“Excellent location, value for money, professinal staff”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

This hotel is walking distance from the huge castle complex (out the door turn right) and the Charles bridge and old town (out the door turn left). We didn't use the garage but it has private parking but if you are just coming in for a few days sight seeing, you don't need a car. We found the hotel staff very professional and helpful, especially when we had to visit the emergency department of the local hospital when my travelling companion fell and cut his head. Another locational bonus is that the emergency room - open I think 24 hours a day - is three minutes walk away. And if you carry your European medical insurance card (which they asked for) the treatment is virtually free and, unlike in the UK, very quick.
My only problem with the hotel was that although our room was the most spacious hotel room I have had in my life, the breakfast had a decent variety of food, and the price was very very reasonable, the room itself was a bit gloomy. I could see that the owners were trying to keep the period feel of the rooms but the room was full of very dark furniture, the walls were without pictures and painted an institutionally muted colour. I would recommend this hotel for a short break because the location, professional efficiency of the staff and value for money is spectacular but for a longer stay, especially if there was any time spent in the room, it might be a bit depressing. It is still a 5 star rating from me however because of the sheer value for money and because there are also some advantages in staying in a hotel which reflects some of the architectural diversity of Prague - rather than in a cookie cutter chain.

Room Tip: ask for a room that is quiet and not in the roof

Spent 3 day getaway for a relaxing but sightseeing experience. We intended to use this hotel as just a base for us, didn't want to splash out on the hotel. However it outdid our intentions, being in very close proximity to almost everything Prague had to offer especially how we were 5 minutes walk to the Prague castle. Very easy access from the airport making it easy to get too by public transport. Literally a 5 minute walk to Charles bridge and 10 minutes to the centre of Prague. Would happily stay here again.

The location is absolutely perfect. It's situated in the Old Town, near Charles Bridge. The touristy part of Prague isn't somewhere I would want to be. It's tacky and there are too many shops selling old tat.

Hotel Constans is quiet, very clean and the staff (particularly, Jan) are very welcoming and helpful.

The breakfast is standard (like the usual cheese, ham, fruit, bread) you'd expect from a European country but it was nice and well presented to guests.

The rooms are spacious and, indeed, very quiet. We had room 48 (facing the big gardens outside) which was marvellous and quiet. You could have heard a pin drop at night! I am a light sleeper so it was so lovely to arrive and notice how very relaxing and comfortable the hotel was.

I would definitely go back to Hotel Constans. Prague wasn't really what I expected all in all but the hotel certainly was a plus point and Lehká hlava (restaurant) made our stay worth while.

Deffo book a room here - don't hesitate!

The bedrooms are enormous! Also a good temperature. Food was good, but not great. Location is fab though, only 10 minutes walk to the centre of the old city. Just be prepared to walk on cobbles! A colleague said the car park was tricky to find as the streets are a narrow maze!

I stayed in this hotel twice in the past 4 months. This hotel relies on the size on the rooms too much. The bedding is very poor, the pillows thin and lumpy, and only 1 pillow per person. The bed is uncomfortable and the duvet below standard.
The worst thing is the breakfast presentation - the coffee out of the machine is well below standard, the food was of poor quality and angled towards the meat eater, not too much fruit on offer, and almost nothing for the vegetarian. It relies on serving lots of bread, rolls and sweet meats, which are not always what you need.
I would hesitate to book at this hotel again, and probably won't.

My cousin recommended this place. A known hotel snob, she would never stay at a place that wasn't of a certain caliber. This hotel delivers. The rooms were large and spacious. The staff were helpful and efficient. The breakfast was good. Try to avoid the morning crowd. We tried the restaurant for supper. I know what you're thinking, but it was actually very good hat a great place. Great value. If you're looking for a quiet clean quirky place to stay and are the self efficient type this hotel is ideal. It did take some experimentation to find where the wifi worked best in the room, but once we did, we had no problems. Close proximity to the Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle. Lesser town isn't as touristy as Old Town and for us that was big plus. A great place Ina magical city.

Room Tip: Only saw ours room 35- other travellers were happy with their rooms.

I stayed at this hotel with 2 of my other friends in a triple room. Our room was on the 4th floor right under the roof. The room was big , the view was great facing the tower on the hill of prague, the bathroom was also very large which is always important.

The breakfast was simply amazing, I have never had such a rich breakfast. I would also like to highlight the staff who have been extremely helpful. They helped us with ironing, with directions, fulfiled all our requests even a request with extra bed sheets. The hotel is always open and we had no trouble of coming back late.

Finally the location was perfect. It was close to the funicular, it was close to Charles Bridge. And even when we went fruther away from it, a taxi to the hotel was only abour 6-8 euros for 3 people.

I would strongly recommend this hotel, because I had am left with a good experience in this hotel which also mad emy overall experience in Prague amazing.
