“Wonderful Hospitality!!”
Reviewed 16 November 2005

My husband and I and another couple stayed at Pension Vetrnik last week for 2 nights. It was one of the nicest B and B's we've stayed at. The grounds that it is on are beautiful, a private parking lot that is very secure. There is also a tennis court. Milo was there to greet us with his wonderul dog Arnie. The rooms are nice, nothing fancy. Milo said that he would have dinner for us if we were interested so we thought we would give it a try and we are sure glad that we did. Everything was delicious, especially the salad. He is such a great chef, and in between courses he told us some interesting history of the B and B, and also Prague during Communism times. It was so good that we had to have dinner there the next night. There's no menu just Milo asking what you feel for, and he'll make it. It's a great location to the city too. Just catch the #18 tram right outside the B and B, and it's a 15 minute tram right to Charles Bridge area. We would definitly stay here the next time we go to Prague. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast, it was such a wonderful experience and we have Milo and his family to thank for it!

I read all the reviews on this site and frommers trying to figure out where in Prague to stay 2 weekends ago, and I'm so glad I decided on staying at Pension Vetrnik. I stayed downtown on my last visit, paying way too much for a dirty room that was loud and had a gross breakfast. I loved the owners of Pension Vetrnik, they really are as nice as everyone has said, and made us a great dinner when we arrived late Friday night. The rooms are okay, with older decorations and a shower that comes out in a straight beam, but, they are clean, and the place is just so cool. Its in a park, all walled in with a few acres of gardens and woods and a really nice tennis court. Its super easy to hop on Tram 18 and you can get off at a subway, tram, bus station that will take you anywhere, on the same ticket that Blanka gave us, with her directions. Plus the breakfast was the best I have ever had in a B&B!! Omelettes on top of the continental of fresh bread and yogurt. Yummy! I'll definetly be coming back.

A fantastic find. Milos and his family run a top notch place with 100% care guaranteed. It has an old world charm with modern conveniences. Sitting in the courtyard with a bottle of wine looking out over the garden is so relaxing. Milos' dinners are fantastic. He is a very charming man. Breakfasts are outstanding too. Short ride by tram to downtown area is very convenient and easy. Tram tickets are available from Pension, be sure you have one before getting on the tram. Milos and his family greeted us upon our late arrival. Our bags were taken to our room and Milos told us to get settled and then come down for a late dinner. Milos was a former chef, prior to entering the Pension business, but in my book he is still a great chef. He sat down with us to go over tonight's menu. He offered starters, soup, salad, main course, and dessert. All this was done over two bottles of wine; one red and one white. The meal was fantastic and the setting wonderful. What a way to start our vacation in Europe.

Just returned from Prague and wanted to post some comments about Pension Vetrnik. After an unsuccessful attempt to book a room at this pension before leaving for Prague (sold out), I thought I would try again when I reached Prague. To my surprise, I was able to secure a room. The only room available was the apartment which Milos graciously gave to us at the same price of a double. The room was extremely clean, spacious and had a deck overlooking the beautiful gardens which are maintained by family members. But the rooms aren't the highlight of this small castle. Milos and his family make this pension very very special. We were greeted each morning with a terrific full breakfast of our choice. The ham and cheese omellette is the best I have ever had. Fresh pastry, yogurt, coffee, and juice always accompany the plate. We tried several restaurants in downtown Prague but finally decided that there was no better place to eat dinner than at the Pension. Milos cooked dinner for us 3 nights. Each night was terrific. There was no menu except for Milos telling us about the specials of the evening. There were many from which to choose, and his selection of wine was good. We especially enjoyed listening to Milos tell us about the history of the Pension and the city of Prague. We had a 6 am flight out of Prague and decided to pay our bill the night before so as not to disturb anyone at such an early hour. We left our room at 4:30 am and was greeted in the lobby by Milos daughter who had packed a "to go" breakfast for us. She had also arranged to have a taxi at the front door waiting for us. I could go into much more detail but I think you probably understand the type of pension this is. If you are looking for a wonderful and reasonably priced place to stay and don't mind a 15 minute tram ride into the city, then look no further. Pension Vetrnik is it.

Great Place. We stayed at Pension Vetrnik May 2-5, 2005 and it was great base for Prague. We were thinking originally to stay in town, but a decent room seemed to be about $190US including VAT tax, where we could stay a little outside of town for half the price and take the tram into town for under $1US. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts plentiful. Quiet and very nice grounds. We drove from Munich, the Pension has safe gated parking included with your room. There was a tram pick up right by the Pension too. Despite the bad reviews of pickpocketers on or around the trams, I do not see how that could be possible as everyone was sitting in their single seat, maybe during season it gets more crowded. However, town is a different story, be wise and watch/hold your stuff, no wallets and careful with backpacks, lots of pickpocketers in town. We highly recommend staying at Pension Vetrnik, definately worth it!

Milos is the perfect host. He is extremely helpful and gracious. Our meals were delicious. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. This is the best place to stay while visiting Prague. The tram stop is close and it's a short, easy ride into the city.

We stayed with Milos and family for one week. Milos, Blanka and Irene (the best omelette maker) could not have done any more to make our stay in Prague a memorable experience. Milos' stories had us crying with tears of laughter. His food creations made you want to eat with him rather than go into the city. Going into the city via tram was an inexpensive, convenient and pleasant way to "become a local"in Prague. Stay at Pension Vetrnik and spend your savings on Pilsner!!
