Having just spent 5 nights at the Jewel Hotel we found this to be a perfect base for our holiday in Prague. Everything was perfect from the bed, pillows, shower and cleanliness of the room.
Although the Hotel is only a short 5 minute walk from Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square it is very quiet indeed.
The Continental breakfast was an ideal start to the morning.
As others have said the Staff were very friendly and helpful. Martin the Barman always made us one of his cocktails when we returned in the evening.
We would definitely recommend the Jewel Hotel.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay at the Jewel Hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; I cannot stress this enough. I was very impressed by their attentiveness and legitimate concern for our comfort and satisfaction. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Turn down service offered with a small bed time snack and weather for the next day. Also, bed time stories were a nice touch. A carafe of water with fresh lemon slices awaited us in our rooms upon arrival. Breakfast was awesome: fresh meats, cheese, fish, bread, fruit, vegetables, juices, coffee, and you could even order eggs from the menu.

Excellent location, extremely short walk to Wensesclas Square and Old Town Square. No elevator, but there is a lift for luggage, and the staff jumped to help carry our luggage up to our room.

Overall excellent stay for two nights in Prague. We will definitely come back to this hotel. Well done, Jewel Hotel!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Prague. The staff was very professional and helpful. The breakfast buffet including fresh fruit juices, homemade bread and a lot of other farmer’s products was delicious. Additionally, there was a choice from the breakfast menu. The decoration of each room is styled with a different kind of precious stone. My room was very cozy and clean with complimentary iced water and fruits. I was very surprised that the hotel is doing turndown in the late afternoon. My bed was prepared for evening together with slippers, towels, homemade pralines and a card with weather forecast for the next day. Also the bathroom was spacious with luxurious hotel towels and amenities tuned with the same colour of the stone as the Jewel

The hotel is very conveniently located in the old town in Prague. It is easy to walk from it to all the attractions in the city. It's only a couple of blocks from Wensleslas Square, (which is a big tourist trap), but the hotel is really quiet, you'd never know you are so close to so many people. The staff were excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. The decor reflects the name of the hotel "Jewell", and is really tastefully done. All the rooms are named after jewels and the colors in the rooms reflect the color of the gemstone in the name. The continental breakfast (included in the room price) was good. We ate in the restaurant one evening and that food also was well prepared and presented. Unexpected nice touches in the rooms included fresh drinking water flavored with limes or lemons and little pastries which were brought to the room every evening. Also a fairy tale each night.

The only very minor negative is the lack of an elevator, this didn't bother us, but the stairs are a bit steep and maybe a problem for some guests. There is an elevator for luggage.

friendly staff, excellent bartender, beautiful rooms, excellent towels and robes, wonderful bathrooms, generous breakfasts and a fabulous location for a reasonable price make Jewel close to perfect.
while most guests are probably couples, it would have benefited my stay with a friend if we were given two keys. the hotel didn't appear to have an extra key for each room, thus we had to choose between two keys for ourselves, or accesss for housekeeping. this seems like a basic for a high quality location. in lieu of a flat screen tv, i would have loved a clock radio or cd/ipod player...
also, the bar music is a little heavy on the club beat. this might be a problem for those in the amethyst room. it's also a little irritating if you want to enjoy the excellent drinks prepared by martin at the bar.
generally, a fantastic spot.

Hallo,
Thank you very much for your kind words which we really appreciate as well as your other feedback. Nevertheless there has been a misunderstanding with the keys I’d like to explain.
Each double room has it’s own set of 2-3 keys /based on the number of the guests per room/ and it is totally up to the guests how many keys they ask for. It happens very often that guests leave home with the keys and therefore we have enough of them in stock. I’d like to explain the “access for housekeeping” comment because that is where the misunderstanding happened. Due to the fact that we are small hotel with only 11 rooms our reception is open since 6 AM till 10 PM and all our guests get one additional key for the back entrance – it is not a staff entrance, it is a guest entrance. We inform each guest at check-in about the fact that we can’t provide them with the keys from the main entrance because it leads through the restaurant and bar which are both closed at night. We haven’t had a single complaint about using the back entrance after 10 PM before.
Flat screens are nowadays a standard in 4* hotels (clock, alarm and radio are all available on this flat screen TV).
Unfortunately we do not have a CD player or iPod dock but based on your comment we will try to fit our rooms with it.
We play chill out and lounge music in Jewe Café which really fits the concept of our restaurant. I think this is just a personal stand on what kind of music one preferes. The music is not loud and we never had a single complaint not even from the ametyst room on the first floor. If there ever was such a complaint we would deal with the situation imediatelly because the comfort of our guests is a priority for us.
Thank you for reading and I hope that my explanation was satisfactory. Thank you once more for your praise and we would be delighted to see you again in our hotel.

We stayed in Jewel Hotel 5 people as a family in 2 rooms. Both rooms were unique and stylish. Rooms were perfectly clean and rooms service is was great. Each evening we returned our rooms we were finding small snacks left in the rooms as well as next days weather forecast. The Hotel is placed at the heart of Prague so you can literally go to all touristic attractions by walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Last but not the least the breakfast is superb. Absolutely you cannot get a better breakfast. Only negative thing is that there is no elevator but this is quite normal for a Prague city hotel cause all buildings are historical so no room for elevator. (There is a small luggage elevator going up to second floor)

The location of this very small hotel is perfect but my single room was a renovated closet. It was clean and had a window (the room was basically the width of that window) but I was definitely expecting more (literally) for the price. Moreover, when I got to the breakfast at 9:30, I was told by the waitress that they had run out of eggs...it took a talk with the manager to motivate someone to go out and buy some down the block. Otherwise, the small cafe in front (doubles as the breakfast room) was cozy and they served good coffee. Maybe a double room would be acceptable but don't stay here in a single.

Room Tip: Do not take a single room

Hello,
My name is Jakub and I am the manager of Jewel Hotel. I really need to react to this review cause there already were attempts to blacken our hotel lately!
Firstly there was nobody from Spain staying in any of our single rooms during June of this year, person who sent this review has just one review here on Tripadvisor and is reviewing his stay almost 3 months after his alleged stay in our hotel.
Anyway, the square footage of all our rooms is stated on our websites as well as on the websites of all our online sellers so everybody can see what square footage the room their booking actually has. Photos of all the rooms are also available on all sites mentioned above. We reside in the building which foundations were laid in 13th century so naturally there were some limitations in regard of space during the reconstruction. Every guest unsatisfied with the room has a right to ask for a change of room or for a refund which we will do immediately and we can also help to arrange some other hotel.
Price for a single room is between 69 and 89 EUR per night.
Regarding the issue with eggs - I personally can say that I've never been approached by any of the guest with complains about waitress claiming that we ran out off eggs - as claimed it this review. Part of our hotel is also very popular restaurant so running out of eggs is not an option for us!
Thank you for reading,
Jakub Sevr, hotel manager
