My choice to stay at the Cloister Inn in April 2012 was based on my previous stays at this hotel several years ago.
You can't beat the location. The hotel in located in Old Town and close to all the main sights. It is nice to be so close just in case you want to go back to the hotel to freshen up or drop off your shopping packages.
I booked my room on Expedia and my e-mail to the hotel to verify my reservation was answered promptly. My room was in the older section of the hotel. The windows faced another wall of the building - there was a space between the two buildings - and it was great because it was so quiet. I was able to sleep with my windows open and I did not hear any street noise at all.
The room was decorated in a Scandinavian style - nice clean lines and simple furnishings. I had plenty of closet space to store my luggage and clothes. The free Internet worked great in my room on my Amazon Kindle Fire. Bathroom was extremely clean with good water pressure. Towels are changed daily.
Breakfast consisted of typical European fare - meats, cheeses, juice, bread, cereal, drinks, etc. The staff did a fine job of replenishing all items.
There are 2 computers to use in the lobby if you don't want to drag your laptop. In addition, you are able to have coffee, teas and cappuccino in the lobby (for free). You can also buy tickets for the tram or Metro from the front desk staff. That way you don't have to deal with the machines at the stations.
The staff is very hard working and I appreciate all their help in my recent stay.
Solo travelers will feel very safe in the Cloister Inn.
I booked the taxi for my return trip to the airport. The price was 550 Kc or 22 Euro. It's nice that you have a choice in what kind of currency to pay.

I selected the Cloister Inn because my first hotel choice was booked, and it turned out to be a pretty decent choice! The hotel provides free use of computers/internet in the lobby, as well as free coffee and hot chocolate- as long as the cups don’t leave the lobby area.

The staff could have been friendlier and the rooms could have been a little nicer, but it’s in a very good location- minutes away from the Charles Bridge, restaurants, pubs, Old Town Square, etc. Who goes to Prague to spend a lot of time in their room anyway??

If you want a friendly, clean, efficient and quiet hotel, convenient for the centre of Prague, look no further. I could use many superlatives, but will make do with saying that every aspect of our stay was highly enjoyable.
Friendly staff make a hotel. And here, the manager never seemed to sleep. He was always in evidence ensuring that everything was perfect. The ad lib free hot drinks in the reception area was a blessing when the February temperatures barely crept above 3 or 4 degrees.
The location is perfect. We walked everywhere from the hotel, not using transport once in 5 days.
It's pointless to repeat details that you will find in the other reviews. They should complete the picture for you, so I'll finish here with one repeat: Look no further!

Room Tip: The hotel does have rambling corridors and so try to book as close as you can to the main lift, mayb...

Great value and very helpful staff. Close to the center of Prague. Room was good sized, although the placement of twin beds (for travelers not related) was a bit close together. Internet service from the section where we stayed (4th Floor, A wing) was a bit uneven (never got anything higher than a "low" connection rating), but good enough to check and send mail. For some strange reason they don't pick up from the main Prague train station (which is actually not terribly far from the hotel), but from one further out - so if you are arriving by train (as we did from Vienna) and want to be picked up, make sure that you are at the right station. Fine breakfast, with rolls and coldcuts and cheese, so you can pack up a sandwich for later in the day. Coffee better in the lobby than in the breakfast room - and you can get coffee or tea at any hr in the lobby, which was nice after a day of hiking around Prague in the cool April weather.
No hesitation about recommending this hotel to a Prague visitor

My partner and I stayed at the Cloister Inn for 3 nights in February this year. The location was brilliant, within walking distance of all the major sights and close to two tram stops. It was close to shopping, supermarkets and restaurants, but was still set back from the main streets so it was quiet.

The hotel itself was very nice with helpful staff, internet access and free tea and coffee in the lobby. The rooms were extremely spacious, the size of a small apartment, we even had a little entrance hall. The bathroom was modern and very large and the room itself was high ceilinged, clean and spacious.

The breakfast was plentiful with a wide selection.

Great value, great location. We had a lovely stay at Cloister Inn and would definitely recommend to others.

My husband and I stayed at the Cloister Inn between the 16-19 April 2012. The first class service commenced from the moment we landed in Prague Airport and the hotel car was waiting for us (550 czk) each way well worth the money. The driver took charge of the bags and off to the hotel we went. On arrival the driver took the bags in to reception for us and a very pleasant young lady checked us in with smile.

We were then directed to our room on the 5 floor (528) the doorman/security showed us how to scan the key fob over the sensor on the door through to the lift (very small lift). On entering the room was much as you would expect (however we found the bed a little low). On the plus side the bathroom was huge.shower powerful, hairdryer, make up mirror also the in room safe was very useful (you enter your own code).

Breakfast in the morning was the normal fare in europe but I would say everthing was fresh and the lady kept everything replenished. The location of the hotel was very good close to the Charles Bridge, Astronomical clock in Old Town Square.

The restruant recommendation from the hotel (discount voucher available from reception) proved to be a good choice, short distance from hotel, quality food, good service.

There is free internet in the reception and tea/coffee available all day, a secure left luggage room is availale if you have a later flight.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Room Tip: Room 427,428 are right outside the breakfast room which opens at 7.30am so may be disturbed.

This hotel is in the perfect location for you to enjoy Prague to the fullest, Better yetm prices are very reasonable and the accomadations are modern and clean.
This hotel is centrally located and is within walking distance of Charles bridge, the powder tower, the famed clock, even the palace and St. Vitus are not very far and can easily make for a fun morning stroll. Better yet, it is surrounded by some of the best restaurants you will find in Prague. All are within just a few short blocks. No need for taxi service.
The hotel itself is immaculately clean and has every modern convenience. The rooms are huge and all are recently updated. The breakfast is more than ample, featuring fresh fruits, juices, eggs, delightful pastries, cereals, cheeses and sausage.
The service makes it even more special. When you arrive there is a very courteous doorman to help with bags, and if you are lucky, Martina will be at the front desk with her contagious smile and warm sense of humor!
It's a must stay when you are in Prague, you will not be disappointed!
