“Wonderful small hotel with excellent service and location”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

We spent three nights at the beginning of our stay in the Czech Republic and another night upon our return to Prague and really felt well-looked after by the staff who are most hospitable, helpful and friendly - on our return it was like coming home... we felt warmly welcomed back. We had a really lovely & comfortable suite/ room at the back that was pleasantly quiet as we'd requested and appreciated the extra touch of welcoming treats such as chocolates & fresh fruit. The young staff are fluent in English and go out of their way to take care of their guests, providing good recommendations for concerts, sights, and transportation. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of variety (try the fresh crepes and freshly-squeezed orange juice available on the buffet table & the coffee is great!). We also had an excellent dinner at the hotel restaurant. Of course too the hotel is in a terrific location that makes it easy to see much of Prague on foot or close enough to trams and metro. It's also great to come back after a day of sightseeing, sit outside on the hotel patio, have a beer or glass of wine & watch the world go by. The hotel offers a worthwhile 15% discount on their meals and beverages. We definitely recommend Hotel Pod Vezi.

Room Tip: Just ask for a quieter room if you wish. We figured the rooms overlooking the street and the tower e...

Based on other Trip Advisor reviews we booked Pod Vezi for a long weekend in May. The location is indeed amazing, right by Charles Bridge but tucked away just behind the crazy crowds. The staff / service were great too, they truly make an effort. Rooms are nice, but not anything special - don't expect too much from the room itself. We would certainly go back.

My husband and I have just returned from a short break in Prague.

We stayed at the Pod Vezi hotel which we highly recommend for service, friendliness and a stunning location.

The bedrooms are a good size have lovely clean comfy beds and pillows. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space mini bar, T V and all mod cons, also very quiet for a good nights sleep.

The staff are very pleasant and try their best to make your stay special with lovely little touches such as fresh fruit, chocolates even a small bottle of bubbly to say farewell!!.

The breakfast is good, plenty of fruit, cereals cold and hot dishes lovely bread and pastries. We also ate at the restaurant were the food was excellent especially the lunch which was very good value, a 15% discount is offered for lunch and dinner menus.

The location is just at the very end of the Charles Bridge facing the tower a very prominent landmark in Prague. Tram and metro stops are short walk away.

We highly recommend this hotel for a great holiday in Prague

This small hotel is situated just 50 meters from the Charles Bridge on a quiet side street. We stayed in the dependence building (a separate building from the main hotel) & were glad we did as the room was large, clean, well appointed & quiet. A generous breakfast of hot & cold choices is included. We had dinner in the hotel dining room on two occasions & the food & service was excellent. The front desk service by the two Martins was outstanding & they were able to take care of our every need. They speak good English. I would highly recommend this little gem of a hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights during our trip to Prague and it could not have been more perfect. The location is excellent and easy to walk to all of the main sites. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice and breakfast was delicious. I can not stress enough what a great hotel this is. We also had free wifi in our room throughout our stay. This was one of 4 hotels we stayed at during our European vacation and we both agreed that Hotel Pod Vezi was by far the best.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Pod Vezi whilst in Prague and could not fault anything. The position is excellent right next to the Charles Bridge, but with a good quiet aspect. We stayed in their dependence building, and our room was large, clean and quiet.
The staff were extremely helpful with checkin and directions of most things, and we arrived to our room with some complimentary fresh fruit, chocolates and water. We were also surprised with a thank you mini bottle of sparkling wine on our last night.
We booked some tickets at reception for a concert at the Smetana Hall upon their recommendation, which was excellent. Beautiful venue and talented violinists.

Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Prague. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Prague.

What a very nice hotel we chose to stay at in Prague, I would recommend the maximilian hotel to anybody,
The staff were very helpful, when I asked at the reception if they could recommend a restaurant close by they recommended La Casa Argentina, without any prompting they immediately made my reservation for me , what a good choice, a really nice restaurant and meal.
