Hotel Julian is a bit removed from the hectic Prague old town, but has excellent transportation into the center. The rooms are not large but have very high ceilings; most interestingly, there is a vestibule that you enter before entering the room, which gives you two doors for blocking out sound. The hotel's history is described in the guest book in each room. My impression is that it is geared toward British tourists, but I may be wrong. The library near the lobby was very appealing, though I couldn't use it as the other guests used it as a smoking room. Given the old world ambience, I was surprised that the room included free porn tv channels. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was adequate, but not anything special.

We stayed in Hotel Julian for 5 days, in April. We have chosen it based on the reviews on Trip advisor, which were very useful.
The hotel is nice furnished, especially the reception-lobby and the restaurant. The rooms are ok, not very large, but clean. Our room had view to the courtyar, and it was very quiet. However, the street side was pretty quiet too, because there is no so much traffic.
The hotel is located close to the old city, about 20 minutes walk / 3 short tram stations. The reception offers you tickets, because there are not too many vendor tickets machines (at least not very easy to find). Walking to the old city, on the left hand there is a beautiful park, on a hill. It is worth seeing it.
Back to the hotel, we were very pleasant surprised that we could check in immediately after our arrival, around 9 o’clock a.m. and we didn’t have to wait until 2 o clock p.m., as usual. Check out is at 12 o’clock, but they offer you a luggage deposit for storage, and also a bathroom with shower and iron table, for late departures.
Breakfast was ok, not to diversified. The coffee was very good. About the restaurant we don’t have too much to say because we were all day walking in the town and eating in the town. However, the prices in the restaurant are ok, at least for the beverages. Another thing to say, for those who make reservation on booking.com, they offer a welcome drink, which includes beer/local wine/water/soda.
The reception stuff was very friendly and helpful.
Overall, we had a very nice and comfortable stay at this hotel. We recommend hotel Julian.

Prague was divine. The hotel Julian was located well, but the trams would be better to use, if they were not so confusing! It had a nice lobby, and I found the staff, particularly the experienced daytime girl, very helpful. I had a very quiet room facing the courtyard, however, the experience was marred by possibly the smallest and close to most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. But I did have a bath, which was very nice. Breakfast was quite good. I'm not sure about the fourstar rating, because of that bed, and the value for money, but the staff were definitely five star.

Have just come back from 3 nights at the wonderful Hotel Julian. Could not fault it! The service is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and well appointed, with LCD television and free pay tv, a well stocked mini bar and a large bathroom. The hotel has a lovely rooftop terrace, a cosy cellar bar and restaurant, and a library area. The breakfast is ample and varied. The location is good, a 20 minute stroll to Charles Bridge.
All in all, a perfect choice for Prague!

The Hotel Julian is a great find. Service was second to none, rooms warm, large and very clean. We were travelling with friends for a 40th birthday celebration. The hotel arranged a fantastic cake and wine and fruit in the room on arrival. We ate in the hotel and the food was lovely. The downstairs bar is very cute and the lounge with log fire was great. Free cake every afternoon after sightseeing was a bonus too! Location is also a plus, everything within easy walking distance and a tram stop just round the corner . Try the Jazz Club on the river just 2 minutes walk from the Julian, great bar and music!

We had high hopes for this hotel following the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disppointed. Located down a quiet side street about 15 - 20 minutes walk from the city centre it oozes charm and character. The logs fires in the reception are a nice touch and provide a warm (literally) welcome.

The room was spotless and surprisingly spacious, with a comfortable bed and ample wardrobe space. The bathroom was also immaculate and was kept as such for the duration of our stay.

The rest of the hotel was excellent. The staff were attentative, friendly and always very helpful. The bar/restaurant is small but nice with a relaxed atmosphere. Although we did not eat in the restaurant itself, the menu looked good. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold options. Definitely something for everbody.

The hotel offers a taxi service at a reasonable to take guest to and from the airport. We took advantage of this and found it much easier than the hassle of public transport. Our very friendly driver (I forget his name off hand) was bang on time this was a really nice touch.

We did experience leak from a bathroom above us which we reported, although this was not a major issue and id not affect our enjoyment of our stay. In short, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily stay there again.

A word of warning: when choosing restaurants in Prague, it is probably best to avoid the centre as you can get ripped off with so - called "service charges" if you're not careful. There are some lovely restaurants in the area near the hotel which do not do this. On top of that the food ws nicer and the service better.

Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Julian for making our stay a pleasure.

This hotel is a little hidden gem in an excellent location, 15-20 minutes walk from the central attractions of Prague. There is a tram stop behind the hotel with a direct route to the Lesser Quarter Square and to Wenceslas Square, and a 5 minute walk to No 22 stop which takes you to Prague Castle and the Cathedral.

The hotel appears to base itself on an English Country House hotel, but without any stiffness or formality typical of these establishments. The Library is cosy with it's comfy armchairs and log fire, and is a haven for British smokers more accustomed to standing outside in the cold! There are also plenty of non-smoking public areas, including the dining room and the TV/Internet area in the lobby.

The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable, with ample storage space, and the staff are extremely friendly. Only complaint would be twin beds pushed together and covered with a sheet to make a "double" bed, and a lack of plug sockets (meaning Mrs Fletche had to unplug the minibar in order to straighten her hair...). Oh, and for those of a nervous disposition, there appears to be free hard-core porn available 24/7 on Channels 16 & 17... maybe one to watch out for if you have children or are easily offended!

A varied breakfast is served each morning with cereal, cold meats & cheese, fresh fruit, pastries, eggs and a selection of bread, accompanied by coffee, tea and juice. Breakfast can be taken either in the light and airy dining room, in the Library, or back to your own bedroom.

There is a tiny bar and restaurant downstairs in the cellar, perfect for a pint of pivo of two after an evening stroll around Prague. Again, this is based on an "English Pub". There are also late check-out facilities downstairs, with lockable luggage storage and showers.

This is a wonderful base to check out all that Prague has to offer, and is highly recommended!
