“Don't expect much but can't beat the price!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This hotel might be tricky to find at first but is located close to trams and busses that take you to the airport or to a metro. I have stayed here twice the first time I stayed for breakfast the second time I had an early flight and upon checking out I was given a breakfast to go. There is a mini fridge ,TV, and hot water. For a traveler on a tight budget that is wanting access to the city and a clean place to stay and not having to pay for breakfast this is the perfect place to stay.
Don't expect a super friendly staff.

I didn't expect anything and I was satisfied. There was a bed, bathroom and clean sheets. Nothing more nothing less. Definitely not superior place, but absolutely worth the price with good connection to the city centre.

As soon as my partner and I walked through the doors, we were greeted by a piercing stare from the man at the reception desk, who, if I read his eyes right, was entirely shocked to see two people with suitcases walking into the central lobby of a hotel. He did not bother to stand up to greet us; in fact, he only stood up a few moments later to get the piece of paper that we needed to sign.

After we checked in, we went up to our room, and the hallway smelled of fried Asian food while the room had a lingering smell of stale cigarette smoke despite our requested non-smoking room. The double bed we'd booked turned out to be nothing more than two twin beds pushed together into the middle of the room and after an unfortunate rustling of the sheets we were disgusted to see the duvets themselves, underneath the clean-ish top sheets, were covered in a wide array of stains in varying color. The room's temperature was set to some tropical degree and there was no way for us to control how how it was in the room aside from opening the window.

The breakfast was sub-par. Slimy meats, stale bread, truly awful juice, cold pasta and wilted salad. The only decent things were the granola cereal and instant espresso machine.

The tram and the bus are the only methods of getting into the city by public transportation, and during our fourth day there, the ticket machine was broken. It surprised us that the receptionist couldn't advise us on where to get tram tickets nearby. We ended up walking 700m down the road to a gas station, where a much more helpful attendant was able to tell us that the closest ticket machine was at an intersection a few hundred more meters down the road.

If you've seen the little check mark for "includes Wi-Fi" anywhere on this page, don't believe it. There is Wi-Fi, technically, however it's only accessibly when standing in one specific location of the lobby and even then only one quarter of the requested web pages will load.

Room Tip: Book a room somewhere else.

Very basic facility. In fact these are more students’ rooms with the very old style of furniture of communist time. It is interesting to see how the hotels were furnished at that time. The food in the canteen is fine, local and inexpensive. The breakfast is basic but OK. Passing through the former chic villa’s zone, it takes 45 minutes to walk to the Hradcany Castle. The closest shop (“supermarket”) is at about 20 minutes walk down the road. This hotel is an inexpensive solution but rather far from the Centre even when well served by public transport, some 200 meters from the hotel. 15 minutes bus drive to the airport.

At the desk a really unpleasant receptionist watches at you without a word, with a T-Shirt written "follow my rule"! Once in the room understand why you were asked to pay before the night: you would go away! Which I was about to do. I stayed because i never succeeded to connect to networks to find something else. Everything is dated from the 70's, no comfort at all. Really awful. The air is unbreathable. And if you open the window you have the noise of the planes and the street which is passing by.
Hardly acceptable for a backpacker "on a shoe string".
Really to be avoided on a business trip.

The description they used on booking.com is misleading. They claim to have WiFi in all public areas which by default would mean all hallways and corridors and therefore any rooms opening onto them. In fact, there is WiFi only in the lobby. Also they claim air conditioning. It too is only in the lobby and even at that isn't run all the time. I should know, I had to spend a lot of time there. Please know I have 337 out of the last 466 days in hotels. I have experience booking hotels. To be fair this hotel was inexpensive which lots of people staying here.

Room Tip: West facing rooms are hot in the evening. East facing rooms are hot in the morning and also have the...

I stayed there for one week in July. I chose it because the conference I was attending was held there, so it is out of convenience. My initial reaction after check-in was that of shock -- it was not like any hotel I stayed in, or any motel, for that matter! It was like a student dorm from back in the 1970's in the soviet block -- in fact this was what it was. However, after a week of stay, I must say that my experience was not too bad. It's clean, functional (except for the Internet), and since I only paid about $42/day including breakfast, it is what I should expect.

The biggest problem is the Internet. One can only get free wifi in the hotel lobby, and it was painfully slow! No Internet in the room, period! So don't rely on getting anything done over the Internet.

Bring your own soap and shampoo. These are not provided by the hotel.

Bathroom and toilet are very basic -- I mean they were for a student dorm back in the 70's. Don't expect anything more.

Breakfast was again very basic but sufficient -- cereal, tea/coffee, cold cuts, cheese, pate, boiled sausages, bread and milk, and apples. They do provide juices, but they taste so artificial that I opted for plain water.

Now the good points:

Rooms are very bright -- lots of natural sun light! Every room has a balcony.

The hotel is located right at the foot of a hill, and there is a trail up the woody hill. Nice for an evening walk.

Lunch and dinner are very reasonably priced, though don't expect any gourmet meals.

Transportation is convenient -- Bus 119 and a few tram lines nearby. Bus 119 comes directly from the airport. No need for taxi if you don't have much luggage. Buses and trams also go to the Dejvicka subway station without needing to transfer. There is an automatic bus ticket vending machine right at the hotel. Use it instead of paying the driver, which costs more.

There is a little fridge in every room, so you can stock up on food/drinks if you don't feel like eating out. There is a supermarket (BILLA) 3 bus stops east from the hotel.

To sum up, it is great for students or people traveling with a low budget. Not good for business travellers.

Room Tip: - Try to ask for a room facing the hill -- it has better view.
