“Decent hotel, location questionable, watch out for cleaners!!”
Reviewed 16 May 2014 via mobile

We stayed in the patio hotel which is situated opposite the main hotel which was quite irritating at times as the reception in the patio wasn't manned so we kept having to go over the road. We stayed on the third floor where the wifi didn't reach which was very frustrating - again we had to go over the road to get it.
Watch out for the cleaners - on our first morning (at 8am!!!) the cleaners were very noisy outside our room and were shouting to each other - this went on for ages...then...a cleaner walked in our room! She walked in and knocked at the same time so didnt even give us time to tell her we didn't need our beds made - I was very annoyed about this considering it was early and we had had a tiring journey to Prague.
The location is questionable - the walk into the city sees a lot of homeless people and we saw people taking drugs (you will see two coaches under the bridge where they all gather) You can walk in to the city in 15/20 mins but it is on a hill so walking back can take longer!
Can take a tram but we decided not to. There was a kettle in the room and fridge which was a bonus! The rooms are big and clean. We had a room by the road - wasn't too noisy. Beds were very comfortable.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

This hotel is a very good value for a money. Cosy and clean rooms with nice bathrooms. Very good starting point for a trips around turist attractions. We can honestly recommend this place,no complaints at all.

This hotel is reasonably priced and very good quality . I would agree with an earlier reviewer , it is more 3 than 4 star . The shower is very small, the doors open inward and this is a problem for large people. Soundproofing is very bad and it is time to change the floor . The breakfasts are good but monotonous .
The staff was friendly and helpful
The location of this hotel is good, a few tram stops from Wenceslas Square , it only takes a few minutes to get there. It is also about 30 minutes walk from Old Town Square .
Maybe in the future I will go back to the hotel again .

This hotel is reasonably priced, and very good value. I would agree with an earlier reviewer, it is more a 3 than 4 star, but nevertheless the standards were good. Excellent bathroom, comfortable and warm rooms with plenty of space. Some noise from the corridors, wasn't a problem for us but might be for light sleepers. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a fairly average continental breakfast. We were really pleased we chose to stay here; it was easy to get into the city's main attractions, but offered a stay at a much better price than the hotels in Prague 1, likely to the same standard as many. It was roughly a 30 min walk to the Old Town square, or there is a tram stop outside which takes you into the town centre in minutes. Trams are very regular, we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. You can also get to Mala Strana by tram from here easily within 30mins. Definitely recommend if you are simply looking for a comfortable bed for the night, maximising spending money for enjoying the best of Prague!

The Hotel Ariston had a friendly staff. Our room was absolutely huge! The bed was not comfortable but it worked for our 3 night stay. The hotel was a distance from the attractions and the metro is difficult to figure out compared to other cities however- the staff was helpful with navigation.

I have been staying here since November 07 and January will mark my 6th trip. The location of this hotel is ideal and about 5 tram stops from Wenceslas square, it only takes a few minutes to get there.

I have not stayed at the patio and the experience comes only from the main Ariston hotel. We have had different rooms and they have always been good. You used to be able to smoke in the rooms but then the european ban came in they stopped this which is a shame.

Basicially opposite is a Herna Bar which is 24 hours and has some cheap prices as you are out of the tourist trap. We have never had a problem in here and it has a lot of charm. Please be careful in the area on a night, I had my wallet taken walking up the main road in 2008 and still do not know how it was done. They are very clever. The hotel is very close to a football ground so can get busy on a match day. And I mean very close. Also there is a newsagent and souvenier odds and sods shop right next door run by a chinese couple.

Security is good at the hotel on a night. The main door is locked and you need to buzz the night porter for entry. Not a problem when he knew our faces and we practically fell through the door's manier nights.

A great choice for anyone who wants a good base to work the magic of prague from.

When I stayed for 2 nights, I used this hotel in Ariston Patio.
There is a small patio, and the entrance of the room is faced with it.
The room is equipped with frig, electric kettle, and coffee sets.
Our room has only shower, not with bath tub, however, very convenient to use;
affluent water and very hot water (for JPN, it's very important).
In the bath room, they have the equipment to dry towels, so we can wash our socks everyday (and dry)!
The place is located at the nearest tram stop just 1 section to Central station.
It seems that the number of staffs is rather few, so freq. they are very busy to ask something.
However, they are very kind and friendly.
The linen of bed was very clean and easy to fall asleep, even if our room is on the road that trams are run.
The buffet as breakfast has "Czhec paste" other than normal menu; breads, eggs, jams, yogurt, sausages, and many drinks.

Room Tip: The entrance of the room is faced with the patio, and the other side of the room on the road trams a...
