“Great location, big clean room”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

We stayed here for 4 nights, and it was excellent. Its a short walk to Wenceslas Square, and shorter still to the Metro station. The room and bathroom were very big, and everything was clean. The pension is a combination of at least 3 separate buildings beside each other. But it was safe and easy. There is a bar/restaurant on the corner of the building, and the food was good. A good option in Prague.

Pension Brezina is more like a basic B&B then a hotel. Having said that, our twin room was incredibly specious and very clean. We paid approx. £45 a night including breakfast, which was a good deal. Not as close to the centre as expected however the Metro station (Pavlova) is very close to this hotel and 24 hours ticket will cost you only £3.50.
Great hotel if you are travelling on a budget.

I stayed here after reading other reviews but sadly my experience was different. I rarely write bad reviews but I was really frustrated by my stay.

Good stuff
The near by underground is very easy to use. It was clean.

Bad stuff
I paid for a double/twin room and was given a single that apparently could not be changed. They obviously saw I was travelling alone and decided to shove me in a single despite that being not what I had paid for. The room was on the top floor of a multipurpose building next to a lift. Whenever someone went in or out of a room, walked on the stairs, or talked the noised easily transmitted to my room. I have got better sleep in large dorms in Vietnam. The shower wouldn't stay on the hook so I had to hold it above my head whilst the temperature rapidly swung between freezing and boiling. I had friends staying in a nearby cheaper hostel that had a much better deal and a friend staying in a four star hostel for not much more. I would not recommend this place but if you do stay here avoid room 65!!

The two-buliding pension is very conveniently located in the close proximity to the city center. The main railway station and the upper part of the Wenceslav Square can be reached within a 10-15 minutes walk. Alternatively, there is a tube station (I.P.Pavlova) on the neighboring street. I have stayed in an attic double room for two nights. The room was spacious and clean, though the furniture a bit outdated. Perfectly clean bathroom, air conditioning and card lock did their bit to help me enjoy the stay. The room was located to the street side which could be quite noisy from the high traffic, especially in the lower floors. Upon our arrival, we got a bit sour welcome from the guy at the reception, but this unlucky moment was made up for totally by a very kind and helpful young lady on our check-out.
The highlight of the stay was definitely breakfast - delicious, with rich selection and prepared by very friendly smiling stuff. :-)

Room Tip: I would recommend rooms oriented to the garden, as the street view rooms could be a bit noisy from t...

We stayed at Pension Brezina early March in 2013, our room was on the first floor, spacious, high ceiling, clean bathroom. We read trip advisor reviews before we book this hotel to get an idea. Our room was in the other building so we cvpuld come in and out without passing though the reception which is quite good. staff are nice and friendly. And Location wise the hotel is located in a good place just 2 min walk from the Metro (I.P. Pavlova) also easy to come/go back to air port take arround 40 min, Metro + bus . The area we could say safe to walk in the night as we didnt have problem coming back in the mid night. near by cafe/ restaurants Paul's Bakery, Star bucks, KFC. Overall its a good location, value for money and we really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: 1 floor rooms are good. spacious and high celiing

We booked this hotel as part of a package and didn't expect much. But we were wrong and was due for a surprise when we arrived. It was a quick journey from airport by public transport. We took bus 119 to metro line A and then changed to C. Metro stop is 2 min walking distance. There is a tram stop also next to the metro. We arrived around 4pm and had to ring the bell for the receptionist to come. I guess its not manned all the time. Our room was on second floor and entrance to the building is desperate from the reception. It gave the impression of staying in a desperate apartment. We took standard double room and it was fairly big and clean and cosy. There is a garden in the back yard where you can sit and relax if you feel like it. We had our meals outside so not sure how good the good is in the restaurant but there are many good eateries close by. We always carry a small travel kettle so didn't have to worry about a late night cuppa. It didn't feel insecure anytime even late night when we took the last metro that leave the starting station mid night. So overall we were more than satisfied with hotel and would definitely stay there when we visit again.

Three friends came for a city break. We saw so much for beautiful Prague, sampled great food and wine (sadly not much beer as we aren't massive beer drinkers but try Pivovarský dům - really close to the hotel (walking) they sell champagne beer!! Among blueberry/banana etc.

However, talking about the hotel! We had rooms 5 and 7, huge ceilings and clean enough. It was in a separate area from the reception but the reception staff were really helpful and available 24/7.
The showers in both rooms weren't amazing, had to be hand held as they kept falling off the holder, however not a massive problem as the water was lovely and warm.

The safe in one of the rooms was not set up properly/instructions wrong as I ended up locking money and passports in on the first day! Thankfully we had enough money to last us (and more as Prague's so cheap!!) until the maintainance man came out the following day.
If this happens to you DO NOT PANIC. At first we did, but the reception were really laid back about it and said it will get fixed we just had to wait until the man was able to come out (really quickly). It also states on the info on the wall about the safe, so it obviously happens frequently.

Check out was fine and we were able to leave out suitcases at the back of the office for the full day, two of us had also left our mobile and kindle in the room!! the staff were great and gave them back to us as soon as we came back to the hotel!! Lovely lovely xx
