Booked for a 3 night stay with 4 friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. The hotel staff are very friendly especially Martin the barman/night receptionist.Rooms are clean and very comfortable, but we suggest you turn of the heat at night or you will be awoken by what sounded like a runaway train. For my and my friebns birthday the staff placed a bucket with champagne in our rooms with their compliments which we thought was a lovely touch. Recommend the restaurant called EVERYDAY uninviting when you go through the door but excellent food at a reasonable price, go out main entrance of hotel turn right and it is at the end of that block. overall a beautiful place to visit but very cold in january so dont forget your THERMALS!!!!!!

Continental breakfast plenty to eat. Tea/coffee from a machine would have been more enjoyable from a proper tea- pot as served in the lounge. Lots of restaurants to choose from prices varied but we had a two course meal with a drink for 522 crowns. When we got lost trying to find the Old Town people were friendly trying to help us to find where we wanted to go. Would advise take one of the bus tours to get your bearings of places to visit. Weather the first day was very warm second day was a bit cooler third day late afternoon rained all day but as it was or last day we wandered round the many shops.

The Hotel St. George was such a friendly place to stay. The staff were excellent, breakfast was well above average for a continental, and the room was clean, uncluttered and with plenty of space.
Staff: Always willing to make phone calls, reservations, and help w/ anything you needed.
Breakfast: wonderful selection of cheese, lunchmeats, juices, yogurts, fruits, breads and a fabulous coffee machine for cappicino, hot chocolate etc. We even made sandwiches for later in the day....don't tell anyone....
Room: nice bright hallways to rooms, alcove inside room with door to bathroom, and another door into the actual room. Very quiet.
Note: This hotel is on a very busy main road. Ask for a room facing the court yard. We never heard any traffic from our room.
Location: within walking distance of St. Weinslalav (spck) Sq, one block from police station, and 2 blocks from metro, grocery & bank. Neighborhood does not look the best, but we were never afraid of walking at night.

Highly recommend this hotel

My husband and i stayed here whilst attending a family wedding in Prague. Also my parents and sister/brother in law stayed as well. It is a lovely hotel and is ten minutes walk from Wencelas Square which is great. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are unobtrusive except for one of the breakfast ladies who must really hate her job!!. The rooms are on the small size but have airconditioning, a safe and ensuite facilities. Beside the lobby is a reception room including a small bar and it is lovely to relax there after touring the city all day. My only gripe would be that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms which being irish i missed my tea! The hotel is a good middle of the road option for holidaying in Prague but if you really can splash out there are some nicer hotels in Wencelas Square.

Travelled with a friend for a three-night break and had chosen Hotel St George due to the good reviews. We were certainly not dissapointed. The hotel staff were extreamly friendly, spoke excellent English and could not have been more helpful. Although not in the centre of Prague it was only a 10 minute walk to Wenceslas Square and all the other 'must see' attractions. Very clean accommodation and great buffet breakfast too! Would stay here again if I ever came back and highly recommend. Our airport transfer driver had told us on the return journey that this hotel is known for having the friendliest staff. One slight niggle was that the hotel is next to a busy road and although the room was double glazed, you did hear the traffic during the night. Great value for money.

Stayed at the St George for 3 nights in March 08. Loved it, great hotel, great room. Stayed on the 5th floor so traffic noise was not an issue. Handy location, close to the Metro and tram stops. Would definitely recommend the hotel, especially for the price.

On arrival to the hotel, I was never so happy to see the bed, it was a king size bed and was so comfortable.

I will say though that the nosie of the traffic was cruel, all night and the sirens were going all night too.
The air conditionong was broken and the room was warm so we had to leave the windows open but ended up closintg them because of the noise.

The hot tub downstairs was nice just to relax in after the days walking. But the gym was pretty crap.
