This hotel is right smack on Old Town Square, a large space surrounded by old churches, public buildings, restaurants, shops, etc. Within the square, street performers entertain, and food stands offer local specialties. The square itself is centrally located in the center of Prague--a perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel room itself was large and with a memorable view of the square. As a hotel room, it was nothing fancy but comfortable. Though facing the square, it was not noisy at night, as the square tends to empty out. Toiletries provided were minimal, so plan to bring or purchase your own. Wi-Fi was free and of good quality and consistency. There was no air conditioning, at least in the spring when we visited. Front desk staff varied in helpfulness and friendliness, but for us they ranged from great to adequate. The included breakfast buffet was wonderful, full of local specialties and with a lot of variety and choices. Personally, I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again should I return to Prague. I rated this place with only 4 dots because the hotel is not elegant or beautiful in and of itself and because front desk staff could have been a bit more pleasant, but we were very pleased with it.

Room Tip: Hard to go wrong, as I believe all rooms have good views, but a higher floor might be preferable to...

Having travelled from Vienna where we'd had an excellent stay at Hotel Capri with fantastically helpful and friendly staff, Hotel Lippert in Prague was a shock. Great location right in the old town square of Prague, but surly and unhelpful staff. Check in was grim; we had to complete officious forms "for the tourist police" wanting to know our birth place and date under the dour gaze of the receptionist (label on desk said Thereza). Getting into the hotel was a major ordeal as the door is sandwiched in the middle of the restaurant and not too apparent. The restaurant tables and chairs block the entrance to the hotel and we had to squeeze ourselves and our cases past a dour abusive Czech couple sitting at a table right across the entrance who refused to move out of our way. Tiny lift and then a flight of stairs that you have to lug your cases. Later on we asked for a late check out (we are staying 5 nights) and were told by a new equally surly male receptionist (whose name also appeared to be Thereza according to the label on the desk) that it was not possible to offer a check out later than 12. The room itself is comfortable with a great view of the square but we would have expected a much higher level of service for such a hotel especially as this hotel was booked as part of a tour package. My advice to travelers - look elsewhere!

Excellent hotel, staff very good and helpful, our room was lovely clean and spacious, with plenty of storage and ceiling was painted nice, bathroom was large, the shower was good and constant hot water, also there is a fridge with free water, beer and chocolate, which is a lovely touch and tea /coffee. The hotel is ideally situated to all the historical sites. breakfast is good and plenty of it and choice, however i would go down early, as it is kept hot on a heated drum. I contacted the hotel once booked they responded very quickly and in good English, the hotel was not noisy and even though where it is situated there isn't any noise from outside. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: My room was 202 which look out on the side, which was ok, however 203 looks out onto the square, whi...

Hotel Lippert was suggested to us by a family friend (who was planning to stay here a little while after us). We were pleasantly surprised when we realised that it was located right in the middle of the the Old Town Centre - We couldn't have been happier with this!

Our room was adequate, but there was no central lighting (we only had bedside lamps, which made things difficult to see during mid-winter nights) and our bathroom must have been located over the kitchen of the adjoining restaurant (also owned by Hotel Lippert), as our bathroom emitted a strange odour. The elevator is only large enough for one person and their luggage, so be prepared to take the stairs from time to time. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay here, with the included breakfast buffet having a 'home-ly feel' and the complementary water and wafer biscuit being a bonus.

We would most definitely encourage anyone to check-out this family-run Hotel in the best location of Prage, if you are interested in seeing the Old Town and are happy to explore on foot (Prague Castle and the Jewish Quarter are only 10-15 minutes away).
