“Good choice for tourists”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

My wife and I had only two nights and one full day (a Sunday) to stay in Prague, but we made the most of it -- really saw and did a lot, and this hotel was a great home base to do it from. Great location ... literally just a one-minute walk to the Charles Bridge, and there are lots of restaurants nearby to enjoy. A short walk also to many interesting sights and places (we even walked to the castle from there) and to tram stops and metro station. The room was comfortable and does have air-conditioning, which is a must during summer months (and many other hotels do not), and the breakfast there is very very good with a wide variety of items. Bathroom was a little small but I liked the shower, with a nice powerful hand-held sprayer. Friendly and helpful staff; especially the man at the front desk, he was great, and arranged a car to take us to the airport early in the morning. And, like many people there, speaks perfect English which is helpful also. You won't regret booking this hotel, I highly recommend it. It was a little hard to find from the nearest metro station, though, and you have to drag your luggage over the cobblestone streets and walkways ... might want to just take a taxi instead.

Room Tip: Unless you get a room with a clear view of the bridge, you might be better off with a room facing th...

Dear Guests,
Thank you so much for your recent stay in our hotel and your kind feedback as well.
I am glad to read that you were satisfied with our location, room and services...it´s more than nice for me to read that stay here was a pleasant surprise for our guests and I am happy that you spent nice time in Prague. Thanks a lot also for your recommendation with direction. To take the taxi is one of the best way to get to our hotel but we also highly recommend to order hotel transfer service cross our reception for safe and dependable arrival.

Kind regards to San Jose!

Stayed for a romantic city break. Hotel was immaculate, clean and the staff could not do enough for you. Perfect location as not right in the hustle and bustle of the centre ofPrague, but within walking distance for all the main attractions.

Food in the restaurant was fantastic both for breakfast and dinner!

Perfect!

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the top floor facing the bridge

we booked this hotel over the phone, after researching it online, as my partner is Czech and can usually get a better price on the phone. we booked a room for three people for two nights and asked if it would be possible to have a late checkout, as we had an evening flight. The lady on the phone said that we could ask for late checkout on arrival and it would cost €20. When we arrived, we were told that as they were busy late checkout wasn't available and unfortunately we didn't have a river view room. the reception staff were very helpful and the hotel was beautiful and in a fantastic location. when we got to our triple room it wasn't the size that we had seen online, and was more like a double room with an extra bed squeezed in. we had an enjoyable stay in Prague, and made use of the nice hotel bar for breakfast, and a few drinks. whilst checking out, we asked once more if it was possible to keep the room until 6PM and were told that we could have a different room until 6PM but it would cost €50. We declined this offer, but were kindly offered the use of the luggage room so we could enjoy our last day in Prague. overall I would say this is a nice hotel. but make sure you get everything that you book in writing before you travel.

Stayed for 4 nights and wish it could have been longer.
This hotel came highly recommended by a friend who knows Prague very well.

We booked a deluxe room overlooking the river – we had views of the river and also views towards Kampa Park and Petrin.

The room itself was lovely with a beamed ceiling .
The bed was large and very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with bath and shower.
Toiletries replenished daily, slippers but no bathrobe.
One niggle we had was one of the blinds over one of the 5 windows didn’t pull right down but it wasn’t really a problem.
Tea and coffee replenished daily.

Location wise this hotel can’t be beat – a few yards to your right and up the steps and you are right on the Charles Bridge in the centre of things.
To the left you have Kampa Park and we spent a relaxing hour here one afternoon, and of course there’s always the river.
It was very quiet despite its central location, being on Kampa Island.

Breakfasts were very good with everything you could wish for – we both got hooked on the scrambled egg.
There’s a small library in reception and two computers – also free Wi Fi in rooms.
You can also take advantage of the complimentary ipad for a small deposit.
Staff were helpful and friendly and very professional.

We loved Prague and staying at this hotel was the icing on the cake – everything about our trip was perfect.
Even the weather was beautiful.
We can’t wait to come back and when we do, probably next Spring we will most definitely stay here again.
Well done Archibald - keep doing what you're doing because you do it so well!

Room Tip: Go for a deluxe room or at least a river view room

Our party of three stayed 4 nights at the Archibald at the Charles Bridge and can only offer the highest comments. The cordial reception desk, the roomy suite for three, the exceptional breakfast selections in the quaint restaurant, the lounge/bar and wine selections and its location on Kampa Island, made this the perfect hotel for our visit to Prague. Everything we wanted to see and do was within easy walking distance. Andrej was very helpful with suggestions and directions. If you want to stay in a top-notch hotel, choose this one. It may be small. but it is a jewel. I don't think you will be disappointed at all !
