“A memorable honeymoon at the Art Deco.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2012

We choose the hotel for our honeymoon in Prague and it did not let us down. We arrived late in the evening due to flight but staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had complimentary strawberries and champagne in our room on arrival which was a lovely. The rooms were very nice. Large in size and very clean. The bed is the most comfy bed we've slept in, in a hotel! The breakfast staff were extremly efficient and helpful. I would highly recommened this hotel to friends and family. Thank you for helping to make our honeymoon a weekend we will never forget.

Found this place last minute, which was a great find! Good location, and the rooms were comfortable. Watch out if you're parking your car, because they dinged us for the bill at the end (never told us of the charge, even though parking was free right in front of the hotel), and if booking through Expedia, they claim free wifi, which there is not. But the price was good and the rooms were great. Would stay there again without hesitation.

Dear Guest, I am very glad you enjoyed your stay at the Art Deco Imperial recently. Let me add some information for other fellow travellers on internet and parking.
The street parking in the area is free during night time and you need to pay at the coin machine during the day.
Internet is complimentary at kiosks in the lobby area. The property has wifi throughout which is subject to fee in deluxe rooms and complimentary in upgraded rooms. I would be grateful if you could navigate me to free wifi offer at Expedia as I have not found it myself (it is listed with a surcharge where applicable). I am looking forward to welcoming you back one day!

TIPS before review: Found that many of the local coffee shops and smaller stores did not like to take larger bills. Also, keep some change in your pockets (.5 or .10 korunas) as you have to pay for public restrooms.

My original hotel location was near New Town. So glad we switched to the Art Deco Hotel which is located a short walk outside Old Town Square. Art Deco is in a great location and the area, in my opinion, is much nicer than the New Town area. Starbucks is right outside the hotel. Walk another 2-3 blocks and you are at the Palladium mall which is supposed to be one of the Czech Republic's largest mall. If you find yourself short on a reservation for dinner or lunch you will have no problem grabbing something to eat at the foodcourt. Cross the street from the Palladium and you see the Municipal House and Powder Gate. From Powder gate turn right and you take a short walk to Old Town Square or stay left (on Na Prikope) where you will run into New Town.

The rooms at the Art Deco were very clean which is top priority to me. They were also nicely decorated. Stayed in a king executive room on the third floor so the room size was large. My teenagers had a twin bed room which was also as executive room and it had an extra bathroom. Like others who have commented about the noise, our room that was facing the front, was noisy. I could hear the buses and street cars most of the night. So if you are a light sleeper, you will want to ask for a room away from the streets.

Though this is a beautiful hotel do not feel like it is a five star. Service at the front desk and the concierge could have been better. I requested 2 rooms beside of each other or very close and my request was not met. Felt like we were bothering the concierge most of the time. Could tell that she even got upset when we did not take a tour that she had suggested. The breakfast buffet in the morning is excellent and had a large variety to choose from. Did not eat there for dinner as our teenagers did not like the menu.

Room Tip: If you are facing the front where the buses and street cars are you will hear the noise. We were on...

The hotel looks just as good as the pictures on the website - the cafe looks even better. Our rooms were spacious and very warm and the beds were really comfortable. The breakfast was the best I've ever had (being a vegetarian)- I recommend the porridge with cinnamon sugar, and our daughters loved the pancakes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the concierge taxi service to and from the airport was efficient and not too expensive (1500 kroner both ways). The sauna and steam rooms were small but very clean and we didn't have to share them when we went. We chose to eat lunch/dinner in the cafe twice as the range and quality of the food were extremely good. It's convenient for the centre, so you can walk to most places. Not expensive considering what's on offer, and worth every penny.

We had a wonderful stay at the Art Deco Hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was superb with a very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we also ate in the restaurant one evening which is highly recommended. We would stay here again as the location and everything about the hotel was ideal.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, going that extra mile to assist in my surprise birthday weekend for my husband by upgrading our room and giving us a complimentary bottle of champagne! Our room was a very generous size and opulently appointed. The small gym and spa facilities were perfect and the sauna was very welcome after walking in -10 degrees. The hotel it self is extremely close to the old town square, shops and restaurants, all within a 5-10min walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the beds were a dream - we slept really well. It was probably one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Well worth the money. We would highly recommend this hotel and location.

We can really recommend that hotel.
Absolute friendly and helpful staff. Perfect rooms. Excellent food and drinks.
Perfect location.
You will really enjoy your stay.

But: Don't go to the bar. It a dark corner. Quite unlikely that you will enjoy your stay there!

Room Tip: Ask for a quite room. Otherwise you hear each and every tram (public transport).
