was the noise in the room when the windows were opened. Noise from traffic and passing trams (our room faced the road outside the front) was deafening when rising upwards and echoing against the buildings. This caused some difficulty getting to sleep (as did the flat pillow) and woke us up rather early in the morning, but due to the lack of any cool air there was no other choice.

Shower gel and shampoo is provided free of charge however the room did not have a shower rail/curtain despite having a shower, so if like me you prefer showers to baths, beware as the floor may get wet.

Breakfast was ok, the same selection of continental things every day but it was enough to keep us going until lunchtime. The bread seemed a little on the stale side though.

Considering the price and the star rating I was expecting more. Location is good, but hotel is old and somewhat crumbling.

I stayed 4 days in Prague and liked the Ariston Hotel very much. The staff at the reception is very friendly and willing to help wherever they can, they speek a lot of languages too :-)) the first 3 nights I spent in a 3 star room, which was very quiet, beds where good too. The last night was in a 4 star room, which was even nicer- Great service for a great value in perfect location: walkable distance to the busterminal, trainstation and to the old town, where you can also get by tram in about 10 minutes. I´ll be back for sure!
