“Clean & Quaint”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Nice place, with generally warm staff. The mattresses were not terribly comfortable, but the air conditioning was nice. The bathroom was particularly nice and clean. It's on a quiet street, and it's not far from a Metro stop (probably a five-seven minute walk). It'll be the first place we check for vacancy next time we go to Prague.

Dear WCRI,

Thank you for staying at our hotel!

I really appreciate your nice review and I am especially thankful for mentioning our staff. We know that guests preferences regarding mattresses are different. That is why we have rooms with softer and also the rooms with harder ones. When we know what our guests prefer we always give them rooms meeting all their requirements. I am sorry for the discomfort and I promise you, you will get softer mattresses next time you are at our hotel.

Wish you a nice day and hope to see you again in future!

Kind regards,

Lucia

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. If you travel for a business purpose, the equipment of the room and the staff is fully accomodated for this type of travelling. Secure parking for a reasonable price taking into account the location of the hotel is advantage and its very near the hotel. I will defenetely return to this hotel, when staying in Prague next time.

When staying in Prague this is my nice, go to hotel of choice. It's difficult to say why I like it so much but I will try.
- the staff are very friendly. You can ask them pretty much anything and they'll have a nice laugh with you
- the location is much quieter, it's very easy to get into the centre of town though. Either a 20 minute walk or a 2 minute metro ride
- the rooms are fairly modern and very clean - much bigger than in the UK
- it has good effective air conditioning for when its 34 degrees like now
- never tried the breakfast because I'm not a morning eater but they seem to have lots of choice
- the manager picked me up in his car once when I was drunk and lost
- the mini bar is well stocked and the prices are good
- rooms are fairly cheap. I'm here for 2 weeks at the minute and its about 650 euros
- it's close to a brothel (just kidding, well not about it being close to one but about that being a reason I like it)

Now it does have 1 down point but its not so much the hotels problem but more a problem with Prague; parking your hire car is a liability. The only option here is to use the hotels car park. Is about £15 a night but I had to do a 12 point turn to get out of it this morning. Not the best way to start a long drive through the city centre at rush hour.

Definitely worth staying here if you can stand being 5 mins from the city centre.

Dear Chris,

Thank you very much for your feedback!

I am always pleased to read the review from one of our regular guests. I really appreciate a great list of information and tips that might be very helpful for other travelers. Especially I would like to thank you for mentioning our staff - each compliment from the guest is a great motivation for each member of our team.

Regarding the parking possibilities - yes, it is quite difficult to park the car in this area, as the places on the street are reserved for residents (and still it is not safe to keep the car on the street). As we do not have our own garage we are happy to have those several parking spots rented in a courtyard nearby (even though it might get too tight).

Have a nice stay!

Kind regards,

Lucia

We just returned from one of the most enjoyable vacations we have ever taken. It combined an AMA Waterways Danube cruise with a pre-stay in Budapest and a post-stay in Prague. We booked our own hotels for both cities and in Prague we chose the Louren Hotel based on recommendations in Rick Steves "Prague" tourbook. A great choice! The Louren is a small (20 room) family-owned hotel. It had a charming lobby and bar/breakfast room. Our rooms were large, nicely decorated with new bathrooms and were spotless. Best of all, the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Even to the point that when we asked for a recommendation to a local bakery to buy a birthday cake, they sent a chilled bottle of sparkling wine for our friend's birthday. While the hotel is a subway ride away from the city center, the metro station is close by and easy/cheap to ride. Overall, it was a great experience and I can highly recommend the Louren Hotel to anyone traveling to Prague.

Room Tip: Unbeatable Choice!

We selected this hotel based on the location and price, and the fact that they had rooms with air conditioning, which became very important after an uncomfortable stay in Trebon during a heat wave during our time in the Czech Republic. Our expectations were definitely exceeded in every aspect by this hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful at all times. The room and the bathroom were both very spacious (and cool due to the air conditioning, which worked as advertised!). We had a fruit bowl in the room every morning, a nice treat that was totally unexpected. They will sell you metro/tram/bus tickets as needed, which was very convenient. The breakfast was quite ample and tasty. The location is a bit away from the noisy, touristy areas of town but very convenient to the Green Metro line, so we took advantage of a daily ticket to get around Prague as needed. We slept well at night because the location is quieter than most, we were on the 5th floor, and we did not have to keep the window open all night due to the A/C which allowed for more peaceful nights. We would definitely recommend this hotel, especially in very hot weather.

I stayed in Louren over a weekend and was quite happy with the experience. The location is excellent, a stone's throw away from a metro and streetcar station. The hotel itself is quite pretty, with stylish rooms and interior. The room had a minibar, aircondition and Wifi access, all worked as they should. Nice bathroom, good breakfast. Staff was helpful in all respects.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the courtyard, away from the street. Very nice and quiet. It is possible that thi...

Dear Staale,

Thank you very much for your positive feedback!

I am very happy you have chosen our hotel and that you have enjoyed your stay in our beautiful city. Our street is quite quiet (it is just one way and without any trams or buses routes) but still our rooms facing the yard are more quiet. If someone prefer a quiet room we will provide a room on the upper floor or a room with a courtyard view.

Once again thank you for your stay and I believe we will see you at our place again in future!

Best regards from Prague,

Lucia

From the moment we arrived to when we left, the staff was extremely helpful and always ready to help. They upgraded us to a junior suite, which was very roomy. The room was equipped with everything, including a fruit bowl. The breakfast was complete and delicious! Having wi-fi was perfect too!
It is accessible to public transportation so we covered all areas. We rented a car and they helped us with overnight parking. Thy are very accommodating! They are close to The Tower, make sure to stop by for a visit and photos!

Would stay there again!
