This was the best hotel that we stayed at during our 2 week trip to Europe in May. Wow! Hotel Julian not only had comfortable and homey feeling rooms, but was clean and extremely helpful in finding great restaurants to go to and assisting us in packaging the painting that we purchased while in Prague.
Rooms are spacious and clean, have great bathrooms and the hotel has an outstanding view of the city from its balcony (say hello to our friend when you get to the top of the stairs that go to the balcony, ha,ha).
If you don't enjoy your stay here-you won't enjoy it anywhere!

We have just returned from a 4-day trip to Prague - staying at the Hotel Julian. We really can't praise this hotel enough. It was spotlessley clean, our room was really lovely with ample room for two easy chairs as well as a fridge, TV, large dressing table, two side tables and 6ft wide bed. And all this in what must originally have been the attics (we had two rooflight velux -type windows). There was also a Roof Terrace where you could sit out with a drink and enjoy the fresh warm evening air as well.

As for location - several reviews have said they were worried about the location, but we thought it was extremely well placed, just a few blocks back from the Vltava River and a fairly comfortable 15-20 minute walk into the Old Town. Also only about 15 mins walk from famous Charles Bridge and all the beautiful spires, towers and buildings of Prage main city etc. If you don't want to walk much, there is a very good tram system and you can get tickets from the Reception desk - they also provide a booklet in your room informing what number trams you require for various tourist sites and the number of stops you need to travel before getting off. All staff were excellent and very helpful.

If you turn right when you leave hotel and just keep walking for about half mile, you come to the more general suburbs of Prague and the Metro station and up-to-date shopping malls and general stores as found in most cities.

All told, we have had a fantastic 4 days, but wished we both had new knees (we are both retired) and could then have made even better use of our time. Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone (though in fairness not a lot for kids to do there) and will certainly stay there again when we return, which we fully intend to do.

Went on a 6 week trip through parts of Europe. We initially stayed for 3 nights but we found the hotel to be far the best hotel of the trip. The staff were excellent especially the girl in the pub downstairs where the meals were excellent as well The people on the front desk were very friendly and helpful and we only spoke English and most of the staff did as well. They made an hair appointment for my wife and gave us instructions how to get there. The breakfast was fantastic with a good assortment of food, hot and cold. We then came back to Prague and stayed another 3 nights with the same excellent service. The hotel is very well priced , very clean, in a great location, has car parking and could highly recommend it to other couples staying in Prague.

Wonderful Hotel in a location just ten minutes from the City Centre. The Staff were friendly and efficient and all spoke English. The buffet breakfast was very good with an ample selection on offer. However, at the weekend the staff were a bit on the slow side to replace empty containers and had to be asked.
The room was comfortable, well serviced and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the room warm despite the freezing cold outside.
Excellent highly recommended.

This is charming and well run hotel located an easy 20 minute walk from the old town. Alternatively, trams are a block away, which will quickly take you anywhere you want to go in Prague. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet. Lots of breakfast selections were always available when we arrived around 9:00, and were quite tasty. Our only disappointment was the deteriorating neighborhood where the hotel is located. Nearby restaurants looked dingy and unappetizing, and the bars produced their share of daytime drunks using the sidewalk as a urinal. Although we never felt threatened, my wife and I chose to eat dinner at the hotel rather than venture out at night. We ate larger lunches in the old town instead. The hotel’s restaurant is very small, and offers a limited menu. But the food was well prepared, reasonably priced, and served our needs quite well. We’d give serious consideration to staying here if we were to visit Prague again. It’s a very nice place to stay.

My husband and I were picked up at the airport by the hotel driver, as this was our first time in Prague and arriving late evening we were unsure about public transport. The receptionist was helpful and offered us free complimentary drinks from the bar, as this was a special birthday/anniversary gift. Our room on the 3rd floor was very spacious, extremely pleasant and very clean. There was plenty storage, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities. The traffic noise was minimal and the location was ideal, just out the centre, within walking distance. The breakfast room was small with plenty to eat, buffet style hot and cold. The restaurant in the basement, also small, but the meals were lovely, especially the goulash and dumplings and a lot cheaper than town prices. The Tram is 2 minutes from the hotel, as is the shopping centre with a massive Tesco's funnily enough. Returning back to the airport was very easy to do, got on the Tram No20, followed by the Airport Express Bus, No 119, only costing 26Kc each for the whole journey. Tickets available from the Hotel Reception. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay again.

We just returned from a four night stay at the Hotel Julian and could not have been more pleased. The room was spacious, the bathroom huge and well appointed and the location was excellent. Most of all, the staff were professional and helpful in so many ways. We used the very convenient and easy to use tram system for most of our travel around town, combined with the underground subway system. The front desk sold transport tickets, which added to the convenience of our stay. The room noise was minimal, as the hotel is located on a side street and windows are double glazed. We found the breakfast to be plentiful and appreciated the healthy options of fresh fruit and a variety of yogurt. We also appreciated the well appointed sitting area, free access to internet and the hotel pub. We definitely would recomend this hotel for a stay in Prague.
