We arrived mid morning and our room was ready so able to leave bags before exploring.

Room was fine with a very large comfy bed, but no tea or coffee making facilities and small towels in the bathroom. Buffet breakfast was plentiful to fill us up.

We had a room at the front of the hotel but even the traffic noise was quiet at the weekend and not too intrusive on a Monday morning either.

Located very close to both the tram system and metro, both very easy to understand and get around, although the walk along the river into town was enjoyable.

Staff wery very helpful and polite.

At a cost of £51 per night, per couple including breakfast - excellent value for money.

The hotel was clean and modern. The reception team was helpful and always available. We did have problems with our heating making noises but the situation was rectfied quickly and we were given a new room.

We felt the location was ideal as it allowed us to be in a fairly lively area, with bars and restaurants to hand, whilst only being a 20 min walk from the center.

Prague is beautiful and this is a good place to use as a base.

We returned yesterday from our first visit to Prague having spent 2 nights at La Boutique. For first timers it was very easy to get to the Hotel from the airport. You can buy your tickets before you get on the bus (26Kr for 75 mins). We didn't and bought on the bus and were charged 30Kr. We caught the 119 bus from right outside the terminal which takes you to Dejvicka (about 20 mins). It is then 2 trains on the metro changing at Mustek before arriving at Andel (about 20 mins). The Hotel is about 5 mins walk from the Metro station. We had to call the Hotel twice for directions when we arrived so worth printing off a google map with directions before you go. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and were able to check in into our room despite arriving at midday. From previous reviews we decided to change our room (No. 16) which was right next to the Brewery entrance. The Receptionist obliged and put us in room 37 which is at the back of the hotel where we didn't hear a sound. Room numbers 17, 27 & 37 are all at the back of the hotel for reference. Our room was clean and well presented and had everything that you could want in a room that you are using as a place to rest so that you can spend as much time as possible exploring Prague. If you are planning on spending alot of time in your room then be aware that there are only 5 TV channels with 1 english (CNN). Breakfast was a variety of cereal, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses, hot scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage, bread rolls or toast and cakes. Coffee was via a hot flask on the table with tea available as well as fruit juices. We found the hotels location to be excellent with nothing more than a 5 min tram ride away. Just 5 mins walk from the Hotel you have the Novy Smichov shopping centre with a hypermarket sized "Tesco"!!! plus lots of other shops, restaurants etc. Near the Hotel there are plenty of places to eat. Our experience of Prague was that wherever we ate the food was good and always reasonably priced. Out and about Prague is a fantastic city with so much to do and see. Getting around is extremely easy on public transport. Buy your travel tickets at the Tabacconist which is left out of the hotel, up to the junction at the top of the road and is located on the opposite corner (150 metres from hotel). Always worth buying some to put in your pocket for later so that you are not looking for a place to buy them when you need them. For 18Kr you can travel for 20 mins from the time you validate your ticket when you enter the Metro or get on a Tram. For 26Kr you can travel for 75 mins. We found the Trams were very easy and obviously you get the view whilst travelling. Returning home we took the number 20 tram to Vitezne Namestri (next to Dejvicka) which left a 150 metre walk to the bus stop (look for the queue of people with suitcases) to catch the 119 Bus back to the airport. Prague is very easy to do and see and La Boutique will not disappoint you. Enjoy!

I stayed 3 nights on a recent trip to Prague. The hotel is close to Metro station in a street that seemed rather dark but safe with a lot of car traffic. Since I had the room on the 2nd floor, the passing trucks kept waking me up during the night.
The room itself and the bathroom were on a smaller side, but clean and comfortable. Due to the weak signal from the wireless router, supposedly on the 3rd floor, my laptop kept disconnecting. I ended up using the free wireless from a neighboring hotel.
The breakfast was ok, with selection of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs and rolls. Not a 4-star hotel as advertised, but certainly a good value considering the price and proximity to most tourist attractions.
Instead of using public transport, just walk across the river Vltava and head to city center (30 minutes) or Vysehrad, or walk along the river to Mala Strana and Hradcany castle.

We got a good online deal for this hotel although we were concerned that it might be too good to be true; it wasn't. We booked a junior suite which was a good size with a comfortable bed and good quality linen.

The rooms were clean although the daily cleaning was a bit haphazard, but acceptable. The bathroom contained a shower only, but there was always hot water and the pressure was good. The decor is minimalist and modern. The room contained a safe, iron and hairdryer.

The breakfast was fresh and of good quality although there was little change throughout our stay.

We found the hotel staff friendly and knowledgeable - we certainly didn't have the same experience as the previous reviewer. However, internet is not available although wi-fi may be - we used a local internet cafe.

Charles Bridge is a 20 minute walk but the tram and metro system is easy to understand and makes getting round Prague very simple. We walked back from the Old Town a couple of times and always felt safe. Location-wise it is not great and that is reflected in the price. It didn't put us off and it wouldn't in the future.

I took the advice of a previous reviewer and sought out the nearby Staropramen bar. We spent quite a bit of time here and the local food is worth trying - especially the pickled cheese which is fabulous.

All in all I would stay at this hotel again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

My stay in June was marred by the often hostile, sneering and contemptuous attitude of the Elvira-like receptionist and her partner in crime, the hotel's manager. My main complaint and one which I made to the travel booking agency was that wireless internet was advertised and yet not available. Initially, these two hotel employees suggested I meet the bartender who was supposedly going to offer me help to link with the hotel's wireless. Neither he nor the receptionist as they oft repeated were "computer technicians." The bartender though was offensive -- while speaking with him I was forced to view his screensaver - the image of a woman's genitalia. I'm no prude, but it's not what I was expecting when I just wanted to access the internet and proceed with my work. Their solution was for me to go next door and use the internet at the adjoining hotel's internet cafe (the wonderfully hospitable Aparthotel City 5). I did this, daily. I also complained when my room had not been cleaned. It took multiple requests to achieve any effect though I finally received a good response as two of the cleaning staff marshalled their resources to achieve pristine conditions in the room. I eventually obtained a refund of £125 from the travel booking agency. I would never stay in this hotel again. It was style - quite lovely in terms of decoration and internal architecture - over substance. Buyer beware. Consider the gracious hotel next door if you want to be in the Andel (Angel) area of Prague. Also I would never book a hotel/flight package again and pay in advance. I had no recourse to leave a very unpleasant and hostile situation.

We Stayed at this hotel in Aug 08, we are only back and to be honest we would go back tomorrow and def stay at this hotel. The room was brilliant, so much space, very clean and a lovely shower room. We booked the Junior suite as there was also a living area (though there could have been more storage for our things). The room also had a free digital safe in the cupboard which was great. the breakfast was great, plenty to choose from and the dining room was very nice, in the evening this is the bar (but it is not very busy). The surrounds of the hotel were great, plenty of bars and restaurants to eat in and also a fantastic shopping mall with a tesco. It is in a business area, so you pay what the locals pay for food, drink ect. we walked into the centre everyday, it takes bout 30 mins to charles bridge. We used the trams once to go to prague castle (a must) the trams are great once you get used to them. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we will def be back.
