“Fantastic hotel, highly recommended.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2010

We had high hopes for this hotel following the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disppointed. Located down a quiet side street about 15 - 20 minutes walk from the city centre it oozes charm and character. The logs fires in the reception are a nice touch and provide a warm (literally) welcome.

The room was spotless and surprisingly spacious, with a comfortable bed and ample wardrobe space. The bathroom was also immaculate and was kept as such for the duration of our stay.

The rest of the hotel was excellent. The staff were attentative, friendly and always very helpful. The bar/restaurant is small but nice with a relaxed atmosphere. Although we did not eat in the restaurant itself, the menu looked good. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold options. Definitely something for everbody.

The hotel offers a taxi service at a reasonable to take guest to and from the airport. We took advantage of this and found it much easier than the hassle of public transport. Our very friendly driver (I forget his name off hand) was bang on time this was a really nice touch.

We did experience leak from a bathroom above us which we reported, although this was not a major issue and id not affect our enjoyment of our stay. In short, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily stay there again.

A word of warning: when choosing restaurants in Prague, it is probably best to avoid the centre as you can get ripped off with so - called "service charges" if you're not careful. There are some lovely restaurants in the area near the hotel which do not do this. On top of that the food ws nicer and the service better.

Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Julian for making our stay a pleasure.

This hotel is a little hidden gem in an excellent location, 15-20 minutes walk from the central attractions of Prague. There is a tram stop behind the hotel with a direct route to the Lesser Quarter Square and to Wenceslas Square, and a 5 minute walk to No 22 stop which takes you to Prague Castle and the Cathedral.

The hotel appears to base itself on an English Country House hotel, but without any stiffness or formality typical of these establishments. The Library is cosy with it's comfy armchairs and log fire, and is a haven for British smokers more accustomed to standing outside in the cold! There are also plenty of non-smoking public areas, including the dining room and the TV/Internet area in the lobby.

The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable, with ample storage space, and the staff are extremely friendly. Only complaint would be twin beds pushed together and covered with a sheet to make a "double" bed, and a lack of plug sockets (meaning Mrs Fletche had to unplug the minibar in order to straighten her hair...). Oh, and for those of a nervous disposition, there appears to be free hard-core porn available 24/7 on Channels 16 & 17... maybe one to watch out for if you have children or are easily offended!

A varied breakfast is served each morning with cereal, cold meats & cheese, fresh fruit, pastries, eggs and a selection of bread, accompanied by coffee, tea and juice. Breakfast can be taken either in the light and airy dining room, in the Library, or back to your own bedroom.

There is a tiny bar and restaurant downstairs in the cellar, perfect for a pint of pivo of two after an evening stroll around Prague. Again, this is based on an "English Pub". There are also late check-out facilities downstairs, with lockable luggage storage and showers.

This is a wonderful base to check out all that Prague has to offer, and is highly recommended!

A perfect five. The warm and friendly staff are very helpful and considerate. The breakfast is delightful. The main sitting rooms are tasteful and encourage lounging, book reading and conversation. It is both romantic and charming. I highly recommend it.

Hotel Julian is located within walking distance to the famous Charles Bridge and Old Town Square, just on the edge of the historical Lesser Town, a few meters away from the Vltava River. We enjoyed the short hill walk up to the Castle everyday.
We had a spacious attic view room on the fourth floor and noise was not a problem. The bathroom was spacious also with a bath which was great for a soak after a long day's walking. On the fifth floor was a roof top garden with great views of the city.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and there was a computer with internet access in the lobby for residents use. There was a good breakfast selection but it ended promptly at 10.30am.
We would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay, however long, in Prague.

I stayed her during 18-Dec to 21-Dec 2009. The staff her were delivered excellent customer service during my stay. They were very energentic a looking after our needs. Dispite Air France delaying our baggage till the day we checked out. Mark and team on the front desk done everything possible to take care of our needs and insure we had a Great stay dispite not having our bag. The restaurant is great and well priced and the foods good too. The Library is very cosy with wood fire.

Chose this hotel because of the good reviews and good rates offered by Expedia for a romantic Christmassy break. I arranged for the hotel to collect us from the airport, for a fixed price of 590cz which was ideal as was raining heavily and dark late afternoon. Very welcoming staff along with log fire and festive decorations. Requested non-smoking room with shower cubicle which were granted. Our room was on the first floor, had no view and was quiet small but we appreciated the mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities, free movies and very modern bathroom. We were able to open the window for air and adjust the radiator in the room and bathroom easily and effectively. Only criticism was the hard bed which we mentioned to the reception staff. They agreed to put some extra padding on while we were out sightseeing but we didn't seem to see evidence of it later and slept no better. Breakfast buffet was limited but good. We had a sausage and bacon sandwich and freshly baked croissants which were delicious. We didn't make use of the roof terrace (wet and/or too cold), English pub or fitness suite as we were either walking round town or vegging in the room. There was some building work going on out the back that woke us up at 9am which was a bit annoying and later we saw a note on the front desk apologising for the noise but it was a bit late by then. We definitely enjoyed the slightly out of town location as it really isn't far to walk into town but the hotel was such a cosy haven out of the bustle we looked forward to walking back there. We used the Time Out guide for eating and drinking which served us very well and found us a trendy back street bar and argentinian steak house. A fabulous trip to Prague at such a great time of year.
