“if you don't expect much...”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

I stayed at the hotel Globus a couple of weeks ago and I can't say I was impressed with the quality of the service received there.
The hotel has a convenient location, close to the Chodov shopping mall, and the Metro station isn't that far, which is good. The surroundings are maybe one of the best qualities of the hotel, because at the back there is a nice terrace with benches, overlooking a huge park, so if you want to have a beer in the nature with friends, this is a great amenity. The neighborhood seems quite calm and safe so you can leave the kids outside without worrying too much about them.
The interior is a completely different story. Rooms are quite small and I got a room overlooking a tin roof (I could step outside and walk over it...yes, that close to the window), so imagine the temperature inside if you are staying in July or August (as I did). Of course, a room switch isn't an option since they are alyays full, according to the receptionist. The floors are dirty, there are holes in the doors (made by sharp objects I suppose), the furniture is worn-out and rather wobbly (I didnt dare to take my clothes out of the bag and put it into the closet because I was afraid it might collapse). The beds are worn out, uncomfortable, and the pillows are as thin as a blanket. The food was regular, the usual continental stuff (sausages, pepperoni, nutella and marmelades...), nothing too fancy but if you can settle to regular-quality food, you won't be hungry.
Anyhow, if you don't expect too much and just need a place to crash and have a high-calorie breakfast after a wild night out, this is the place for you. However, if you expect anything more than having a roof over your head, pay an extra euro and choose something else.

Room Tip: Don't take rooms at the ground floor, those are the worst (I had a brief look at it). The first...

We have just come back from having a four day city break in prague staying at the Hotel Globus. To get to the hotel from prague airport is actually quite easy. When you come out of the airport go to the tourist information office and buy a bus ticket. You can buy tickects for one day ,two days and three days. Three days cost us 310 ck but the same ticket can be used on the metro and trams. From here you catch the 119 bus from the airport and you get off at Dejvicka . The metro is next to the bus stop and this is a green line. Get on the metro and get off at museum and change on to the red line and then get off at Rozitly. The Gobus is directly behind the metro station a five minute walk. The hotel is clean and tidy but it does not have air con or hairdryers in the room. Breakfast is simple continental style but food in the pub at the globus is good and cheap as is the beer 33ck a pint. To get to the tourist attractions you need to get back on the metro from the globus and head for museum stop as you exit the station turn left and you are are at the top of Wenceslas square just keep walking straight and eventually you will enter the old town were the old clock is along with market stalls and street entertainers. The river cruises are very good value at 22o kc each for one hour excursion. Prague castle and funnicular railway is good. Certainly worth a visit to is prague zoo excellent day with lots to see get here by taking the 112 bus it terminates at the zoo. St cyrils crypt is also well worth a visit with history from the war and there are many churches to visit at a small cost. The food in prague is good but it pays to shop around as prices can vary try the traditional potatoe soup very nice. All in all Prague is well worth a visit there are a lot of police around so you feel safe one tip i will say dont change money at street exchanges please use banks they give you much better rates.

This hotel has very good price/quality ratio. We stayed there for 4 days-BB. Rooms are nice and clean, breakast is good and the staff at the reception desk was polite, ready to help and they speak quite good English. About 300m from the hotel is supermarket and 300m on the other side is metro station so it is very easy and fast to get to the centre of Prague from the hotel. Also there is nice restoran in front of the hotel. I would go back to this hotel if I visit Prague again.

This has been one of the worst experience abroad, very bad staff, very bad food and the worst place to be, never go there it's not worth while, there's no real good reasonwhich could invite you to stay there. Choose any other hotel, but not this one.

The hotel was good and provided a great choice of breakfast menus and we had a balcony too ! It was close by to the metro; which was literally just down the hill. The trains at the metro were so regular and quick and the language barrier did not become a worry as the Prague people were so friendly and affluent at languages .Charles Bridge was amazing and full of history as was Prague Castle. The Czechoslovakia food was very tasty .The Old town Square and the New Town square were so different and yet so fantastic too.A great holiday and recommended .

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony if you want to see the city life choose the front of the hotel and if you want a r...

We were in this hotel with whole family and we practically went there to sleep because we spent most of the time outside. So my comment wont be detailed but still I have to say from the first moment the girl at the recepcion was absolutely terrible - she did not even look at us at check in she was absolutely bothered by telling us any information - and it looked like she had another girl there for training so she was nervous on her too. Hotel bar sucks big time - waitress friday night was also VERY RUDE and throwed us drinks on table in horrible way!!! From that moment we prefered to go for a drink outside. Rooms are basic but clean - altough there is a big time bad smell coming out of a toilet aand shower pressure is so low that shower itself takes double the time as normal. But in general room was ok altough missing hairdryer! Hotel is spacious and big, breakfast good - food was nice and good choice. Altough girls - waitresses at the breakfast were more busy by talking to each other than taking dirty plates out and clean table for next guest. Parking area is good and distance from metro 4 minutes walking. Infront of the hotel is great restaurant KOLIBA which offered us amazing food for very good price. I recomend this hotel for those which want to pass by for one night or weekend as we did, definitely NOT for a longer stay!
