“A Golden Experience”
Reviewed 7 May 2011

From check in through to check out this was a great hotel. Service was excellent and friendly and the decor whilst slightly on the chintzy golden level was really very impressive. The food in the restaurant was slightly expensive but made a great change from Goulash. Even if you don't eat in the restaurant ask to see it.
The quiet location but still with easy access to the Charles V bridge, park and bars was great.

Good location near the Charles Bridge; large room; big bathrooms with jacuzzi tub; truly excellent service (friendly and reliable); free Internet access; a block from the Blue Duckling restaurant (one of the best in Prague). We will recommend this place to friends.

This the best hotel of the six hotels we stayed at during our eastern europe holiday. It is in a great location, only a short walk to Charles Bridge but more importantly it is on the castle side of the bridge in a peaceful cobbled backstreet away from the crowds on the other side. The hotel is not only in a lovely old building but the rooms are decorated and furnished with romantic character (why do so many other hotels in historic building have boring rooms?). We were upgraded and had a spacious room with canopy bed. As many have mentioned the bed is VERY comfortable to sleep in. We loved this wonderful hotel in this beautiful city. Bring your own teabags as there are no tea/coffee provided in the room.

The good: nice room in a fairy tale style, fits perfectly with your prague visit. Perfect cleanliness. Very good location 2 steps away from charles bridge. Wifi free. Very nice and kind staff
The bad: limited service in terms of advice for concerts/ ballets. No room service on sunday as the below restaurant is closed. Price is high but apparently this is prague
Overall would definitely recommend.

Dear Madam / Sir,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your time and sharing your useful feedback with us. It gives us the possibility to improve our services and to accommodate the needs of our present and future guests.
As you mention in your comment, there was no room service provided on Sunday as the restaurant was closed. Additionally, I would like to apologize for this inconvenience.
Let me inform you that this service is temporarily limited until the middle of May 2011. However, with the coming summer season, our Alchymist Club Restaurant together with a stylish Alchymist Garden will be serving its exquisite cuisine daily from 8 am till midnight.
I am truly sorry to learn that we failed to meet your expectations regarding the concierge service. I do believe it must have been a misunderstanding since our front desk is always happy to help while recommending any kind of leisure activities. Also, we can arrange online ticket sale for theatre, opera and ballet performances.
Thank you for staying with us and for taking your time to write this review.
We are looking forward to welcoming you soon back to the Alchymist Residence Nosticova.
With kind regards,
Lucie and her team

We stayed at the Alchymist Residence Nosticova with 4 teenagers in a suite connecting with a queen room. The rooms were ornate and very romantic/atmospheric, done in rich brocades with painted ceilings. The bathrooms were well appointed. The girls said it was their favorite hotel of our trip. My husband and I enjoyed the comfortable beds, and the breakfast, which was included, was terrific. The staff were charming and very helpful. The Alchymist is located down a quiet street in the beautiful Mala Strana quarter where all the old mansions are, and where many embassies now reside. It is an easy walk to almost anywhere one would want to go in Prague. I had originally booked the room on the booking.com web site, but the hotel had made note of my request for a rollaway bed. They called us and made suggestions for the connecting rooms including the suite. I had said that I was concerned about the price of a suite, but they worked out a deal for us that was only a little more than having the two deluxe rooms. So, if you want to go stay here, consider calling them directly! They are most helpful!

A fantastic small hotel in a quiet street just five minutes walk from the famous Charles Bridge. Amazing bedroom decoration (we even had a chandelier in the bathroom!) and a gold leaf wall. The restaurant has an amazing mirrored dining room, although you will have to have deep pockets to dine in it regularly. We didn't try breakfast in the hotel, so I can't comment on that. A great place to stay to explore the city on foot.
