“JUST ok”
Reviewed 30 September 2009

Hello all who read this-
We stayed at the Hilton as we wanted something a little special for our 5th wedding anniversary
The 1st day was wonderfull= champagne and chocolate strawberrys on the house
many thanks for this to the Hilton
All was super but as the week trailed off so did the room service not what we expected from the Hilton
Room was super -view was super 6007 room number
although we had an adjoining room door -locked ok but you could here people talking late at night in this next room
Nice little weather notes left in the room but as i say as the week went on this special feeling tailed off
When you get to prague airport take the bus to the nearest metro and then to the stop nearest your hotel- it was so easy for £2 per person buy your ticket on the bus and its ok for 75 mins bus and metro use
if you take the shuttle its £30
if you get a taxi its £90
The czech people are generally wonderful and polite the only rip off we had was as you walk away from charles bridge there are places to have a coffee
-x 2 will cost you over £7- no change from 200 crowns
Do your self a favour and look around as most of the places charges are reasonable
and do seek out the little pubs for evening meals- they are are wonderfull and very reasonable-
BUT DO NOT expect Prage to be cheap- that it is certainly not
regards
ken

Hilton Prague is an average hotel; it is over rated for the fallowing reasons:
Rooms overlooking the highway are noisy and an not suitable for light sleepers, I requested a quitter room without success
Towels and bed linens are 3 star hotel qualities.
The receptionist is somewhat unfriendly and the waiting to check in or to enquire is lengthy, there is only one receptionist most of the time.
The food in the restaurant is of a poor quality and extremely expensive as well as the drink, you could pay as much as $15 for a cup of coffee
Do not use the hotel telephone for local or international calls, it is very expensive.
I will give it only 4 stars and not a 5 stars.

We have just been in Prague for five days and the service at the Hilton was excellent, we upgraded to an executive room which gave us a view over the river and uptown towards the palace plus a bit more space. Our only 'moan' about the room was that the bed was VERY hard - even by European standards! Aside from that it was spotless, newly finished - even the silicon in the bathroom was white and gleaming!

By upgrading we get to use the lounge for breakfast and any other drinks or snacks in the evening; on holiday this is a lovely treat as the lounges are always quieter when you have a later start and a beer in the evening is always welcome after sightseeing all day.

The staff could not have been more obliging, courteous and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them.

It is only a short walk to the tram (amazing public transport system in Prague, easy to use, frequent and cheap) or the tube if you dont feel like walking all the way to the Old Town so being slightly further out is not a disadvantage.

This is a nice hotel and a very reasonable choice when visiting Prague. The hotel is modern, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. We also ate in their main restaurant one night, and it was very good. Our room was a bit small, but we knew it was one of the smaller ones when we accepted it. However, the room was very clean and comfortable. This hotel is also within easy walking distance of Old Town and the Charles Bridge (about 15 and 20 minutes, respectively). The staff are very friendly and speak English.

We stayed at the Hilton Prague for four nights, and we had the best service we have ever had. From the doorman who greeted us to everyone who served us in any way, the service was wonderful. Our room was large and comfortable. I had read that the location was not good, but we found that while the hotel wasn't in the center of town, it was only a couple of blocks walk to the metro station. The metro was very easy to use. We were also warned about pickpockets, but had no problem with them. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

My husband and I have stayed in the Hilton Prague five or six times over the last few years and cannot praise this hotel enough. I think it's one of the prettiest hotels we have ever stayed in. To see the lights go down in the Atrium and the hotel with a soft glow from the indoor trees is just so relaxing. The whole ambiance of the hotel is one to savour. Everything you need is at your finger tips, so much so that a few times we have actually just stayed in the hotel for the duration of our short stays. From pool, to pampering, piano music reaching your balcony on the Executive floor finished off with a glass of sparkling Bohemian Champagne.....ah bliss!! The staff in the executive floor are by far the best we have ever encountered. Tereza and Adam make you feel like you have just "Came home" and attend to your every need with a smile! Russell makes sure you have EVERYTHING you could ever dream of for your breakfast and does as he says "Eat like a King and Queen"!!!. The rooms are comfortable, but the balcony just adds a special touch overlooking the inside of the hotel and has to be experienced. We have eaten in both restraunts and found the food to be delicious, but when you are spoiled with the choice of food served in the Executive lounge you really don't have to go anywhere else for food as this is in constant supply!! The only down side, if you can call it that, is the area the hotel is situated, it's not really very appealing and the walk from the hotel to the town centre is a little scary, down a lane and under a bridge, but only once were we approached by a man asking for money. Oh and I also would not recommend the Casino which is in the basement. The staff are VERY unfriendly and the clientelle were very suspect, I would suggest, having a little look, but I would not plan on staying!!, On saying that, this hotel has to be seen to be believed and we would HIGHLY Recommend it to anyone without a doubt, infact, we are going back next week....can't wait!!

My husband and I have just come back from a three night stay at the Hilton in Prague. We upgraded to executive and had an executive King Hilton room on the eighth floor. The room was very nice and clean but not as luxurious as the executive room at the Parklane Hilton in London. However, the executive lounge, gym, spa area and service far exceeded that at any other Hilton I have been to (been to the Hilton Metropole in Brighton, Hilton in Leeds and the Parklane Hilton in London). The staff were very attentive to ALL guests, however, Jena in the executive lounge stood out and gave us helpful information as regards the sights to see, nightclubs etc as well as attending to our every need. We went to the Czech Grill resturant which was excellant, we were seated where we could see the chef cook our exquisit meal (highly recommended). We also tried out the message centre (very good deep tissue massage) which we enjoyed. We enjoyed two nights at the in house casino on the roulette table and won £60 not much but we had a wonderful time (but do not take too much of an advantage of the free bar or you will start to gamble and probably lose money). What was a nice surprise was that in the executive lounge all the drinks (labelled) wine (which cost £30 at the resturant!) and breakfast (including the al a carte menu on the tables which I tried two things off the menu DELICIOUS), also cakes, breads, hot and cold snacks were served for free throughout the day at no extra cost, unlike the executive lounge at the Park Lane Hilton where alcoholic drinks were only served between 7p.m. and 9p.m with a very limited selection of canopies served in the early evening. We only purchased one meal which was in the Czech resturant during our three day break. Also check out the cloud nine bar which we went to on two of the nights, a really trendy bar with great music (excellant cocktails for between £3 and £5). The only thing is that if you dont make an effort you will not leave the hotel! I will DEFINATELY be visiting this hotel again which truly was fantastic and value for money.
