Chose this hotel because of the good reviews and good rates offered by Expedia for a romantic Christmassy break. I arranged for the hotel to collect us from the airport, for a fixed price of 590cz which was ideal as was raining heavily and dark late afternoon. Very welcoming staff along with log fire and festive decorations. Requested non-smoking room with shower cubicle which were granted. Our room was on the first floor, had no view and was quiet small but we appreciated the mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities, free movies and very modern bathroom. We were able to open the window for air and adjust the radiator in the room and bathroom easily and effectively. Only criticism was the hard bed which we mentioned to the reception staff. They agreed to put some extra padding on while we were out sightseeing but we didn't seem to see evidence of it later and slept no better. Breakfast buffet was limited but good. We had a sausage and bacon sandwich and freshly baked croissants which were delicious. We didn't make use of the roof terrace (wet and/or too cold), English pub or fitness suite as we were either walking round town or vegging in the room. There was some building work going on out the back that woke us up at 9am which was a bit annoying and later we saw a note on the front desk apologising for the noise but it was a bit late by then. We definitely enjoyed the slightly out of town location as it really isn't far to walk into town but the hotel was such a cosy haven out of the bustle we looked forward to walking back there. We used the Time Out guide for eating and drinking which served us very well and found us a trendy back street bar and argentinian steak house. A fabulous trip to Prague at such a great time of year.

I travelled to Prague with a friend for a 3 night city break and we stayed in a twin room at Hotel Julian. The hotel was excellent value for money at this time of year, and was easy to get to via the public transport system from the airport, saving us about £20 on a taxi!

The location was fine, easily walkable to all the main attractions within the city, and numerous tram stops only a minutes walk from the hotel. It took us about 15 minutes to Charles Bridge and 20-25 minutes to the old town square, but there's so much to see on the way, we didn't get bored of doing this walk! The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful - can't fault them.

The room itself was excellent, plenty of space for the two of us, lovely and warm, comfortable bed and all the facilities you'd expect, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities and even free to watch films on the TV! The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. We didn't have any problems with noise which you might find in a more central location, even though our room was only on the 1st floor.

Breakfast was included in the price, a wide range of cold meats and cheeses, cereals, fruit, breads, pastries and hot food - sausages, bacon and eggs.

I would definitely stay at Hotel Julian again.

We're, as a society, always all too quick to write a complaint, and I'll include myself in that.

I've just come back from a trip Prague - Vienna and stayed at the Hotel Julien on reccommendation from my boyfriend, who has been here a few times as part of a group.

I'm generally cautious of the booking he makes for us as I've arrived in many-a twin bed hostel/hotels rooms after a long day of travelling. I was sold by the open fire he had mentioned, afterall it is winter, freezing and nearly Christmas.

We arrived a few hours early to the hotel expecting our room not to be ready and to drop our bags off and leave for a day of Prague exploring. The reception is grand, yet cosy - in a lot of hotels this can be deceiving, but not in this case!

The receptionist on duty was genuinly pleased to see us and offered a very warm welcome. We gave our hotel booking details and he made a quick call, what we thought was the "is their room ready" call. He come back to us and told us that we had been upgraded. Lovely news of course. He gave our key and we made our way up to our room, past the lovely roof terrace, which was sadly closed as is of course the winter season. This apparently is perfect in summer.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff attentive and helpful and the location perfect. The room was big and spacious with easy to control central heating, the bed comfortable and cosy with lots of pillows, bonus! The bathroom spotlessly clean and gleaming, with the standard shower over bath. There was also a dimmer switch offering a "mood lighting" option.

Breakfast, again another winner and included in our rate. Prague breakfast is sometimes hit and miss, not in the case of Hotel Julien.

A lovely selection of cheeses and cold meats, bread rolls, croissants and cakes. Cerials and yoghurts, spreads and jams and teas and coffees. And then of course a selection of either scrambled or fried eggs with sausages and bacon. All are self service and have as much as you want.

I can honestly say that I have never felt so at home and so comfortable in a hotel as I did here. Perfect nights sleep and then a hearty breakfast to set you up for a day of exploring Prague.

Fresh towels as and when needed and the beds were made every day for us.

The hotel is dead silent and offers a drawing room where you can sit and enjoy drinks by the open fire after a day in the freezing Prague cold. With the use of the internet and printer for free, ideal for checking in online and printing boarding passes etc.

We didn't go into the bar or fitness/spa facilities but had a little nose and all seemed in line with the hotel, lovely.

I would have no quarms in returning again as my boyfriend did for his third time and reccommending it to anybody who would care to listen to me tell them how much of a lovely stay I had.

Chose this Hotel after reading reviews, must agree Its a little gem, perfect location no more than 20 min walk from main attractions ( comfortable shoes a must for cobbled streets!). Quiet, cozy, and friendly. Used Restaurent once very limited menu and they didn`t have it all, try the Meduzzy (sp) about 75m along the road into town. Tip if you want a beer in the Library ask for a draught from the restaurent( after 6pm) they will happilly bring it up 35 CZK (£1.20/Pint). For castle stay on tram 22 until it start to head left and uphill get off at next stop buy tickets at reception.

This hotel was one of those finds. Comfortable; secure; clean, and with staff ever ready and willing to help with how to get there advice - even making tram tickets available. I'm spreading the word to family and friends as we really liked staying here. A short tram ride to Wensuslus SQ and to the Castle area.
Hotel can arrange a private limo for pick up at airport (reasonable price for the travel weary) or a trusty taxi service - however once there, trams are just around the corner.
