I booked this hotel due to the location & the price as a 3 night stay via Jet2 city breaks for a family weekend to celebrate a 70th birthday.
After reading some reviews I was a little nervous. But I didn’t need to be!

This hotel is located in a pretty good location. 10/15 mins walk to the old square. Quite a few little wine bars, cafes, shops, Lidl supermarket, restaurants ect near buy. Church directly opposite. Some reviews reported noise ie church bells during the early hours - we never heard a thing! Bells only rang once for Sunday morning service.

This hotel is not the ritz. It’s not a 4/5 star as you’d expect in the UK as per Hilton standard maybe, but you get what you pay for. It is basic & in need of a little refurb but it’s clean. Our room was pretty big. We had a tv, hair dryer, mini fridge, table with chairs & lots of space to hang our clothes up. Our bed was huge! Bathroom quite a size too. This room was based on 3 people sharing. The hotel does not have air con however, which was a struggle in the June heat of 26/27 degrees. The room can get very warm but they do provide you with a fan.

Breakfast is the usual European standard. Very basic. Toast, cereal & some meats with a couple of hot items like bacon, eggs & beans. A little bit of fruit on the buffet would have been good.

Staff were mostly friendly & helpful. The very polite older gentleman on reception who helps with your luggage & is around at breakfast time if needed was always very nice. He was so polite & nothing was a bother to him.

I’d recommend if your looking for a budget city break. Remember comfortable shoes! Lots of walking in Prague.

Very basic hotel, rooms were clean but were badly needing some upgrading. Situated about 10 mins from old town square! The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic, there was very little on offer. There is no air conditioning anywhere in the hotel so was very warm and at times uncomfortable! This hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel and if we go back to Prague we would not stay at this hotel.

Good value hotel that is far from terrible although it's true that there's room for improvement.

Pros
Location, it is very easy to get to the old town square, metro and there is an abundance of restaurants, bars supermarkets and a great shopping centre nearby. It also located on a side street away from the noise of the trams and drunks.

Price
We had a great deal through easyjet. I cant imagine there are many other hotels at such an affordable price in central Prague.

Breakfast
Something there for everyone. Scrambled eggs are lovely.

Cons
Bathroom
Our loo could have done with a good bleaching and the shower was very awkward and difficult to keep on the wall over the half bath that no adult can fit in. Also would be difficult to step into if you have any mobility problems.

No air con
First night we stayed was very warm. There is a sort of ventilation system but it's not very effective.

Lack of plug sockets!
Sounds petty but it was a real inconvenience. The only one we had didn't seem to work properly.
TIP - use the USB port in the back of the TV to charge your phone.

No bar. It's true, there is no bar in this hotel unless you count the vending machine. TIP - the bar in the grand imperial hotel a short walk away does amazing cocktails.

Overall, it's not that bad for the price, a good base and fine if you're out all day.

This hotel is just a five minute walk from the old town square. There are lots of restaurants, shops and bakeries nearby. It is located off of the main road beside a small park area and lovely church. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are a good size. They have a hairdryer, a mini fridge for your use, a safe etc. The towels are replaced and the room is refreshed daily, you can put your do not disturb on if you do not wish this. Breakfast is provided at the hotel with hot and cold buffet between 7am-10am. There is no air conditioning in the room, and you are only given one key for the room on check in.

Stayed here on a four night trip to Prague with the Missus and pretty much enjoyed our stay here.

Check-in was pretty smooth if a bit slow and the receptionist was reasonably friendly and spoke decent English. There is a tourist tax to pay which was around 150c, so not much at all.

The room itself was more than adequate with a good sized comfortable bed, flat screen TV, standard cupboard and drawer space. The bathroom was a little run down and need freshened up, but a decent sized bath and shower. Hairdryer was also supplied. So as a base for exploring it is more than fine.

Breakfast was reasonably good too. Plenty of cooked and continental options. The only downside was that the room is not really big enough to hold the amount of people using it, and with the breakfast buffet in one small corner of it, it can become a bit of a bun fight, with people jostling and bumping each other out of the way. But the hotel can't be blamed for the ignorance of some it's guests who have no regard for others. The breakfast staff are very good though. Very friendly and work very hard to keep replenishing the buffet.

It's also worth saying that this is a very wheelchair friendly hotel, as my wife has to use one occasionally due to MS. With Prague being very old and historical, there is a lot of places a wheelchair will not get in, but is not a problem here.

Location wise is pretty ideal. Placed in quiet side street Namesti Republicky part of central Prague, it is only a short walk of around 5-10 minutes to Wenceslas Square, the Old Town Square, Jewish Quarter etc, and little further to Charles Bridge. So close enough to all the hot spots, but far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of the centre at night.

Whether this is really a 4 star hotel is up for debate, but when we come back to this wonderful city we would have no hesitation in coming back here.
