“Hotel Pod Vesi, Prague”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

For starters, the hotel is in the best location of Prague, right at the entrance of the Charles Street Bridge. We ate several meals there, and the food was delicious and the service wonderful. In fact, we were entirely overwhelmed by the general helpfulness of all the staff. The breakfasts were sumptuous, the lattes and cappuccino's made to order and we were sent off with maps and extensive directions as well as tips as to what was worth seeing. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Pod Vesi during our next vacation in Prague! Diane

A beautiful hotel, spotless inside and out. Its position in Prague is unrivalled, nestled next to Charles Bridge on the more quaint side of town. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, all speaking fantastic English and couldn't do enough for us. Good selection for breakfast, especially liked the fresh orange machine! The chocolates and champagne were a lovely touch for our anniversary also. We will be returning to Prague and would never look anywhere else to stay, couldn't fault it. Beds were the most comfortable we've ever had other than our own.

Location is everything and this boutique hotel has it all, just next to Charles Bridge on the side of the river with the castle, great location..
We got a room in the Depandance annex, a building across the small street and this was great as this was away from the main tourist route.
Room was ordinary and bathroom tub had no curtain and water splashing over the floor this is the only reason for only 4 stars in our book otherwise it would be a 5 not least becaurse of the VERY friendly staff.
Breakfast was good quality and good selection.
Free WIFI...
We arrange the private driver for 25EUR each way from the airport, very convenient.

In mid May, we stayed at Pod Vezi for the second time in less than a year.

This time we came back with my in-laws. We stayed in room 21. The in-laws opted for a cheaper room - 33. Room 21 is very nice - overlooking the street toward the river and the tower. It's got a logical and useful layout. In my opinion - a little more useful than room 24 that we stayed in last year.

As before, the staff were very helpful. They gave us directions to find various local sites and services. They were always very friendly to us as we came and went.

The restaurant was fine for breakfast. If varied every day but was just fine. We had dinner there once or twice. But always came back from other places for the apple strudel. After much research out and about Prague we conclude that the apple strudel at Pod Vezi is one of the best.

Room Tip: Rooms 21 and 24 are very nice - spacious and with great views.

Although I prefer modern hotels, the reviews (not just on TripAdvisor) are so great they were my main reason to stay there. From the moment I booked, though, they were exceedingly friendly and helpful, and I felt reassured even before getting there. Transfer was as smooth as can be, and the staff was as friendly in person as they had been before. Yes, the décor is a little dated, but the upsides more than make up for that (minor) downside. The room was massive – loads of storage, oversized comfortable bed, a work desk, a vanity desk, a table and two chairs… Windows everywhere (although there was no view to speak of). Very large bathroom. Everything immaculately clean. Housekeeping always left a small treat – fruit or pastry, a small bottle of sekt on our last night. Breakfast was good, but dinner was better – we actually ended up having dinner at the hotel restaurant every night – on the first night because it was so convenient, but on the others because the food was so delicious and we wanted to try everything! Lovely street-side terrace for a drink and/or a nibble at the end of the day (mostly if it is sunny). On top of it all, you *cannot* beat the location – all major sights are within walking distance. We had a wonderful stay at the Pod Vezi...

Stayed here June 2014. My partner booked 3 nights at the Pod Vezi as a birthday treat for me.
From the moment we arrived Martin at reception went out of his way to give us a very warm welcome. We were upgraded. Our room 122 was spacious and spotlessly clean & very quiet. Water & chocolates were already in our room as a welcome gift. The next day ( my birthday) an ice bucket with champagne and a large bowl of fruit was delivered to our room with the compliments of the hotel with a card wishing me a happy birthday. My partner had not informed them, they had obviously checked the registration cards after we signed in. Personally I thought this was very thoughtful & kind. We returned each day to find chocolates, biscuits and small bottles of wine or champagne had been left in our room as presents.
The staff were very friendly and their local knowledge of Prague's attractions was very useful. They wrote down details for us & we witnessed them doing this for other guests.
The reception also has a small shop where you can purchase essentials you may have forgotten to pack.
We ate at the hotel restaurant several times for both lunch and Dinner and the food was lovely and beautifully presented & very reasonably priced.
The hotel is situated right next to the Charles Bridge, a great location and within easy reach of most attractions. We arranged with the hotel in advance to be picked up from the airport & used this taxi service again when leaving - again very reasonably priced. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - just fabulous.

Room Tip: Room 122 was in the dependence building across the small cobble road. very spacious, clean & qui...

We stayed here for 3 nights earlier this year and were amazed at the quality of the accommodation (the suites are massive) the room service and the food. As well as a discounted price we were offered a free 3-course meal for two (this was in early Jan). The food was so good we ate there a second night. You couldn't pick a better location for a hotel in Prague - right next door to the Charles Bridge, with easy access to all the sights. Everything about the Pod Vezi was first-class. You must stay here!
