The hotel was spotless as was our room and bathroom. Unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable and had a very lumpy mattress and pillows, so much so, that it felt like an insult having to pay to sleep on it. For the price I wasn't expecting anything out of this world but I didn't expect to be given a bed that felt like sleeping on egg boxes.

Some staff were polite but one female receptionist was rude and sarcastic.

The hotel is well situated, near public transport but we found it walkable to the city centre and main sights.

Breakfast was fine.

We booked throught Teletext Holidays and had found this trip as a bargain. I was slightly dubious booking through teletext, however what a fantastic hotel. Our room was clean, spacious and perfect, nothing can be faulted here. Being English it would have been absolutely perfect if we could have had a kettle, but apart from that it was exactly what we wanted.

The breakfast was fine for me, my friend didnt like it, but continental choice of meats, cheeses, some tinned fruit, croissant and breads, plenty to fill up on.

It was a slight walk to the main town, but the streets were clean and felt quite safe to walk along, and we were in no rush, so it was fine. If you are not a fan of walking 15 minutes to main town, then maybe its not for you. Although there is a jacuzzi you can book time slot for, so thats a definite must for the end of each day :)

Thanks for a perfect stay!

Room Tip: If you plan to walk to town each day, book the jacuzzi for when you come back in the evening, you ge...

Just returned from a 3 night stay in St George Hotel. It does exactly what it should for a 3 star. It is clean, and fairly basic. The location is very good and as other reviews have said only 5 mins from the very easy to use public transport systems. Around the area there are quite a few lovely bars and restaurants and these are quite reasonably priced too. One minor complaint about the hotel was the fact that the air con is not effective in the rooms. We stayed in early June and the outside temperature was around 10 degrees at night but we could not get the room temperature below 22 degrees so quite over powering. Agreed breakfast is a bit sparse and a toaster and bread would be a bonus. We chose the hotel mainly for the location so it fitted the bill for us. One major note is as mentioned on other reviews ask for a no smoking room unless you want to choke to death.

Room Tip: Ask for a non smoking room

Recently stayed at this 3 star Hotel on a 4 day break. Very pleasant Hotel and in a lovely quiet location down a side street so no traffic noise. Staff were very pleasant and all spoke good English. Rooms were a good size and well looked after daily. Breakfast typical continental and perfectly adequate. Wenceslas Sq., was approx. 15 minute walk and a 5 minute walk to tram and metro stop. Beware of pickpockets on the trams!!. Turn right out of the Hotel and at the end of the street is a small restaurant excellant value.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked a garden, very pleasant, no problems at this Hotel..

Had a lovely long weekend here. Easy access to the city on foot or from the nearby tram/underground stops. Room was well serviced, breakfast was typical buffet, most of the reception staff were very welcoming and spoke perfect English. The only disappointment was the bar - we usually like a back-at-the-hotel-but-before-you-go-to-bed drink, but the bar wasn't welcoming or well stocked. We'd be happy to stay here again, and probably will for a longer trip next time. There is so much to see.
