“Good budget hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2012

We stayed in a 3 bed room for 4 nights. The room was a good size and clean. The carpets in the hallways could do with an update, but this had no bearing on our stay. The hotel staff were excellent. They were very friendley and helpful. The breakfast was good and had plenty of selection. The bar was also good. On the whole, this is a good budget hotel and we would stay at the hotel again and recommend it to others.

The Hotel amenities were as advertised. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There is a bank directly across the street; the commission for exchanging money at the Hotel was 8%. Nearest tram is within a 2 minute walk from Hotel. The Hotel sells the 3 types of metro/tram tickets (30/90 minutes and 24 hour tickets). Good breakfast buffet selection. The Hotel provides free wi-fi. There is a large indoor shopping mall at the end of the block (the "Paladium"). Hotel staff requests leaving the room key and safe key with them while you are touring. Only downside: the thin mattress lying on a wooden support frame.

Room Tip: We recommend requesting a room on the rear of the hotel since the tram on Na Porici (street on the f...

Good location. Easy to walk to the center of town. No air conditioning, so you must open windows that face the street. Tram noise was extremely loud and constant, til midnight. Terrible breakfast, there was nothing I could find to eat that was fresh or appealing. Front desk staff rude. Hotel bar was horribly smoky so I could not use.Entire hotel reeked of smoke. Large new mall down the street with restaurants that are non smoking on top level. New remodeled bathroom with shower only.Italian restaurant across street good food and prices. I could not sleep or find anything to eat in the hotel for our 3 night stay. Not a good hotel if you have allergies or asthma.

Room Tip: Take a room away from main street to avoid tram noise.

Dear Madam,

thank you very much for your review. We appreciate you to take time and let us know your opinion, because it will help us to improve our services. As discussed in our previous e-mail conversation, I will focus on the new staff member to be sure that he can handle tense moments with more elegance and I assure you, that during your next stay in May 2013 he will be reaching the same standards like our other reception staff does. Regarding the hotel restaurant, it is open only for lunch time, as our experience shows, that most of our clients prefer to have dinner in the city, as there is plenty of restaurants in the area. We will be hape to give you some tips where to find great czech food for reasonable rates, just few steps from the hotel. I am looking forward to meet you next year and assure you that we will make your stay a nice experience.

With kind regards

Katerina Valihrachova

On arrival from outside the premises could be easily overlooked, that would have been a big mistake. The hotel is just more than a stone's throw away from the historic old town. Once inside you will find one of the best reception desk's in the business. All the staff were of the highest calibre. The only true drawback is that the bar closes promptly at 11pm. The bathroom was superb. The room spacious and the breakfast most generous. The elevator was never long in arriving. This is a relatively small hotel, maybe no more than 50 rooms over 5 floors. . I chose this hotel because it is a British Airways recommended property and the location appealed to me. I made a great choice. I had read the guide books and they warned one to be alert to the taxii overcharges. From the railway station the cab boss demanded 600 crowns. I objected and settled for 400 crowns as time was a factor. I only had two nights to spend and it was already 7pm. At departure the hotel at my request explained all modes of transport possible to take one to the airport and ordered my taxi to the airport for the guidebook posted fare of 680 crowns. Unfortunately it turned out to be a very fine private saloon car with in-operative air-conditioning. The driver claimed he could not possibly authorize a discount. On the Monday morning I took the hotel recommended 6 hour ultimate walking tour for 1200 crowns. This was a great bargain. On the Tuesday I only had time for a 2 hour Communist Bunker tour for 600 crowns, but again thiese tours in english afforded me a great intro to the City and its people, the guides. I was most fortunate to have the best guides, namely Linda and then Petr and to have some good Irish company at the hotel bar with Cristine and Peter from Dublin. Room 202 was very quite.

an excellent location on na porici street, very close to republic square metro, or a short walk up to florenc metro.
reception staff efficient and friendly. the central well and corridors are very high , wide, impressive, and recently decorated,as are some of the guest rooms.
i was allocated an older large twin room on first floor which had very high ceilings and tall windows. it overlooked an uninspiring courtyard, which was fine,as i had requested a quiet room. the trams run outside the front of hotel, so hopefully those rooms will have some soundproofing.
the room decor was rather gloomy and uninspiring, and had that well-worn look of too many coach groups having passed through. the bathroom was also of a good size, but had been nicely renovated, and was both sparkly and worked very well.
the bright modern cafe offered a good buffet breakfast, and the hotel had a comfortable good sized bar, even with a separate lounge area with pool table.
given the location and space afforded, i would consider staying here again if the price remained competitive.

Wonderful old building in nice area with beautiful facade, spacious room with very high ceiling, big bathroom with wheelchair access. A little bit noisy because of trams under your windows, but it’s not so bad, if you prefer quiet room ask to give you the one from the back side of hotel, but in front your view will be better definitely. There is free safe deposit box and no fridge in the room. Free Wi-Fi, but don’t forget to ask about password on the reception. Very smiling, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet with very rich choice. Easy, fast and cheap to reach from Ruzyně airport. First you’ll have to buy tickets for 90min and if you’re with a large luggage you’ll need and another ticket for it, but ask the seller for sure, there is a kiosk in the arrival hall and next to it there is an info and you can grab your free map of Prague. Then take the bus No 119 to Dejvická metro station (metro line A – green line), get in the metro (use the same ticket) and get off on Mustek station and transfer for one station to line B – yellow line of metro, just follow the signs. Next station is yours - get off and follow inscriptions about Na Porici steet, from there you have 4-5 min to your small charming hotel (everything takes around 40-50 min). The other way to reach it is if you’ll take bus No 100 from the airport to Zličín metro station (metro line B) and just ride to the station Námésti Republiky (journey by metro is longer). Hotel Atlantic is just with great location. You’re in the hearth of old town, everything is in walking distance – when you go out from the hotel and turn right for Námésti Republiky you’ll pass along newly opened mall Paladium and then will see Prasna brana and Municipal house, you need only 5 minutes to the Old town square, 10-15 min to reach Karluv most and 10 min to Vaclavske namesti. Very close to all interesting places and sights, they are easy and reachable by walk within several minutes. There is a tram stop outside, Metro is also in a few meters, and train station is around the corner, bus station Florenc is also walking distance – only 5-10 min if you intend to run out of Prague for a day trip and. Just go and enjoy Prague!

Ideal location and excellent value for a hotel in Prague. Public transport within 50 metres. Breakfast included, and enjoyable. Free wifi. Helpful staff, and fair English. Easy walk to Republic square and the Old Town square. Huge shopping centre on corner of the street.

Room Tip: Had a room at the back of the hotel, away from the main road. Very quiet, and comfortable.
