Step back in time in this typically east european hotel ( much dark wood and chandeliers) but that was part of its charm. The only complaints were the hard beds and because its on the main road a certain amount of traffic noise. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was not a bad variety. The trams to the city centre stop outside which is convenient. For the price not a bad stay.

Rooms are clean , had a triple for 2 so had some extra space.very basic but for $40 odd a night it was worth it. Tram outside door into city or andel in no time. It's a basic hotel without luxury .clean and secure. Furniture could do with an upgrade. Breakfast was very average. Location is great if you just want a base to sightsee but if you plan a big night out on the town be mindful that it's a long walk home or a cab if you miss the last tram.I would stay there again for the price we paid. Staff were helpful.Beds could be upgraded soon!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights over the New Year period. We were a little concerned that we may be a bit out of the way, but the location of the hotel was not a problem at all. There is a tram stop literally right outside the hotel which takes you directly in to the city centre in around 10 minutes (Tram no. 9). They run late in to the night as well, which was great as we had no problem getting back to the hotel after our New Year's celebrations at the Old Town Square and Charles bridge.
The room itself was absolutely fine, if a little dated. It was clean and spacious and the shower was nice and powerful, despite having to hold the shower head yourself.
We had read reviews on here saying that the rooms at the front of the hotel were very noisy due to the main road, but we were at the front and it really wasn't a problem!
Breakfast was nice enough and would certainly tie you over until lunch time. The little sausages were great! There was also eggs, breads, jams, pastries etc.
There is a computer in the lobby, which is free to use - very rare these days! And if you ask at the desk, they will give you a wifi password to use on your phones etc. in your room.
The hotel staff were very helpful and also printed us out a bus and tram timetable to get us back to the airport in time for our flight home.
In terms of getting around, my advice would be to get a 3 day (or 24 hour etc.) travel pass as soon as you arrive at the hotel. This will cover all trams, buses and the metro, which we found very handy!
Prague is a great city and the Kavalir Hotel made our trip all the more pleasant!

Room Tip: If you are REALLY bothered about even the slightest bit of noise, as for a room that isn't at th...

I stayed with my family for two nights in this hotel, as a part of the chain hotels we expected something little bit different but generaly we liked our stay. Big advatige is its location, there is a tram stop right outside of the hotel and only 4 stops to go to Andel. Althought it is located on very busy street and we had one room with windouws on this side we didnt hear any noise and our sleep was very good. Rooms are big enough with quite old-fashioned furniture but definitely clean. Breakfasts are ok and if you have car you can put it in underground garage and you can be sure it is safe.

It was nice, although the bathroom looked a little bit old.
But good services and nice people.

I've stayed at Kavalir Hotel for 3 nights. It's a small, nice hotel with a very friendly staff. It's just 10 minutes away from the city center - with the tram. You can buy tickets at the reception desk. Their underground parking place is quite small and it should be booked in advance. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. However, the bed was not double like in the pictures - there are 2 small beds put close together. The service was OK - the towels were changed each day and the room cleaned. Overall, it doesn't not feel like a 3 star hotel - but considering the costs, it has been a good choice for our staying in Prague.

I decided to stay at this hotel after reading the reviews on here but they were not correct! This hotel is in deperate need of updating! Whilst very clean it was all very dated. We booked a double room and we got a twin room with the beds pushed together! The beds had seen better days as they sagged in the middle!!! We also had a room at the front and you can hear the traffic and trams going passed as it is on a busy road. There is a fridge you can use but no tea/coffee making facilities. When we stayed there were a lot of children so the rooms were full.
On the plus side they have a computer you can use for free in reception which helped a lot when we were looking for restaurants on here to go to!! They do offer a basic breakfast and if you like frankfurters then you will love it!
There is a tram stop right outside which is handy for getting in to the city center but if I had to stay at a hotel outside of the city then I would choose something in Andel.
