Our first trip to prague. We used Trip advisor and at the time of booking this hotel was No 7 in the top list for Prague but was at No 4 in July 2009. I can only add to the numerous good reviews. Airport pick up / return service 60 EUR was very good in a nice Air Con Crysler. Professional pleasant service. I had read about Taxi rip offs and so we went for the hotels own service. The reception staff were very attentive with immediate response to any requests or needs. Breakfast service could have been a little better, and that is my only critisism of our 4 day stay. The 5 minute walk to the sister hotel and use for free of the small indoor swimming pool and relaxing area was a bonus. The location of the hotel is to the left of the Charles bridge about 300 metres / 4 mins walk. This means you are in the quiet part of town but can walk to the crowded Astronomical clock square across the bridge in 15 mins. This is a nice walk. The hotel had a package on offer which inviolved booking and paying 50% in advance. This enabled us to get a Rate of about 110 EUR per night, or in real terms about half of the 200 EUR a night that hotels in the old town square area wanted. This was no low class, shabby hotel at all for that price. You may have guessed by now that YES I recommend it. Ok now leaving the hotel behind I would like to talk about prague in general. It is the second most vistited city in Europe. They know this and all hotels and restuarants within the 1 mile of centre radius (and this is where you will stay) cost as much as eating out in London. Pizza / Pasta restuarants are the cheapest at about 9 GBP for a main. The other restuarants are 14 GBP for a main. The drinks and even ice cream prices (Hagandaas / Ben and Jerrys) had my jaw dropping. 5.50 GBP for 3 scoops of ice cream. Very pretty city. Do plan and budget a little higher for your meals. It was almost impossible to find a quiet cheaper area of prague away from tourists / those prices.

We have just returned from our second stay at the wonderful Residence Nosticova which has to be our favourite hotel anywhere in the World. The location is excellent in a quite street a few minutes from Charles Bridge, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the service is outstanding and the rooms are amazing. The food in the restaurant is also not to be missed!

We love the hotel so much that we are planning on having our wedding celebrations there next year!! Thanks to Lucie and all the staff for a really enjoyable, if a little too short, stay.
