“Marvelous Prague”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in our city tour through Prague and we are very satisfied. The staff was very helpful for us (especially with excellent English talk), recommended us best way to discovered the city by using metro and tram. Hotel is on a good location according to communications to the city. It's a safe and quiet area. The food for breakfast is very good and worth for the money.

I little bad thing is that the hotel is not in the center of the city. It's not problem for travelers with own car, because is easy to find it. What is interesting and was suprise for me that in the room wasn't shower gel and shampoo, for what we weren't prepared.

Room Tip: Excellent city hotel for short touristic stay in Prague.

Clean rooms, quiet location. Food store and pharmacy nearby. Near the tram stop - you can get to the city centre by tram (10-20 min depending on the route, the fastest is #4) or you can even walk on foot - about 40-50 min to Vaclavski square. You can also walk to a mtero station, but it is quite far. (about 20 min at least). Very friendly staff at the reception - especially that young man (we are sorry we did not even ask his name - extremely friednly and helpful). Breakfast area is quite cozy, with nice furniture and pictures on the walls. If you tend to come late for breakfast, you will find many plates on tables that are not taken away (maybe thus they remind you that you should have come earlier :) ) Our room was facing the inner yard, so it was very quiet, very good to sleep.
Disadvantages: during the first two days wifi did not function, but later it was fixed.

The hotel has a good price/quality ratio. It was recently renovated and the furniture is in good condition. The overall cleanliness is good. The breakfast was simple but edible. For longer stays or for a better food variety this is not the right place. The access to the "famous tourists traps" from the city center is very easy by tram (two tram station are very close to hotel). The receptionist was kind and sold us the first tickets we needed.

I used to think that free parking in public spaces is good…but now I’m convinced is a bad idea while in Prague. As advertised on the website Hotel Mars has also this facility but the area where this hotel is located is the playground of the most “hungry” thieves in the world because they broke our car and have stolen every worthless things they found…so be careful and leave your car completely empty in case you decide to visit this uncivilized part of Europe.

Rooms are clean but not cozy. Noise isolation is absent. No hair dryer, refrigerator. The lobby and restaurant look worn. The breakfast is not delicious, no toaster. The hotel is located far from the center (16 stops by tram). For that price you can find a hotel better and closer to the center.

The hotel was very clean, everything was new (beds, bathroom, wardrobe), it was situated 30 minutes by tram No. 24 to the bus station Florenc, 20 minutes by tram No. 22 to Prague castle or No. 24 directly to Václavské náměstí. The room was big enough, there were only Czech channels on TV - no SAT TV! as it was claimed on the website. The restaurant was big enough, offered a wide range of food for breakfast - e. g. rolls, dark wholemeal bread, cereals, butter, jams, yoghurts, fruits (melon, banana, apple, peach, nectarine - every day the fruit has been changed), honey, cheese, ham, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, milk,...Breakfast was served from 7. till 10 a.m. At the reception they could have sold all day tickets for public transport (they only had 30 minute tickets) because at the bus stop there is no ticket machine.
In the surroundings of the hotel you can find a large department store EDEN where TESCO is. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday there are farmers' markets in front of the hotel Mars.
If you go to Prague for a shorter stay so it is a good choice where to sleep. Prague is the beautiful historical city which worths visiting but be careful of exchange offices - they cheat!!!!!.

If you are looking for a three star hotel for exelent price this could be your one of the best chioice. The hotel is renovated this year, everthing is new. The rooms are quiet, not towords bussy street. The receptionist all speaks english more than good. The tram is very close and it takes 15 minutes to city centre.
Definitely Best buy for a three star hotel in Prague !
