I have just returned from a weekend at this Hotel to celebrate my partners 50th. We were upgraded to a de-luxe room ( 21 ) on arrival. The hotel is a few steps away from Charles Bridge and within walking distance to most places, I am so glad we didn't stay anywhere else. The staff at this hotel are brilliant especially the two Martin's who work in Reception they were so helpful and knowledgeable about Prague, the two Martin's directed us to a bar called The Lokal telling us the beer was the best in the city...It was... 10/10 to them. Another good bar was J J Murphy's the staff were excellent, a special mention goes to Paige who knew exactly when I needed a refill !!
I didn't realise Prague was such an historic city until we did The Ultimate Tour the hotel recommended, it was six hours long but that included a boat trip and a lunch stop, Nina our guide for the day was born in Prague, there was nothing she didn't know about her Home City. If you visit Prague put this on your to-do list.
Ladies....flat comfy footwear is a must you walk for miles and miles.....
Eating out is fairly inexpensive compared to England, there are plenty of cafe's, restaurants, snack bars,take-aways,McDonalds ( although it's cheaper in England ).
Vegetarians may find it difficult to find things to eat in this City, meat is put into most things even scrambled eggs and baked beans !!!
Smokers might be better off bringing their own ciggies to Prague as English Brands aren't that common but they are much cheaper than England I bought mine at The Duty Free in Prague Airport, they worked out to about £22 for 200 for Rothmans and slightly more for Bensons.
Overall I would give my trip 20/10
We both loved Prague and it's people, a return visit is most definitely on the cards.

Just returned from my first trip to Prague where I stayed at the Pod Vezi Hotel. This was a birthday treat and can honestly say was one of the best trips I have ever had for all the right reasons

Let's start with the hotel, all the reviews are true and even better than you read, the location is the best in the city, it's seconds from The Charles Bridge. The staff at the hotel are the most friendly and helpful I have ever met anywhere in the world, the hotel is fantastic in every way you can imagine, if you're looking for a great place to stay look no further. On a personal note to the two Martins you guys couldn't be more helpful if you tried.Thank you for all the help and advice.

I never thought this city would have so much to offer, if you have a passion for culture and history and true beauty visit this wonderful city, four days was not enough honest, already planning our return. Choice of food is limited if you are picky, don't get me wrong you have a choice but you will need to look around if you are not a Pork eater lol, go to Bar Lokal where the beer is great reputed to be the best in Prague, worth a visit if you fancy seeing how the locals live, I must point out SMOKING is allowed in most restaurants and bars, ask for the non smoking section.

There are lots of tours, we did the one recommended by the hotel which was the Ultimate Tour and was worth every penny, our tour guide for the day was Nina she really made it special, it's six hours long but two of those are spent by doing one on the river and the other in a traditional restaurant for lunch which is part of the deal, you also get a tram ride to the castle which helps you understand the alternative travel choice to get around Prague and this was all for 1200 Czech Koruna per person, by far the best value

Last thing bring a good pair of walking shoes because you will need them as well as a good camera, I wish I had brought mine lol

Thank you Pod Vezi we will be back again

Room Tip: Room 21 It was perfect

Stayed here for 3 nights. Booked directly and got a voucher for a three course meal in their restaurant. Location is right by the Charles Bridge on the Lesser Town (Prague Castle) side of the river so a superb location for all of central Prague. The name of the hotel means "under the tower", which it is: the hotel has a free pass to go into and up the old tower. When we got to the hotel they up graded us to what was effectively a suite at the top of the hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable, each evening there was a small gift - chocolates, fruit, small bottle of local fizz. Staff were helpful recommending restaurants on 2 evenings. The three course meal was excellent: literally could have anything off the menu and food is Czech served in a haute cuisine manner. Top tip: for 32 CZK (£1.00) you can use the 119 bus and 20 tram to get from / to the hotel.

Stayed for four nights at this hotel. We booked directly with the hotel and were given a voucher for a three course meal at the restaurant. One our last day we had a free crepe and coffee! The service was outstanding and it is really in a beautiful location.

This is a lovely small, friendly, comfortable hotel in a great location. It is probably not the smartest hotel I've ever stayed in, but it is very comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, it was a pleasure to return to after a day's sightseeing. So overall it was a truly pleasurable experience staying there.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Prague.

The hotel style is kind of old fashioned and rooms are ok, but nothing special. The location is anyway perfect and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was ok, no more, no less. The hotel makes nices surprises, like fruit teller waiting for you in the evening, You don't spend that much time in your room, so I definitely could stay in this hotel again. The room was very quiet, the only thing I really want to complain about was the bathroom. There was no water drain on the floor, so if you did not want to have a flood, you had to sit in the bathtube when taking a shower.
