The Aria is a boutique hotel and ticks all the boxes for a wonderful stay in comfort, surrounded by music and friendly staff.
The hotel was full of surprises. All we knew before we arrived in Prague on that snowy winter's day was that it was musically-themed, to complement the visit we had planned to the Prague State Opera (La Traviata)
Even as you pull up outside, it is obvious that this was going to be different. The outside, the entrance, and indeed the warm welcome, make you feel that you have arrived somewhere special. Having been allocated the hotel by the agency, I had no idea, apart from what was on the internet, exactly what to expect.
Our welcome tour was an eye-opener. Our cases had vanished to the room and we were shown all the facilities, which includes a better than average gym-and-pamper suite, steam room, quiet areas and even two viewing rooms for watching films. Never seen that before.
The bar and restaurant areas are fascinating, full of variety, interesting objet d'art and of course there is excellently chosen music playing.
We were then shown the music library where we were told we could borrow any CD or DVD we liked during our stay. We were issued with our iPod (I am not kidding!) which was pre-loaded with 500 classical, jazz and popular music tracks. There were no headphones but when we arrived in the room, we found out why. There's a docking station connected to the computer terminal (free internet in the room), the wide-screen LCD TV and the Harmon-Kardon HiFi. With large high quality speakers to deliver the sound, we were in HiFi heaven!
For TV channels, there is Czech digital TV, or standard TV with BBC and CNN, or you can play a DVD n the wide screen, the sound coming through the speaker cabinets. Or, you can lie there and listen to, well peace and silence, even though busy Prague is only a little way away.
We stayed in the Tchaikovsky room - the view from the window is included in this review, it speaks for itself. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the bathroom is big enough to hold a party and the room is very well appointed - being very large with plenty of places to sit and relax. There was no in-room tea-making, but with everything else there, it would be churlish to complain about it. The mini-bar was well stocked, the furnishings tasteful, the bathroom had a bath and two showers.
We didn't spend much time eating at the hotel because we had other venues pre-booked, but when we did eat in the bar a coupe of times, the club sandwiches were to die for! Normal five star hotel prices, and service excellent.
The concierge (they shared two shifts) doubled as music experts in the music library and their knowledge of music is considerable, recomending music that you might like to hear.
For location, it could hardly be better - it's a few minutes walk from the Castle-side of the Charles Bridge.
So, who would this hotel suite? A wide variety of guests - musicians, certainly, people who love music - absolutely. People who like high quality places to stay - of course. Prague is an artistic place, there are concerts and performances everywhere, and the city is beautifully ornate. This hotel complements that tradition. A city that has been allowed to maintain it's historic look-and-feel with a complete absence of skyscrapers.

A truly wonderful place to stay in Prague. Near a number of excellent eateries. Also near the train/cab stands

And the view of the St. Nick's cathedral is awesome.

10 Reasons to select this hotel for your stay in Prague: 1. Great concept: Music theme well-executed all over the place: piano bar, music book/DVD/CD library, iPod in your room, artwork, room keys. 2. Wonderful caricatures of jazz, classical, pop musicians by artist Josef Blecha throughout the hotel. 3. Ivana, the concierge, knows what's on in Prague culture-wise and helps you getting around/tickets. 4. Coda, the small beautiful boutique restaurant with delicious Czech dishes and wine. Try the potato soup! 5. Location: centrally located in a quiet street in between Old Town and the Prague Castle. Plenty of jazz bars in the hood. Go to Blue Light and U Maleho Glena after 22h. 6. Friendly and helpful staff. 7. Gorgeous breakfast bar located in the piano bar. Splendid omelets and eggs benedict! 8. The 360' views over Prague from the rooftop terrace. 9. Private cinema. 10. Spacious rooms (ask for garden view).

I stayed here with a friend on a New Year. Easy to drive and find with navigation, valet parking, very pleasant and efficient reception staff, rather small but tasteful rooms, nice bathrooms, great idea with iPods for guests, small but organic and very good buffet for breakfast etc etc - overall very nice impression from this hotel. And I really liked location - quiet street, no crazy non-stop tourists crowds but very close to Karl`s bridge and other landmarks.I would not give it 5-stars as they state, rooms are not 5 starts, it is probably 4 stars but solid 4 stars:) They have fintess center and other amenities that I did not check - so can not judge them.

Spent New Year at this hotel and was impressed by the exceptional service and quality . We opted for the hotel's New Year package which included accommodation (B&B), transport to and from the airport and the Gala dinner. From our first encounter booking the hotel everything went smoothly . As there were two couples we had expected to share a car but to be met at the airport by two of the hotel's drivers was a very nice touch. The check in was equally impressive. Instead of just being shown to our room we given a conducted tour of the hotel's facilities , introduced to the conceirge and then offered a welcome drink of our choice. The rooms are well proportioned and all the little touches from toiletries to fresh fruit and water were there. I normally carry coat hangers but this time they did not even leave the suitcase- there were plenty including ones for trousers. Each room has its own i-pod with a selction of music -fantastic idea. there was also a library of DVD and CDs and books which could be borrowed at no charge. There is even a private cinema for the guests' uses. The hotel has the best Concierge I have ever encountered. Her knowledge of the city, its history and points of interest surpasses any other . The staff are professional and friendly and this was evident in the attention to detail that went into the Gala Dinner. The food was of an equally high standard with a very good buffet breakfast supplemented by an addition of cooked breakfast. The staff was prepared to accommodate the fussiest of diner without a flinch. This hotel is one of the highlihghts of the city and well worth a stay.
