I'll start with the positive. Hotel Atlantic had large rooms and it was in an excellent location. Just a quick walk to old town and an even faster walk to the subway. we rode the subway to and from the airport. There was a subway stop only yards from the hotel. There was a gigantic shopping mall just up the road from the hotel which had all the shops you could ever need. The staff was friendly enough and helped us get around.

Now for the negative. They tried a bit to hard to get me to buy into the guided tour folks. I would ask how to get to a specific attraction and instead of telling me how to get there they would give me a pricing book from a tour company. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the noise at night was ridiculous. There was a tram that passed by the hotel every half hour or so and it sounded like an earthquake. I had to wear earplugs at night just to stay asleep. The free breakfast was by far the most disappointing. We tried it the first day and honestly it was inedible. Maybe this is what Czechs eat for breakfast but I was not a fan. They had free wifi but in the room we stayed there was no reception. to use the internet I had to be on the floor next to the door or be out in the hallway. I'm sure we looked strange out in the hallway calling home on Skype. I went to complain to the front desk hoping for a room change but all they said was that they'd send someone up to adjust the antenna. I couldn't speak to whether or not they actually sent someone to adjust the signal but I didn't see any improvement. Was the hotel okay? sure. Would I stay here again? Not a chance.

Room Tip: I'm sure the higher the room the less you'll hear the trams at night. I'd ask for a room...

Hotel Atlantic is warm and comfortable. Our two single rooms were spacious and well equipped. The housekeeping is very good. We were in Prague when flooding seemed likely and a state of emergency declared. We found the staff very helpful in these circumstances. The location is excellent for all the landmarks.

Not outstanding, but generally ok. The first room we were in had a nice view but was too noisy from trams passing. The staff moved us to a better room at the rear of the hotel which was a lot more spacious. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good. The location was generally ok, but slightly out of the more populated parts of the town. The major downside was that there was much of the corridors smelled of smoke.

Pros
1. Relatively inexpensive.
2. Pleasant staff & service. They provide free outlet adapters when available.
3. Very convenient location, near Metro & Tram stations. 10-15 min. walk from most of the landmarks in Old town Prague. Just down the street from Palladium which is a huge shopping mall. YMCA is a few meters away and it has an indoor pool and exercise facilities.
4. Good sized rooms by European standards,

Cons
1. This hotel needs a renovation. Room keys need to be changed to card keys. Carpets look worn. Interior looks like Soviet era design that was updated though not to current standards.
2. There is no thermostat control in the room. I was there in early May when temperatures outside ranged between the mid 40's - 60's yet it was way too warm in the room. We tried keeping the windows open but the street noise was too loud.
3. You can hear the street noise slightly (ie Trams & buses) even when the windows are closed. It's not bad because they have double windows. I was able to sleep through it without a problem because I was tired but for people who are very sensitive to noise, this may spell the difference between restful sleep and a lousy night.
4. There is no pool or gym in this hotel but you can go to the YMCA down the street for a workout or swim. I paid 85 Czech crown (less than US$5) to swim in the 25 meter indoor lap pool.
5. Buffet breakfast is not up to par with the usual offerings in hotel chains like Hilton, Ibis, Hyatt etc. I don't recommend paying extra for this. Get it if it comes free with your room, if not, just go to Palladium (1-2 minute walk on the right side as you walk out of the hotel) where you will find a French coffee stand that also sells pastries and sandwiches, this place had the best croissant during my Prague trip.
6. They don't provide shampoo, just a bath gel that is used for both hair and body.

Overall: I don't think I would stay here again specially since there are better choices nearby. It is not a terrible hotel and is certainly an option for the extremely budget conscious folks. It's location is the biggest plus, everything else is so-so.

Room Tip: If they have rooms away from the street, get those.

i really loved the location of this hotel--1 minute walk to the palladium, 2 minute walk to the billa grocery store, 10 minute walk to wenceslas square, 10 minute walk to old town square, and 15 minute walk to charles bridge. the metro was nearby and i felt totally safe walking around the area at night.

the breakfast was okay. perhaps i was spoiled by the spread in vienna.

my two gripes about this place--they still use a skeleton key and it took forever to unlock/lock the door and the rooms reeked of cigarette smoke.

The staff are friendly and very helpful, it is always nice to see the same members of staff working at the hotel over the years.
This is my eighth stay at the hotel.
The locating is great close to the metro station and the palladium shopping centre
The breakfast is good, a varied choice Boiled eggs, bacon ....
Rooms are clean and spacious.
Good wifi connection in the room and the bar area
I will be staying at the hotel on my next visit to Prague

-Rooms are really big
-Double bed is 2 beds together, whats not going - they drives from each other
-Breakfast is really good
-Perfect location!
-They take your car key for re-parking your car
-Parking place cost really much - 20 euro per 24h
-Not noisy - thats good
So good value for that money and perfect location.
